Hello every one!
First post be gentle with me.

I was wondering for all Z690 Classified users how is your experience with a 13th gen cpu and RTX 4080 or RTX 4090 gpu, on Windows 10 or MUST i use windows 11 super spying OS?

Been lurking and reading the forum posts it does seem that people encounter issues with 13th gen cpu and RTX 4000 gpu's on Z690.
I am in particular worried/interested in flashing the BIOS without a cpu. Flashing the BIOS with a 12th gen cpu is not an issue.
I checked all solutions prior to posting this thread.

But the most important thing is feedback from people who use a EVGA Z690 Classified or Dark with a 13th gen cpu and RTX 4000 gpu and what their personal experiences are. In particular people who flashed the BIOS without a cpu of course people who flashed their bios with a 12th gen cpu are also very welcome!

Can people tell me the best course of action is to have the best experience?
for example:

1 - Update BIOS to latest via USB flash as per manual steps.
2 - Do i need to disable or enable some KEY features on the BIOS so the mb recognize the new RTX 4000 card? Like use legacy or UEFI etc
3 - Intel ME Firmware update this can solve certain issues with 13th gen cpu on a Z690 ie drives are not seen.
4 - Update BIOS for the RTX 4000 card to counter "black screen" issues.
5 - 13th gen cpu is a "K" version so it has build in gpu just in case i need it then hook it up on HDMI mb this should be a work around for?
6 - Enable or disable certain Windows 10 options?

I just worried for problems and stress so i ask it here first what to do in order to have good experience.

FWIW -- the Zotac RTX 4090 will not fit in the Z690 Classified (not mine anyhow), the PCI-e appears to be too recessed (I suppose because of the M.2 and maybe there is chipset under there cooling).

Sadly, I am waiting on an RMA from Zotac's reseller.

So, I would definitely make sure they support the Z690 Classified before forking over $2k.

    Good luck!

I flashed my bios to 2.06 while I was on 12th gen. I was using a 12900k with a 3080 10GB FTW3 Ultra Gaming LHR, and windows 10. Used for about 8 months.

I am now on a 13900k with an MSI 4090 Gaming X Trio, side-graded to windows 11. Still no issues and just as stable as before.

    1. I put the file onto a USB drive, rebooted into the bios, and flashed it front within.
    2. I have been running the bios basically factory defaults. The only settings I made sure were enabled were rebar, and XMP.
    3. I have had no issues that I can speak of, I'm not sure what the Intel ME Firmware update does.
    4. I have not experienced any black screen issues.
    5. I have a "k" CPU, I have never had to use the onboard video as of yet.
    6. I run windows 11, but while on windows 10 I didn't notice anything that made me want to explore.
