Another related question… what is better - 1440p on a 34 inch monitor with more frames, or 4K 27 inch and less frames?

More frames.  Always more frames.  What's the rate of the two monitors?

That depends though... some people play competitive fast-paced games and for them higher framerates are better. Others play slower-paced games with fancy visuals and want an experience; I'd say higher resolution would be preferred. <snip>

I tried the Samsung G9 34 inch 2K screen and it was impressive.   But I ended up returning it for an LG 950 27 inch 4K screen instead.
For me, I just don't want a screen that large.  27 inch fits my sweet spot, and I have the GPU for 4K gaming.
I can still play games at 2K on this screen at 144 or 160hz and it looks just as good as on the Samsung.
Think it's more of a personal choice, but while you can play 2k on a 4K screen, you cannot do the reverse.

u need to check out the samsung odyssey g7 32 1440p.... 240hz... i have it and its the fastest monitor ive ever used.... i love it. u can get it on sale sometimes around 600 to 500... 

I'm happy with my lg950.  144hz and 4K.  
The odyssey screens are too easy to break anyway.

I remember the days when we would queue for 20 SKUs and then cancel before getting an email...  Or buy them and sell them at cost (well, some of us did).

the problem with that is on the 3080ti i told my friends how much it was they thought i was trying to scalp on them. lol then i showed the price... they r like hell no... thats a rip off.... miners dont want it because its lhr... no gamer NEEDS a 1500 dollar GPU.... its total BS how messed up the whole thing is. remember when manufactures had to put mail in rebates to get u to buy stuff? lol say good bye to that! remember when i bought my 1060 strix i had a 40 dollar rebate at frys and got it for like 230 back in the day.... this is just INFLATION and Supply in Demand.... i really hope things settle back.... but it will only get worse in the next 2 to 3 years im sure, as far as pricing. 

Saddest thing is, the reasonably low priced SKUs are the ones they predict will be short stock long after the higher priced models are readily available.  Basically forcing people to spend.  I don't like the price-point of 3080ti, but EVGA isn't nearly as insane as ASUS and others.

Before you buy that card, you should read this thread. I don't advise buying any model of the 3080 Ti XC3 card until EVGA fixes the issues with this card.

I won't say "Finally" or "at last" as some of you guys have been here waiting for a year on a GPU, so my salt mining pales in comparison.
 
However, the GPU gods smiled upon me, and my Elite coupon code that I dreaded for being only 5% and for having spun the wheel with no guarantees in mind, almost 2 months ago!
(And now that the newly issued elite coupons are no longer good for GPUs, 5% off certainly is better than 0)
 
So, with my Elite 5% off and enewt's (may the amphibian gods bless your way into the ultimate binned Kingpin of your dreams) associate code, I got my state taxes and shipping fees offset which is awesome. Now I'll post guard at my door, eagerly waiting for the delivery truck to stop by. However long it takes.

Well on a Discord channel; Taiwan hit hard by New Covid strain(s.)  Taiwan Nvidia factory effected.  there will be 3060s and 3060 TIs, not a lot of other GPUs.
