I really like this case but there is just one problem with it for me; no optical drive. I need just one optical drive for my Blu-Ray burner / HD-DVD player and I don't really want to give it up. Besides that, I want this case.

X99 dark might come out with broadwell-e? I would love to get x99 with things like usb-c and a custom pin for cpu but looks like will have to wait.

But then I have to buy a new external drive just for the case. And then that also means that I have to find a place to put the drive outside of the case. I have never liked external dives at all; I want everything of my computer to fit in my case. If I have a humongous case like my HAF-X or this new case, I expect everything to fit into it. Sorry, but buying an external drive for a huge case that has plenty of room just seems silly to me and unnecessary. Edit: just went looking and couldn't find an external Blu-ray burner / HD DVD player. So I actually would not have the drive I want/need, I would have to down grade.

External optical drives costs more. No reason at all for a full tower case not to have a 5.25 bay. Lots of people still use optical drive. With anti consumer copyright laws, people are not allowed to rip bluray or dvds movies to digital form. I see optical drives being around for many years to come. If people buy evga 9800Ti VR edition, they won't be able to use the USB bay (5.25) in EVGA upcoming full tower case. That makes buying evga VR edition graphics cards pointless. I think evga made a mistake by not adding optional 5.25 bay.

Eh seems ever since Shamoo(Forgot the correct spelling!) left EVGA for ASUS not a lot of wise choices have been made at EVGA.

I think people forget that both of these products are concept and not in production yet. the VR does have 4 usb ports for powering a VR headset which evga acknowledged already, and the tower was said to not be final. As far as we know the case could have a VR panel built into it already, and that could be their ace up their sleeve. I doubt they are going to leak every detail of their case so someone like thermaltake can steal their idea and manufacture it before evga does.

They still need to add in one spot for an optical drive before I buy it though. And I don't see any reason why they would have hid it for secrecy. Having it down at the bottom of the side by the fan controller would be a good place to put it. That way it doesn't interfere with the three 120mm fans in the front if you want to add the other 360mm radiator. They could even place it on the back, I don't care where one gets put, I just need one.

Hopefully EVGA will listen to everyone's concerns and add the 5.25 bay along with one or two more goodies to the production model.

the main audio chip, the little small ones look like op amps to me. Jacob said the product shown at CES isn't the final product. Q2-Q3 is when we might see it released. I emailed jacob for more information but no reply back yet.

Where did EVGA acknowledge that the VR USB bay will have 4 USB ports. It doesn't look like a concept accessory to me. EVGA should reach out to tech sites that wrote article about it to give them an update.

Yup, I stated the same thing twice. They look like op amps. The DAC stuff should be handled under that shielded cover, in my opinion. As I also stated a couple times, it is interesting that those two chips are socketed and appear to be user replaceable depending on user preference. The audio"fool" types should like that.

Even single graphic card with Hybrid cooling and EVGA AIO CPU cooler will look nice in this case. This picture show... below place for sound card. Only need 2-3 EVGA zip ties for tubes...

seyumi EVGA has my attention with that new case but it's a bit useless for the amount of radiator/fan support. Funny they're showing off 4 GPUs & a CPU off a single 360mm rad which is a bit of a joke. It looks like it supports a 2nd 360mm rad which is then adequate but then what are you left with? 1-2 intake or exhaust fans? I think to save this case they need to make it a bit wider (like a cube case) and put 9 fans on the back panel for intake or exhaust.
The radiator size limitations are the only negative I really see here. 2x360 is small and some of us love a bit of overkill! I'd love to see this with room for 2x480 or even 2x420 and a 360.

MSim My only advice to evga about the case, ditch the word Gaming on it. Just have EVGA on it.
Or make that part so it can be removed and sell us many different colors, text, designs, etc. for it. Sounds like some of this still has some time before it comes out but wow, I can see buying a lot of this. Especially LOVE the case so far. Can't wait.

2x360 is more than enough for any standard enthusiast computer you might build. And power demands keep dropping year after year. Maybe if you had a dual CPU server board with chipset water blocks and quad SLI or something... But then you would want a bigger case anyway. It seems to me that those are two different markets and that this computer case is plenty adequte for the market it is designed for.

As someone with 4x480mm and 1 360mm, with two loops, I can comfortably say that this case will have more than enough unless you are running quad sli, and then it may be a little less than desired. For standard systems, 2x360 works the same as "overkill" :-)

Dont think evga is marketing this toward "air cooled" users. There is alot of emphasis on water cooling and how the case works with their new aio coolers. Evga been putting alot of focus on their hybrid coolers and they are very popular. They see a opportunity to expand on that and offer a dedicated case.

It would also be nice if the two 120mm exhaust fans on the back could also mount a 240mm radiator. I wouldn't need more than two 360mm rads, but for those that think it's not enough.
