I won't say "Finally" or "at last" as some of you guys have been here waiting for a year on a GPU, so my salt mining pales in comparison. However, the GPU gods smiled upon me, and my Elite coupon code that I dreaded for being only 5% and for having spun the wheel with no guarantees in mind, almost 2 months ago! (And now that the newly issued elite coupons are no longer good for GPUs, 5% off certainly is better than 0) So, with my Elite 5% off and enewt's (may the amphibian gods bless your way into the ultimate binned Kingpin of your dreams) associate code, I got my state taxes and shipping fees offset which is awesome. I don't understand how the card can draw more power than it's designed to handle. If it overheats it shuts off.

I saw that news article this morning and didn't understand it to much, unless someone is running a under powered PSU that blows or something.
If you search around a bit on the forums here, people were having similar issues with Halo MCC, and some other older games, also tied to framerates skyrocketing in menus. Again, only on 3090s and effectively bricking them. They were all using quality PSUs so that was not the issue.

Another related question… what is better - 1440p on a 34 inch monitor with more frames, or 4K 27 inch and less frames?
More frames. Always more frames. What's the rate of the two monitors?
That depends though... some people play competitive fast-paced games and for them higher framerates are better. Others play slower-paced games with fancy visuals and want an experience; I'd say higher resolution would be preferred. However, at those sizes you'd be hard-pressed to notice the difference between 1440p and 4K. Rather, if you're in the latter group, I would say make sure you get a monitor with good HDR, maybe a VA panel. Or, better yet, just get a TV. OLEDs will be on sale in a few months...

Nice to see the train moving. I already have the 3080 hybrid but I have the means and desire to pick up my 3080 Ti when the queue moves 4 more mins which im fine waiting for.

yes, i know this. But seriously... Im in no rush. and tbh 1500 is toooo damn much to get a xc3... if i was offered the 1200 xc3 model sure... but seriously... Im not giving evga their mark up money when they can still make money and price thing closer to msrp.... also waterblock options for xc3 are rather limited.... i dont think id use the hydro copper block. i dont really see the value in it. ill wait for a 3080 ftw3 hc... 3080 is really the only card im ok with under 1000

Im not giving evga their mark up money when they can still make money and price thing closer to msrp.... also waterblock options for xc3 are rather limited.... i dont think id use the hydro copper block. i dont really see the value in it. ill wait for a 3080 ftw3 hc... 3080 is really the only card im ok with under 1000
Your cost logic makes absolutely no sense my man. The card is the ultra version which should be priced above the msrp threshold already then factor in what a block costs your right around the going price if you got the card non HC and purchased a block and backplate depending on model Ek runs around $220-$230ish shipped for the pair.
