well, i set the ram to stock speeds at 1600. turned off all the c1 etc etc, but once i try to set the multiplier to manual i cant get it to be stable. either turns off with blue screen, saying it crashed, or just hangs on a black screen and wont save the bios after i clear cmos because after it crashes it wont post and i have to start over again.

Try to leave RAM on 1333MHz, first to see is it possible to OC CPU somehow. What happen on stock settings with Turbo Enable (3.9GHz)??? Best is to try and with two ram stick...

ive tried with eist on and off, ia core current at 896 and 2050 with the corresponding settings but tried with pll on and off. anytime i make a small change i see if it posts, and it does until i change the multiplier. once i change the multiplier to manual it just wont work. i have a h100i and set the mulitplier to a conservative 4.0 just to see if it posts but it just wont work

Board is very simple for OC but how behave with Sandy Bridge that is question. With few things you should boot on 4500MHz if board work... than only is question stability... Off course don't forget increase voltage.

Forget on 4.6GHz, difference between 4.5 and 4.6 is nothing. But between 3.5 and 4.5 is very good difference. Pure Processor speed. Even for x45 multiplier you need more voltage for complete stability. EVGA Performance Tweak turn Enable Internal PLL Voltage Override I hold on Disable for x45 you can try both. For RAM I think it'safer to keep on Manual not XMP Profile. EIST is discutable...I got some messages about different processor cores in Event Viewer until I didn't Disable and EIST but that didn't make some problems on Enable.

stress testing right now using prime95 just to be sure. been testing for 20 mins so far and no errors so with those settings more or less and a 2600k on this mobo with new bios 1.22 seems to be stable around 4.5ghz. I use a h100i and by the looks of the temps i should have room to push it more, but i couldnt get past 4.6 without crashing, so for now 4.5 is good. any other setting tips are greatly appreciated. thank you guys.

Why more. You need to leave Prime95 at least 2-3h. Turn max speed on fans and start test when you are at home but don't use PC. Than much better is to find lower voltage for 4.5GHz because more than 4.5-4.6GHz influence on shorter Processor life and degradation is 100% only question how long need when you fast start to see instability on less and less OC. Itell you 4500MHz is perfect balance between speed and saving processor and motherboard. Example for me 4.2GHz is nothing, than better leave on Turbo and save money on everything. Special now with Haswell Processors. But 4.5GHz is nice number...4.8GHz doesn't mean you will have better result of graphic card. Sometimes even influence in different way. I forgot to tell you I saw and some stability test in Intel Extreme Tuning Utility software, for Memory and Processor. I think it'snot good to change settings inside but you can try and that stability test, but I'm not sure in accurate of that. Prime95 is most stressful and more accurate than any other. And one more thing, you can try VDroop on 25%. That can influence to voltage stay on exactly your settings, because numbers in BIOS and under Load are always little difference.

Did you saw new Prime95 28.3, I test last night with max 79C on highest core after more than 4-5h, on 4.5GHz... just to check stability I didn't test last 3 months...But my processor somehow work on low voltage but it's hottest than some other sample... I couldn't leave on 1300v example... That would be 95C and with 4.5GHz... lucky I don't need so much for stability... and I finish all test on 1200V. I set offset to keep that 1.200V not to go on 1.210-1.215V First you should try to drop clock on 4.5GHz and find best voltage for that... and set 25% offset... Example let's try 4.5GHz 1.250V first, If one worker stop that could mean you need more voltage... And I think one 120mm radiator is small for overclocking Ivy Bridge on 4.5-4.6GHz... That's for Sandy more... You need some good all in one system with 240mm radiator as CORSAIR H100i, NZXT Kraken with fans on maximum during Prime95. I do that over night because it's to loud for room where I sleep. Off course set all settings like Jacob describe... I just before few days look some people can't overclock more than 4.5GHz 3770K and with H100i, simply temps are high, depend of sample.

I'm new EVGA board owner, all the times i used ASUS before, and finelly i've got the EVGA. It's look impressive board, but i'm not find OFFSET Voltage options for dynamic changing OC Voltage and not loose all the Intel specs. With OFFSET V i need only to find how much Voltage i need to add to origin Voltage and it's stay to up and down frequency and V with loading. I don't want to up voltage all the time for OC, only depending to loading. Please, tell me, if this board has it and if can, what i need change in BIOS for get it. Thank you.

Believe me I keep 28 months constant 1200V. With little pause maybe 2 months when I keep stock and little more when I push CPU higher than 4.5GHz. That mean constant 4.5GHz, 1200V. 24h... It's problem because after OC I didn't found solution how to keep 4.5GHz in load and 1200V and in idle and during surfing to work on 1.5GHz and 0.xxxV...Only to Enable Turbo 3.9GHz, without OC further with C1 enable and EIST Enable. Than CPU clock and voltage will drop, but MAX Clock under load will not go over 3.9 Turbo. But EVGA boards are know as strong from that part and she can work 5 years more on 4.5GHz... Even my Processor didn't present 0% of degradation and can work stable on 1.175V but I keep 1.200V just in case. Different situation is if someone need 1.300V for 4.5GHz... Than can be problem, but 1.150V and 1200V it's very little difference for hardware. And I love my board, I enjoy every time when I clean dust with brush. Second thing is for overclocking even with Manual settings Turbo must stay Enable...

Yep, you're righto about the difference between 1.15 and 1.2V, but you forget for idle 0.8V and 1.25V loaded difference. I'm not carry about silicon degradation, but it must be work if it works on other boards from ASUS and Ggigabyte for example. After several days of testing the board i very disappoint with it. It has SO MANY bugs that i can say: its really good look bad board! As i sayed before, forget about dynamic overclocking. OK, but it's not only the problem. I tried ALL the BIOSes find here, but with all of them the board not working properly with my GSkill memory, it's can't to work with XMP profile, not post at all, but this not problem for me too. I can't OC my system at all, because if i change multiplier in BIOS, the system stops to wake up from sleep!!!! It's really not ON the display. When it's not start from BIOS changes, you need to go into the case and push the CC button! It's strange to see it, because today most of boards starts with default settings after unsuccessful post. Maximum you need off the PSU power for default start. And more and more etc... It's first board for many-many years with so many troubles. Don't forget the price of the subj and you'ii understand why i think that it's really BAD BOARD!

So I just wanted to say THANK YOU for making this thread, I Google'd how to overclock my EVGA Z77 FTW and I end up here. You're using the same board, processor and graphics card as me. What a coincidence. So I thought to myself, "Perfect!!!". Anyways, getting to the point, I'm just getting started and one of the first steps is to change your CPU Mult. Control to 'Manual'. After doing that my CPU multiplier setting is at 35 and underneath in gray writing it says "Target CPU frequency 3500MHz". This isn't shown is your screenshot tho, it only shows your Multiplier at 46. Any idea why? Today is my first day doing this lol. Thanks for your time.

You must have tweaked something you weren't suppose to tweak. Clear your cmos and try again.

Hi I think the problem is the CPU voltage there isn't an option to change it, and the entry 1250 is missing.

There's no entry for that, even when I change it to manual, nor can you adjust the CPU voltage. I will get some screenshots, and post them.

I remembered my EVGA Z77 FTW, now when I saw first picture Jacob posted, so beautifull board. No doubt that was nicest FTW board EVGA ever launched, easy for overclocking. I hope EVGA will have something nice mATX for Z390. 1x PCI-E x16 slot 1x PCI-E x8 slot 1x PCI-E x4 slot 2x M.2 slots. 2x DIMM Ports Than I could evolve to i7-9700K before completely drop value of X99. At least to cover price of processor with my parts.
