I don't want to pay $1 over MSRP. But I've been tracking CP 2077 for roughly 2+ years now. It's literally the only reason why I even came back to PC gaming. I'm not about to experience that game on anything less than a 3080. I don't care what the cost is. lol
Maybe that's ridiculous to you. So be it.
This is me pretty much.
Luckily, GeForce Now will allow you to buy the game at launch through Steam and if you don't have a 3080, sign up for a month of at $5, and use their cloud options with RTX on. I would much rather pay $5 than pay $300-$400 buying from a scalper. If it was $50-$100 more, I would consider it.

Look justify your scalping purchases however you want - but if you bought from a scalper you made a bad choice. Delayed gratification issues have been proven multiple times to be indicative of poor decision making overall.

Some of y'all really need to learn how not to let consumer goods control your life.
I'm excited for my 3070 which will let me step up to a 3080 eventually, but I sure as hell am not $400 excited for it, and I'm sure as hell not "let's reward scalpers" excited for it.
The continuing shortage of gear is now partially all of your faults for buying used cards at above MSRP. Congratulations.

I'm in the same boat. CP 2077 is why I am upgrading but I will buy the game and use cloud computing to play it. As long as you have a good internet connection, you probably wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference since it is single-player. I just can't bring myself to pay so much over MSRP and contribute to scalping. If you can and it doesn't bother you, it is your choice. You do you and don't let anyone steal your joy.

Are we maybe overthinking how much of a graphics card CP 2077 needs? Minimum is a 780 3G, Recommended is a 1060 6GB. Has anyone heard what the recommended graphics card is for full Ultra settings?
Who knows, but I am sure it'll run super great on a 3070 until I get a 3080
EVGA does has two systems in place to alleviate the need to buy from a scalper. They have this queue system, and they have a step up program
I signed up for a 3080 on 10/06, definitely not gonna get it anytime soon so I made sure to sign up for the 3070s launch day

Have you tried Escape From Tarkov yet?  It is peak WASD gaming. I really enjoy that game but, sadly, do not currently have a rig that can run it competently...oh, 30 series...wherefore art thou 30 series? flg2010
Honestly.... I paid $300 over list for my x5950.. I don't care if it goes down to list and is widely available in February I want it before the holidays so I can finish my upgrade.
I, too, am waiting for an AMD cpu...I'd take anything between a 5600x and 5900x pretty much, but they are not to be found other than on secondary markets....

I feel like CP 2077 is the reason for most of our upgrades. I'm on a 980Ti and definitely need the 3080. I'll be upset if I don't get one before 12/10 considering XC3 Blacks are FINALLY seeing some movement and notification time but hopefully this week....maybe.

Yeah, for all we know CP 2077 could get delayed until sometime in 2021 giving us all more chances to get the card we desire without supporting scalpers advil

I'm a casual gamer because work and family life takes over most of my time, using a GTX 670 for the past ~8 years. I work through my Steam library of single player games slowly. I recently upgraded the rest of my rig as it was on its last legs with 8 GB RAM and Windows 7, but wanted to wait for Ampere for the GPU. So, I'm still hobbling along with my GTX 670 playing ~5 year-old games. No huge rush for me to upgrade (so, not considering scalpers) but the hype and anticipation is starting to make me go nuts!
Looking like my first notify may be for the 3090 XC3 Ultra (signed up on 10/7), but that's going to be way overkill for my 1440 display. I'm at 9/30 for the 3080 FTW3 Ultra and XC3 Ultra and 9/24 for the XC3 gaming/black. Eagerly following this thread to see the progress. Looks like other brands like the Asus TUF have better thermals than EVGA but I've always had good luck with EVGA cards so I'd like to stay loyal. Thank you for everyone who has helped on this thread.

Given that the 3090 XC3 Ultra queue is at least to 10/5 at 7:39:00 pm...and given how far it moved on this drop...I think you will have a decision regarding the 3090 in the next drop or two (I would estimate you will have that invite email in your in-box before US Thanksgiving). Good luck making that decision...the 3080 Ultras appear stuck on launch day....

Marcelo you've got an incredibly long wait ahead of you - not only did you miss signing up on launch day (or any of the following weeks) you also signed up after the queue was announced. There are thousands of people ahead of you. Honestly cards will probbaly be freely available on all retail sites by the time the queue progresses to that date.
They MIGHT have signed up on launch date, though it is irrelevant in the end I guess. I had the same issue. I had marked "auto-notify" on several cards as soon as they option was there. To be honest though they need to ramp up production a bit, as there is currently a *demand* for the cards. Also, like you, I likewise signed up after the queue. With the way things are going, I may end up getting one from a store before I get a notification that I can buy one from the store.

Are you talking about 4:43 pm on 9/17? I think you are right on the bubble between this week and next (assuming one more drop of that card and one next week (of similar size as what we've seen in the past)). Sorry I don't have better news...but you are close, very close! Good luck!!!
