Quick update, after several attempts and help from several friends I was able to purchase the card.

Woke up this morning and Newegg had in stock RTX cards...  Scalped third-party seller cards, but still, I see that as progress.  There are only so many of us out there willing to spend the loot on 3070+ cards, and as the profit for scalping dries up, the tide will turn.  I know there is the mining argument, but from what I hear, this will affect the lower end cards much more.  Long story short, there are only so many of us who want a $800+ graphics card and can truly afford it.  As COVID stimuli dries up (for now), this is a shrinking demographic.
 
Anyways, like to hop in every few days, stir the pot and then wish people good luck.  See some movement this week at least, so that's awesome, and some familiar names getting the cards they queued for.  Truly good to see.

This week and last has been good to me and those around me :) Steadily closing in on that kingpin as well. #8 when last I checked. I'm going to have a huge decision to make. The kingpin has always been the holy grail, but I will never push oc's enough to call myself worthy of owning one. My 3080ti gets here today. When I pop that in I may like it alot based on what nomoss has been posting about it. Will also probably depend on whether my good work buddy decides if he wants to drop the large casheesh on an upgrade or not. Large enough msrp gap between kp and the ti to make me stop and think long and hard about it.
 
Also good to see folks getting cards. Big drop days around here are an absolute delight. Continued good luck all!

It's Friday. Thirteen days into August. Almost eleven months into this NVIDIA Tech Launch Debacle of 2020-2023™.
 
And while so many of us -- too many of us -- remain on our watch, this week I finally got the sense that we are closer to the end than to the beginning.  The 3897-KL remains in queue announcement date registration congestion and the more recently launched titanium-infused cards remain in their launch hours, but so many others are progressing hours -- if not days -- through their respective timelines. I've seen more and more anecdotal stories of folks cancelling their queue registrations because they were able to pick up a card at a local retailer or via another means.
 
If you are still reading these introductions and summaries, it means that your time has not yet come (or you are just a little messed up in the head...or both). I hope your time comes soon. And for our European brothers and sisters on their watch, I hope the drops start to flow like a summer storm in the plains of Spain; y'all have waited (mostly) patiently and continued to hope against hope. You are overdue (“So say we all.”).

I understand the struggle.  Ended up selling my Kingpin after getting to play with it for a few weeks.  Was super fun but decided in the end the 3080 ti was fine.

I feel the same way. Very happy with my 3080 Ti (now that I managed to get the air bubbles out of the pump), and I don't think the 3090, Kingpin or otherwise, would have made any difference to me. Glad to hear you made it work! It does seem to be getting tougher to resell those high ticket cards, if reports here are accurate.

I was thinking the same thing, but they're taking their sweet time with it. All of the other 3080 variants moved to LHR except for HC

been waiting for what seems like an eternity (as im sure many here have as well) but my time is almost here! 3080 ftw3 ultra applied 1:23am oct 6 2020. come on evga send me that email!!!

I just got a promotion at work, I am now a Customer Support Analyst III, maybe we can keep this good momentum going with the queue..lol  

I'll have to think long and hard about whether to keep my 3070 KR from December or 3090 FTW3 from November vs. this one.  The 3070 runs folding at home 24/7 in my all-purpose server but it uses way less Watts than a 3080 Ti / 3090.  My 3090 is in my main machine for PC game play but I feel like I might be able to downgrade to the 3080 Ti and get by.  I play games at 4k so 3090 is top dog there for sure.
