I'd seen rolls of TP trying to sell (not sure if they sold) for $20 or more. Not package, per roll. Folks posting pictures of garages full of it. Space can be created for whatever occasion it seems. Newspaper not a best alternative but for $20/roll...  I buying toilet paper at Costco, so I had some supply at was able to wait until it become available again

Lmao. I never ran out, but it was close at times. We don't have a Costco near us but we do have a Sam's Club, and when they'd bring out a pallet of tp it looked like wolves after a fresh kill lol.. I'm sure you'll get different opinions but I think a 3080 is viable unless you drop to 1080p. I'm sure there's plenty of sources you can check out online that may give you the answer you're looking for such as Jayz 2 cents and Gamers Nexus.

Depends a bit on what you play along with what frame rates you want to hit.

I don't understand how the card can draw more power than it's designed to handle. If it overheats it shuts off.
So, it draws too much power without overheating?

I saw that news article this morning and didn't understand it to much, unless someone is running a under powered PSU that blows or something.

tizz78It's like anything else in the consumer market. Where there is a shortage of a product with high demand there will always be others out to make a profit. Doesn't matter if it's toilet paper or graphics cards, the results are always the same... lol Nope. Toilet paper takes a lot of space and relatively cheap - you have to be "professional scalper" to make money on it. Graphics cards small and expensive, it easy to make money with GPUs, so there "amateur scalpers" step in into this game.

I don't think it's a waste. That's exactly what I will be doing, gaming at 1440p. I have no interest in 4K. I think tizz78 is right. It would be overkill if you were at 1080p.

It sure does sound odd doesn't it? When I first saw reports of this on twitter early this AM, I almost replied to call BS. How would a game do this to a GPU? It would have to be some weird bug in the Nvidia/EVGA driver or firmware that is allowing for a dangerous hardware state to exist ... a bug that this game is somehow triggering regularly. If it was, say, a pure hardware flaw, then it surely would have been exposed by something else at this point given that EVGA 3090s have been around since Q3 of 2020. Hell, I had my EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra running at full tilt on the Witcher III w/ultra settings in 4k and had hours long game sessions no problem!

Absolutely not, todays titles defiantly use all the the Power that this series of card can put out, 3080 is still good value to performance even with the recent cost bump. the Ti is probably not , Its an enthusiast level card at that price

It just depends on what gaming you're doing. Frames wins games in competitive gaming. If you're just looking for the oohs and awes then go for 4k. If you play games live Warzone or Battlefield then I'd go for FPS. Again, this is just my opinion.
