Enewt I agree with you on so much but I disagree here my dude & I think your evga bucks total disagrees as well. You have earned your card and you didn't earn it by being selfish. You've earned it by being helpful. Sounds like you may be a little addicted to the fight though based on a later post ;) It's ok you can lay it down and accept this.
Maybe I'll feel differently down the road...but right now my incremental frustration is being converted into feistiness. It could be the audio track of the Epic vs. Apple trial (Day 4) on in the background, but I am not ready to throw in the towel yet....

There is no mystery. A lot of people were competing for a few queue spots. Not everyone gets a prize.
It was all timing + a little luck.
The mystery is why launch with a handful of cards. Timing, luck, sure. I lean more towards luck, but timing mattered. The bigger mystery is why launch with ~ 50 cards? And why leech from the KPE drops for such a shallow drop. There are mysteries, but nothing devious. Just weird.
I don't think there was anything out of the ordinary with this drop. At least they announced it in advance which is more than can be said about the initial Kingpin and hybrid launch. It also doesn't surprise me that the auto-notify is not static. Maybe they don't want a queue that stretches beyond the total number of cards they plan to manufacture. I know I wouldn't want to be #2088 in a queue where only 1500 cards will ever be built. As for the ~50 cards.... It could have been 500 cards and it still wouldn't be enough. It just trying to look at it through a glass-half-full lens. 50 cards is better than zero cards, in other words.

I am not sure if it was Elite only or everybody. My understanding going into it, is that it was supposed to be Elite only as it was a new product launch. The Kingpin Hybrid also remains Elite-only to this day, so...
It wouldn’t have mattered either way. The way “the elite thing” has been blared about, everyone and their cat (my two cats included), even kids that said “I don’t know what my mom say for my buying a $2k card” have become elite over the last week. We’ll wait, and we’ll endure. I guess there are more micro center trips in my future. Perhaps Fizzik will come and keep me company in that queue since we both seem to be MD peeps.

As for the ~50 cards.... It could have been 500 cards and it still wouldn't be enough. It just trying to look at it through a glass-half-full lens. 50 cards is better than zero cards, in other words.
I'm only guessing, but with 20 seconds or less, I think that feels right. Their site didn't buckle, so I figure it's ballparkish enough. Maybe 100, but not much more. And sure, it is good that those went out. However, I know a guy that needs one of those cards. He's letting his pride dictate his words, but pride is never your friend. I'm also using the word need, because it's like some people need a hug. No one "needs" a hug, but they definitely would be better off with a hug. Similarly, if you ocd track these things all in part of the long game of getting that hc kpe..

For sure in the DMV. I imagine other states have terrible drivers as well at a high per capita rate. But damn, you see someone driving on the wrong side of the street.. busting u's everywhere, or just otherwise driving like a maniac. Chances are in the DMV that person has MD plates. So hopefully you don't kill yourself driving like a maniac to the MicroCenter there in Rockville or wherever.

This is really about just getting evidence into the record. Small points being made here and there, but no Matlock moment. It is a bench trial (to the judge, not a jury), so this will be hashed out among the judge and her clerks at the conclusion of closing arguments. I really think it will come down to how adventurous the judge is willing to be. From her questions, she is clearly smart and has children who game, but she is not herself a gamer (some judges are; you might be surprised). On balance, I think the Apple attorneys are slightly better prepared than Epic's counsel, but not materially so. You can tell that both sides are tiring and will need the weekend to regroup a bit (small errors are popping up...forgetting to offer exhibits, etc.). All in, though, very competent on both sides. They have just restarted following lunch.... But the audio is probably pretty boring unless you know some of the participants personally or are a lawyer/recovering lawyer...or just need background audio for comfort during these trying times.... jinlingz

Holy cow...another bone dust dry week for the 3897. I don't begrudge the Step Up queue receiving their just dues, but please flow a few to the regular queue. Congrats to all that got their cards this week. 3060's seem to have rained down in bounteous quantity. It isn't the one I signed up for when I could get on the website at 09:34. However, it seems to be rapidly approaching the 19:00 time I thought about hitting the 3657 notify. KP is a little rich for my blood, but I hope all those wanting one get the opportunity.
Have a great weekend. We go again next week. I feel some cards coming...

If only 3755 or 3767 would just skip ahead to 11/24. I was really hoping to squeeze in before the price increases next week, but it's not looking like that will happen. My only consolation is that my current card, a 2060 Super FE, is still fairly desirable. I'm hoping that I can get enough out of selling it to cover my 3070 at EVGA's price (whatever it ends up being).

You know on election night how politicians are supposed to have two speeches in their pocket...one for if they win and one if they don't? Well, I don't think I've ever truly appreciated how hard that must be to write ahead of time. I am writing this at 1:50 pm PT, so clearly I didn't pull together my thoughts in advance. I had assumed my slow F5 skills would put me squarely mid-table in the queue...I never contemplated that I would be shut out. Suffice it to say that despite all my F5 training, the extra pay and increased vacation time I offered my right pointer finger, and asking my wife to log into her 9 am Zoom call at 9:01 am (and not a minute earlier), I failed to secure a spot in the Kingpin HC queue. It isn't my finger's fault...it performed admirably under trying circumstances. I was in at 9:00:02 but "something broke" on the EVGA side of the equation and my click was never registered...I am not alone in this, I share this fate with a sizable number of unfortunate "Elite" souls. So, at least for the time being, my watch continues...but this one hurt. I've tried to keep track of the "invite to purchase" emails that came in today, but I was a bit distracted...so apologies in advance if I missed any reports...I will catch up tomorrow (I promise). It wouldn’t have mattered either way. The way “the elite thing” has been blared about, everyone and their cat (my two cats included), even kids that said “I don’t know what my mom say for my buying a $2k card” have become elite over the last week.
We’ll wait, and we’ll endure. I guess there are more micro center trips in my future. Perhaps Fizzik will come and keep me company in that queue since we both seem to be MD peeps.
I know it’s crazy, but if you are talking about me when you say kid, well I’m in the queue for cards that aren’t 2K. That isn’t an accurate portrayal of what queue’s I’m in. KPe w/ 20% off is 1500. 3987 w/ 20% off is 1500. 3897 w/ 20% off is 640. Also I’ve been elite for about 2-3 weeks now. Also: damn 3070 FTW3 is moving fast.

You know on election night how politicians are supposed to have two speeches in their pocket...one for if they win and one if they don't? Well, I don't think I've ever truly appreciated how hard that must be to write ahead of time. I am writing this at 1:50 pm PT, so clearly I didn't pull together my thoughts in advance. I had assumed my slow F5 skills would put me squarely mid-table in the queue...I never contemplated that I would be shut out.
Suffice it to say that despite all my F5 training, the extra pay and increased vacation time I offered my right pointer finger, and asking my wife to log into her 9 am Zoom call at 9:01 am (and not a minute earlier), I failed to secure a spot in the Kingpin HC queue. It isn't my finger's fault...it performed admirably under trying circumstances. I was in at 9:00:02 but "something broke" on the EVGA side of the equation and my click was never registered...I am not alone in this, I share this fate with a sizable number of unfortunate "Elite" souls. So, at least for the time being, my watch continues...but this one hurt.
I've tried to keep track of the "invite to purchase" emails that came in today, but I was a bit distracted...so apologies in advance if I missed any reports...I will catch up tomorrow (I promise). Regarding tomorrow, unless EVGA has something surprising up its sleeves, I expect tomorrow to be relatively quiet across most of the queues...but...say it with me..."Hope Springs Eternal!"
