Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2020/10/13 08:57:54 (permalink)
I am trying to figure out how EVGA is staying in business. Every video card I would have is out of stock I have no idea why anyone would pay more for an RTX 20 series over the newer 30 series. Maybe they just aren't getting anymore of the 20 series so no sense in lowering their prices??? Anyway I seriously doubt my Warzone skills are going to improve with a new video card because I stink However I recently bought the new Samsung G7 Odyssey (32") and would like to see its full potential. My GTX 980 SC is just not cutting it.

I have read the 3090 is a waste of money for gaming. I sort of agree because the GPU will become obsolete long before the memory becomes deficient and a newer GPU will be released in a couple years. I have some notifications in on them but I will probably reconsider the purchase. Money is not a problem. It's more of a wise choice of spending it.

Well I am not losing hope for the day.  I signed up for the 11G-P4-2281-KR on 8/28/2020 before the queue system was setup and received the email at 2:15:53 PM PT so there is still hope for later the day.

It depends. Memory consuming games like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 might be a different story

I may argue the 3090 is not good gaming value because it's 15% more performance for double the price, but it's not a waste of money if you intend to resale it. The 3080 and 3090 will have very good resale value up until the 40 series are announced, especially EVGA models due to the transferrable warranty. I sold my previously-bought-used 2080 TI FTW3 Ultra for $950 the day the 30 Series was announced (early August).

Jacob is a one man help desk, and my new hero (pending receipt of FTW3 Ultra email).  Let's get a few of these things rolling, hopefully people are kind enough to update us when they get their emails.

Too bad they didn't offer the 3080 with like 12, 14 or 16 gigs of Vram. Maybe the GPU design would not allow for it??? It just seems like there is a huge jump in price between $700 and $1500 on the Founders cards for mostly just a Vram boost. Ok I am not an electrical engineer but it's just an observation. Maybe they are going to come out with some intermediate solutions in the future.

I got my fingers crossed... I'm 9/16 for XC3 and 9/17 for the others, so hoping the line starts moving.

Same boat, but if they are still grinding out 3080 and it looks like another month wait when I get the 3090 email... sold.

Yeah, they are perfect...  He really has to be that way, you state something cut and dry, people will freak if it doesnt happen.  I truly think that's the whole idea behind not releasing the queue progress/lineup.  People would flip if even a small mistake was made.  Better to be ignorant of how the sausage is made on this one, at least for me...

Telling ya they are only making the FTW Ultras right now.  If they are making the other cards, its small amounts and going out to retail contracts.  They seem to be only really producing the FTWs in numbers.
