I don't get the timestamp thing.  Can someone explain?  

When you click the Auto Notify to be added to the queue, the time stamp is when you clicked the button.
 
There's a spreadsheet where people can add their timestamp for the product as well as when they receive their purchase notification to help keep the community up to date on where we are in the queue.

OK, believe it's the die and only the die that's a problem.  Nevermind the things that make the die possible and the suppliers necessary to get the die made.  It's all one companies fault.  
If simple explanations for complex systems is your thing, it's your thing.

The BB Canada listing for 10G-P5-3885-KR was just pulled a few minutes ago.  It was apparently there last on April 1st.  Only EVGA cards left there are 12G-P5-3657-KR and 08G-P5-3667-KB.

Could it have been B-stock? There was a 1070Ti available a bit ago for around $389ish

I suspect that Nvidia's production has shifted gears.  The last three BB drops were pathetic and not much has been moving here either.  I'm guessing that they are ramping up production of the much higher MSRP 70/80 Ti series chips that will ship with a mining limiter (how long it actually lasts is anyone's guess) and whatever doesn't make the cut for those is going into their new CMP cards with an even higher markup.  And from a business perspective, why wouldn't they?  They know that mining demand is fickle and will eventually disappear while gaming demand will always be there.  Given AMD's seeming inability to compete with the 30 series cards, even if you hate the company, their product is so good that you don't really have a choice.
 
I firmly believe that while there may be some supply related issues, the sole reason that months later you still can't buy these cards is mining.  Miners (new, FOMO miners in particular) are the ones paying the scalpers prices.  That's what's feeding this vicious cycle.  I also suspect that demand will cool after July once ETH implements EIP-1559 and mining profitability is significantly cut.  That combined with rapidly increasing difficulty and POS around the corner and ETH mining's days are numbered.

Yup and just like I said (if that happens) they will basically kill queues here (I suspect there already adding the 3897 to the list of dead ones since we didn't get a drop in 6 weeks) in favor of the TI so you will have to requeue and restart from the very beginning and be put on the same level of people that either queued months after you or just recently, even though you've been waiting for months already before them.
 
Then the same laughable mess with the TI will happen again: will take forever to be able to click the notify button followed by months and months of not getting a card because thousands and thousands of people will have queued for it.
 
Than that queue will again be killed eventually shortly after because the 40xx will be announced and they will gear up for that.
 
Rinse and repeat again and again, basically constantly waiting in a queue and never getting a card. Brilliant.
