Could it have to do with how people are connecting their power supplies to them?

Also I hope the drops are enough I won't be stuck waiting until April before getting a notification...

I still think there was a batch of PCBs with bad/unstable power lanes on them and that's what was causing the card failures, but unless eVGA ever officially comments on it, we'll never really know.  Almost every instance of a 3080 or 3090 biting the dust has happened within days or hours of use (with a few outliers lasting a week or two, I think those are more related to systems imo) has been people just using them regularly, then the system turns off and red lights upon repowering or being turned back on.

I just hope that we don't get anymore issues with future drops.

Anyone know if they've moved the line on the 3080 XC-Black at all??

Hi all, I was able to get an XC3 Hybrid last night. I don't feel like I paid too much over! Anyways, I wanted to share the card notifications I have removed myself from. I'm still trying to get a Black or Ultra for my living room gaming rig.

New BIOS update from 12/30/20 on my MSI X570 motherboard. One more thing to fiddle with while waiting for EVGA to open back up tomorrow ... hopefully I can get back up to 3600MHz on my RAM again! I was cruising there just fine with my 3900X, but this 5900X, monster it may be, is stuck with a HARD and hopefully artificial limit of 3200MHz regardless of relaxed timings or other settings. It's a known issue to AMD and MSI, and rather common, unfortunately - but definitely bizarre!

Finally got my 3080 FTW3 ULTRA.
So far I got a small scare with a red led, turns out that my power supply's PCIE connector (the third) wasn't plugged correctly (modular). It is now working properly.

If anyone is running on a PSU they plan on replacing later, you can always undervolt your GPU until you get the higher wattage/quality PSU.  For a 3080, something around 1995MHz @ 975mV should be stable on 99% of FTW3 Ultra cards at least.  For a 3090, I've been able to run 2040MHz @ 1000mV and it's stable through everything I threw at it, including dozens of hours of Cyberpunk.

Let's hope we see some big drops tomorrow, I'm lookin' forward to playing with a Kingpin for the first time ever... but no rush for my sake, the longer it takes for me to get my queue spot called, the more eVGA Bucks I have available to throw at the purchase :-D

Edit: Anyone else notice the site got updated to saying orders won't ship until the 5th? I swear it said the 4th 2 weeks ago... guess tomorrow we either aren't getting drops or if we do they won't ship til the 5th?

That's probably just an automated message based on the number of orders they've received since they stopped shipping back in December.

If EVGA won't send any tickets to any e-store for a week, they might be able to remove a lot of the pending queues here.

I'm pretty sure they can't do so without breaking some agreements they've made with retailers.

I would really love to see some movement out of September queues. I'm waiting on the 3090 XC3 Black, but many skews are still showing as queues from September also.

What I'd really like to see them do is give us hard numbers about our position in the queues. That'd give us a better way to track how fast the queues are actually moving. Even if it just updated once a week, having that hard info would be infinitely better than the current timeline based guesstimates that we currently have.

So far not good..
My Seasonic 750Watts Prime Titanium is in the affected units.
Anything above 65% power level will trip and shutdown my PC (approximately at 550Watts wall, or 500Watts supply)
So much for a "750 watts" power supply.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday. I spent the week in Northern Michigan, about as far away from technology as I could reasonably be. It was nice.

Back to work! Cheers

It's finally complete.. there's irony here too. My goal was to build a *small and compact* SFF gaming rig. With dual 240mm AIOs, it a dense and heavy unit now. I need to find space for it on my desk and not under, though.

As for temps, the 9900K gets to 70-75C in 2077 and the GPU 58-62C. Both have Noctua NF-A12 fans and have such a great noise profile at 50% speed (1100-1200 rpm)

I hope everyone has a good new year and gets the card they've been waiting for!

This.  Did I miss something about seasonic psu's?  I just bought a TX-850 Platinum.  I would be upset if there would be an issue.  I have it all put together except for the GPU.

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2021/01/04 06:27:32 (permalink)
Welcome back, everyone!  Don't expect substantial drops this week given the recent Holidays, but fingers crossed January is the month when the last of the September launch day (9/16-9/17) signups are cleared out.  Here's a brief summary of community items for the New Year:
  • If you received a card over the holidays, don't forget to cancel out your queue spots!  This will improve other queue members' likelihood of getting a card sooner.
  • We're still waiting for an official statement from EVGA regarding the 3881, 3883, and 3895 queues that specifically addresses their delayed production, offering queues for them in the first place, launching and fulfilling subsequent SKUs ahead of original SKUs, and some sort of resolution for those affected.
  • Still no solid update on new cards (3050, 3050Ti, 3060, 3070Ti, 3080Ti) or a potential Ampere refresh.  Those are still firmly rumors and speculation best left elsewhere.
  • Be nice, be kind, be courteous, and stay positive.  Don't bait or flame others you disagree with, and try to understand that there are still a large number of upset people in the queue system who want answers.
  • As always, be nice to Jacob, or any member of EVGA staff that posts here!
Welcome to 2021, everyone. Here's to our every tomorrow being better than today!

10G-P5-3881-KR     9/17/2020 9:44:07 PM PT      No

10 SKUs "launched" on 9/16, three of which have queues that still haven't even reached the 9/17 release date.  EVGA: where are the 3881, 3883, and 3895?

This was my comment when realizing that scan.co.uk now only post to mainland England with the UK leaving the EU (I live in Ireland)
Still my suffering is someone elses gain. for those of you looking for a 3090 FTW3 Ultra - they have them instock on scan at the moment. (15:25pm Monday)

Is there any problem with people reporting when they signed up and when their place in queue came up to help others get a rough estimate about how far out their place in queue might be? Having a ball park estimation as to how long it might be for me would be really helpful and could change my plan of action. I am building my first PC and all I need now is a GPU. Also if people have reported when they signed up and when their place in line came up where could I find that information? It would be nice if their was a thread set up for just that.

That's what's been going on.  In my opinion the best resource is this one...

He's only updating it with info of latest confirmed notifications from people posting here so I think it's the best resource to know about what date/time in a given queue EVGA has gotten up to.  He's also putting in how much "time" each queue has moved from the last known round of notifications.  That's also helpful (i.e. if you have a signup which is 8hrs from the current latest known position then also knowing that the queue just moved up 1.5hrs in the last batch of emails gives you a general "feel" for how quickly that queue is being moved through)

Also make sure to keep in mind that each signup notification which is still active gets 8hrs to respond and buy the card when their turn comes up and there's an unknown number of signups for people who (for whatever reason) will end up choosing not to purchase that card which will also "slow" the queue to some degree.  However it'll work out fine eventually because when that person doesn't buy the card then it just means there's 1 more card which is now available for someone else.

From what I saw, EVGA support is open today but the warehouse is not open. No shipping/receiving. :(
Hopefully I get the 1600w PSU that I ordered over the holidays before Friday.
