jehoffman1 "Spring Festival begins on Friday, but I would fully expect companies observing the holiday to start to close down by Wednesday...the knock-on effect of the closure to hit the queue a few weeks down the road." Offices may close, but production will continue though the holiday. No-one leaves expensive production equipment idle when there is high demand for finished product. They just pay workers overtime and give them compensatory time off later. The only reason why EVGA would shut down production during the holiday is if they don't have the parts with which to manufacture products. There is no way in hell that Samsung and TSMC are going to be stopping production of chips in their multi-billion dollar fabs when demand is through the roof.
Gamers Nexus's HW News report, who have actually visited said factories as they were winding down for Lunar New Year, disagrees with your assessment. This is a big holiday for them, in some cases it's the only time of year people get to travel home & see their families in other provinces etc - with how strong "tradition" and the like are in China & to their government, I don't think anything will majorly effect them doing what they normally do this time of year, demand & global bassard be darned.

I feel that "expect tomorrow some" means a straggler type drop. I hope I'm wrong.

At times people have placed their personal thoughts/feelings in this thread and I felt tonight I might drop mine here ... I don't "need" a new gpu, I have a 1070ti that I use to play games. I don't make money or earn my living in any way from whatever gpu is in my computer. It's purely a luxury item for me to use to play games. If my EVGA 1070ti releases the magic smoke tonight then I'll go into my attic and pull my EVGA 970 (hello old friend) back out and pop it in. I can afford to buy a 3080/3090 from a scalper. It's monday and if I did that I could express ship and be enjoying the gaming good life by this weekend. I'm not going to do that because I think paying grossly inflated prices over traditional retail outlet pricing for something that (to me) is a luxury item is just "bad". Like a lot of things in life there's "could" and then there's "should". I could but I won't because basically, **** that bull****; I won't participate in encouraging that behavior no matter how much I would really love to have a new gpu. My EVGA notifications and their associated queues have now turned into a curiosity for me. I've been waiting since september (like many folks) and I'm still waiting. The wait itself has turned into the curiosity; as in "waiting to see exactly how long this will ultimately take now holds almost as much fascination as the idea of getting the notification for the gpu itself". I've no doubt that one day I'll get an email from EVGA and I'll be able to purchase a 3080. EVGA will come through; I've no doubt of that at all. However, it's turned into like a morbid curiosity now. I wonder if it'll be April'ish? My gut now says "yeah right". So maybe more like by the end of summer? August/September? How close will it get to 1 full year from when I originally signed up?

Heard on NPR today that there are factories this year in China that are offering bonuses for employees to stick around this year, to not stay shut down as long, and to try to limit the travel.

mech9t5 Glad you indicated that there are several people who have an Associates Code....hint, hint...
After the whambulancemobile bit about how I "flaunt my code" and "don't really do anything to "deserve" people using it", I figured being more blatant with the fact that I'm saying USE A CODE, ANY CODE instead of highlighting just mine & ENewt's, to prove my point that it's about getting people a free fruggin' discount and not necessarily using mine, was a good approach.

SlimmerBought a $uper duper mech keyboard to hold me over......"I'm on the list!"
I bought the EVGA Z10 brown switch keyboard from Amazon for $43 the other day. The blue switch one is $115 and more for both types if you want adjustable RBG but the red-backlit brown-switch one must be getting cleared out or something. Really nice solid keyboard with great build quality and the LCD screen works wonders with AIDA64 for displaying my system info. Finally replaced my ancient G15 from 14+ years ago
I bought one of those back in November... one of the single worst purchases I've ever made of computer hardware. I'm used to premium keyboards, the Z10 is anything but imo. I paid $71 for it, and I'd say at most it's worth about the same as a run of the mill walmart keyboard - Pretty sure I said in my review I'd give it 0 stars if I could. I've never been more disappointed in an eVGA product, and it was one of my most disappointing purchases ever. The only reason I didn't return it was, despite the extended holiday return window, the whole "returning an item I used for a month for a refund" thing when it's something like a keyboard that gets a lot of daily literally hands-on use, did not sit right with me. I'm getting a Corsair K100 in sometime this week - that thing BETTER be LAWD HELP IT impressive for that price... snagged it for $207 instead of the MSRP of $229+, but that's still the most I've ever spent on a keyboard. If it doesn't hit every point I expect out of a high end keyboard, it's definitely going back. My current, decrep'ed because it is old, keyboard is an Alienware AW768 with Cheery MX Brown switches - which for the price, was one of my favorite keyboards ever. Unfortunately, I broke one of it's legs on top of it being old & impossible to actually get clean because of it's design. I temporarily replaced both legs with old SteelSeries mouse pad & duct tape, but yeah... it's going out to pasture, I hope.

mizzer Funny, I just purchased the Steelseries Apex Pro. I originally had the Logitech G513 Carbon. Decent until I realized that the symbols were not backlit and the ink they used to print the symbols on the keys disappeared in low light. Not quite sure what engineer authorized that move... The Apex Pro is amazing, however. The trigger point for every typical keyboard key can be adjusted. I've already used it to prevent my fat fingers from mistyping a letter here and there.
The Apex Pro looks awesome. I use Steel Series for my mice (650 Wireless currently) but I did not consider them for my keyboard. I just bought a Ducky One or I would be seriously considering the Apex Pro. Putting it on my list for next time. Thanks for the recommendation.
Funny thing, I just literally came back from BB, curbside pickup, for the Corsair K100 RGB Optical-Mechanical Gaming Keyboard — CORSAIR OPX Switch. They keys are reportedly rated for 150 million key strokes. The key switches are similar to the Razer keyboard optical switches.

avacdavison Agreed. After talking with the wifey, we'll be OK for getting a 30-series card, no matter when I am able to get it. We may even be able to get a 3090, with me doing some saving. Benefit of being newly married - tax breaks! That said, I will be getting an EVGA card when the time comes, because of all they've done to help. And, given how much work you've done to keep this thread going, my plan is to use your associate's code. :)
Opening up the universe of cards that you could buy to the 3090 should help. Thanks for your kind words and your consideration; it is all appreciated.

Sure thing. I don't typically get excited about keyboards, but the Apex Pro is a work of art. Simply amazing and a joy to use.
While the Ducky is working just fine for my needs, the Apex Pro looks quite nice. Quite. My prior keyboard was a Logitech G910 and it was great...until it wasn't (the s and t keys started to drag/stick and it was a quick demise)...all in, about three years.
The Logitech Orion with Romer G keys has been a favorite of mine on my main rig back at home, but while I'm away for a few months, I picked up something new to try: An Asus ROG Strix Flare Keyboard. I tried to get the one with the quieter switches, but they are still just a tad clicky/loud for my tastes. Still, the typing is excellent. It has an aluminum frame, excellent rubber grips on the bottom, fantastic customizable RGB settings, and just feels like an extremely good quality keyboard overall. I might have got reds or browns... can't remember now. I'd have to check my receipt! https://www.amazon.com/RO...1612827698&sr=8-18

The name is actually a play on a callsign from back in my CoD MW1 days (as in Call of Duty 4, MW, the original one from 2007, which I played competitively, as in for money) that carried over in to other games, like Battlefield 3, Starcraft 2 etc, because back then I played with that attitude, did not care etc & went hard regardless of how dangerous a person was perceived to be, in game of course. I'd love to change it, and unify my name across all the platforms, but on some places such things are not possible. I used a different ID on the old NVidia forums, and lost access to it (RIP over 11000 posts & such) because I lost access to the email it was attached to before they switch systems to what they're on now. Hopefully everyone saw that eVGA Rewards Program post & considers the idea I put for there, I.E. spreading the love via looking forth someone's code that you know hasn't received their card yet - it's not a large amount, 2 bucks per registration, but it's something, and it only takes a moment to put in a code during registering your card/PSU/AIO/keyboard/motherboard/case/etc - and with prices going up on the GPUs in just about what, 9 weeks? Every little bit is a nice bit. Edit: and in case ya missed it, to my knowledge, getting in the Rewards Program is easy - pretty sure just about everyone can do it. Edit 2: corrected el spelling/grammar errors cuz I've been up 26 hours lol

Just saw this, as far as RGB-ed out keyboards go, that one is actually pretty ... what's the word I'm looking for... simple but in a good way, it looks quality. Unlike some other monstrosities from certain peripheral makers (hilarious example): I sometimes wish GPU makers would give us the ability to "customize" our GPUs a bit more, ala how Galax HOF cards come with that uh... well "thing" on them, that I assume was put on there to "show up" the Kingpin's OLED display: The card is sick but WHAT ARE THOSE lol When I say customize I mean simple things they could do post-factory to make cards more "unique" - when you're paying as much as we are for GPUs, $800-$2000+, I just think it'd be cool. In the 10-series they had those trim kits for certain cards at least.

Latest Queue listo: enewt Spring Festival begins on Friday, but I would fully expect companies observing the holiday to start to close down by Wednesday...the knock-on effect of the closure to hit the queue a few weeks down the road. In the meantime, the frequency and volume of drops already feels less than what they were just a few weeks ago. It is with that backdrop that we again turn our eyes to the inter-tubes, to our in-boxes and to the sky (in silent prayer for gaming goodness to descend upon us in the form of heavy, heavy drops). rjbarker Considering a 9900K OC'd (all Cores) to 5.2Ghz w 1.4v (vcore) can peak between 300W - 400W I would say your "well north of 200W" is being quite conservative. (of course this all dependent on vcore applied). As always with PSU, keeping your load to around 60% of rated will keep you in the "high efficiency" park....vs running PSU at say 85%...... OC'ing both GPU and CPU adds a whole lot to the equation, a lot more than folks....on the other hand how often do you run both your CPU and GPU under "max load" simultaneously.
Meanwhile my lowly 9900k @ 5GHz slurps down 170-200W under load and can't go to even 5.1GHz regardless of voltage cuz I either can't keep it cool or it's just a garbage bin tier die. The 200W figure is more of a "typical OC" folks, I.E. those that'll only push it to try & get the "All Core" speed to the stock max boost - I expect it to be more like 250-300W for that for most, and anything north of that is going to get stupid hot/high wattage, very fast. I'm buying the Z590 Dark as much for the looks as I am for it's abilities, which is a rarity for me, I don't think I've ever purchased hardware before based more/as much because of how it looks as how it performs (assuming it lives up to the Z390 & Z490 Dark's legacies) The whole loading both "when does that happen besides benchmarks" thing is always a good point, but then there's always the "but when it does, you need this much power" counter point holds up. That's why I bought a 1200W "I will not have issues until this PSU gets old" solution myself. I use to purchase Evga boards (Classified days), but have since moved on to Asus (for OC'ing either the Maximus Extreme or Apex Boards), my present build is a Maximus Xi E ...w 9900K ...yeah unless your a wet head you're going to be very restricted OC'ing .....I have mine under an EK Velocity and have good temps w all cores at 5.1 Ghz (but 1.325v is around 300W under load. If I push to 1.4v for 5.2Ghz all cores closer to 325W...for "benchmarks only" I have done a few runs at 5.3 Ghz (all cores) w 1.45v, although didnt bother checking power draw, Im sure it was pushing 380W (possibly more). When I built this WC beast a couple of years ago I found a Corsair 1600i at a great price....will last me a very long time ;) Although my Sli days are now gone after I replace these 1080Ti's w a single 3080. The realization just hit me that Lunar New Year & it's effects are actually going to be felt by the queue & GPU AIBs about a month after it starts... so we're already in this messy crapoli now - which is getting worse because of Crypto, and GPU die/vRAM Chiplet supply issues... then next month we're gonna get the effects of the Lunar New Year... Then April we get price hikes, more price hikes, and probably more after effects of the Lunar New Year. Yeah this is definitely going to get worse before it gets better.

If the latest rumor about the 3080ti ends up being true, it sounds like it will most likely launch before I get a notification email for a 3898. It's not a huge deal to me if it ends up with 12GB. It's more than enough for gaming in 2021 and will hold it's own for at least a few years. I would assume that 12GB instead of 20GB lowers the cost significantly, especially given that the cost of memory is spiking right now. $999 AMD killer. Well, hopefully $999.

Dang, now I’m really wondering if I’ll be able to get a 3897 before April 15 with a queue date of 10/06/2020 😕
Whatever happened the one user who had a raffle? We need more raffles lol. It’s kind of like the NewEgg Shuffle, but for GPU’s. Spread the love ❤️ *Goes back to watching Kung Fu movies on Plex*

That person was very kind. It's what I'd hope people did more. But I get why people have other priorities too.

I hope it works out for you. Hard to say though. If you were end of September you would probably be in the clear, but there is another bottleneck at the beginning of October and I don't think you're on the good side of it. It's not a huge bottleneck like 9/17-18, but it's there. We'll see though. I expect the queue to move pretty quickly through the rest of September. If those dates fall quickly you might get your card before the price goes up. See if Flying Claw Fights 14 Dragons is on Plex. It's a classic.

I really don't expect any tomorrow. In fact I am SOL because of lack of finances so I couldn't commit to anything back when these new cards dropped. So I am a looooooooong way further down the wait queue than most of you here. Do I blame EVGA? Heck NO. I blame Nvida for not waiting for enough stock before launch. I blame crypto miners for using bots to snag the limited supply before the rest of us had a chance. And I blame the scalpers for listing cards for 50-100% markup. I may be able to get the 5900x in the next month or two but I will still be stuck with my 1070FTW2 until the cows come home hundreds of times over or the old boy lets out the magic blue smoke. I don't see me getting lucky either and seeing a 3080 on the shelf of my local Best Buy. So Long and thanks for all the fish.

xeddex At times people have placed their personal thoughts/feelings in this thread and I felt tonight I might drop mine here ...
I'm roughly in the same position as you, except that I don't game and want a 3060 TI mostly for Photoshop. I'm building a new computer and was hoping to give my 5 year old computer to a friend. However, if I don't get a new GPU within another month, I'll probably pull the GTX 970 out of my present computer and use it in the new one until I can get a new GPU. I can easily afford to buy a GPU on eBay at scalper's prices, but I refuse to do so because I think it is anti-social to enable scalpers. MAYBE I would buy at scalper's prices if I absolutely needed a new GPU for my work, but I am certainly NOT going to do so for a GPU I don't absolutely need.

I was pretty optimistic about getting a 3667 (12/1/2020 8:49:01 AM) before April 16 but now I'm not so sure. Really regret signing up for 3751 instead of 3755 though.

Aw man, don't be like that. So what if you are light years away in the queue. You have other options that will get you a card in the next 1-2 weeks if you learn from others who got a card through another retailer. A lot of people are getting cards through Best Buy. No, they are not going to be on the shelves. They are only being sold online right now and you have to know when to be watching. There is a discord chat dedicated to it. A lot of people have gotten cards that way and you can be one of them. Seconds matter though so you have to be ready, especially if you're going for a high demand card like a 3080 (3090's are not selling out instantly anymore). Your personal and card info need to be entered ahead of time. I'm fine with waiting around for a 3080ti so I haven't been frequenting Best Buy, but I will start watching for air cooled 3080's to appear. I'll grab one if I can and try to find a way to get it in the hands of someone here, though I'm not sure how I would pull that off in a non-sketchy way if the buyer isn't more or less local. I'm in the Sacramento area. If that doesn't work out, I know someone else around here who will want it. Either way I won't get stuck with it.
