Thanks for the information. I'm just committed to waiting now. I really hope the board can be delivered before the week of Christmas though.

I hope when the Dark is released they don't have like 2 boards to sell and then if you miss out you have another month to wait.

If you're referring to the 2080ti ftw3 delays, sounds like that was more to do with Nvidia than EVGA

Yea man, at this point gotta wait it out. I know I'd be super mad at myself if I bought something now as opposed to waiting a few more weeks and see the Dark get rave reviews. I'm going to be doing a dry run (not actually dry) of my cooling setup over the next week or so. Gonna clean the radiators, tubing, fittings, etc, and set everything up as if it were for real. This way I can test all the fittings for leaks (minus the CPU block) and make sure my tubing routes are gonna work the way I'm envisioning.

Welp, so much for the $240 Aorus Master price. We need/want *way* more information about this board if we're to wait until mid-late December, since we've no reason to not expect *January* at this point.

I bet there are quite a few similarities to the FTW manual, minus hardware configuration

This is what has me the most worried. Typically by now we'd have heard about an expected MSRP, but the lack of any and all information, especially *that* specific information, feels a lot like "we can't tell them it's going to be $449-499 because then a good number of them just go buy our competitor's products instead of continuing to wait for ours." Hell, even an official coming in here with a "hey everyone, sorry for the delays - we're really thankful you're all so enthusiastic about the product." But no, we have to basically 'ambush' EVGA staff on social media to get even the smallest bit of information. First it was "mid-to-late November," then it was "sometime in December," now it's "mid-to-late December." I mean, come on.

I'm going 16gb too, but 4133mhz And the 9900k box is SO unnecessary. Looks cool but completely pointless.

through my years of doing this, the extra memory speed gains will by minimal. For benching scores normally. You get your nice score then all the sudden guys like kingpin humble you. Him and 3,000 other people. so, I elected to hit close to 3200 on this one.

Mutt Slayer High/higher end always is. Cost per increase goes up at an increasing rate, lol. Just dropped $500+ on new Water cool stuff. $100 extra for a board is not huge in the scheme of things. If the Extra water cool stuff nets returns on the Formula, then that's great.
High-end products are always expensive, I can agree with that point. However, paying $450 for a MOBO with an average at best VRM that you will liquid cool, increasing the temps of your loop and having no impact on performance seems a little bit silly. And hey, I don't mind one less F5 competitor for the Dark, but I think the Formula is the biggest MOBO ripoff I've ever seen.
Not sure I would totally agree with "biggest ripoff". I'm cooling just the CPU with a 480 X 60mm radiator. Not concerned the VRM is going to over power the cooling. I will have a second loop as well for the GPU. The one thing right now that makes me not buy it are the power connections on the dark. Having them turned to face motherboard edge just makes so much sense and will clean up the case a ton. But I doubt I'm going to wait that long. Maybe 6 months from now I will switch to Dark. I've played this game with EVGA before. They already went from November to December.... To mid/late December. Could be January or February. Saw a lot of guys who wanted to step up lose the option. Might even look at the Asus Extreme. I figured I'm not interested in the MSI godlike but the extreme would be on the list if Microcenter would get one.

Good video. essentially at 16:05 into the video He explains taking the speed and dividing by the CL, gives you a number and the higher number is better when considering purchases. thanks. great post. someone give that man a ribbon.

Unfortunately I had already made my memory purchase and built my system when Buildzoid made those videos. I would have picked a different package then what I have. On my phone posting this, can look up what I have versus what I would rather have gotten when I get home and update this post.

Well, to be fair, there isn’t really a whole lot more to say regarding the Z390 boards at present. To summarize the last three weeks of comments: we want the Dark and many of us are sitting on >$2500 worth of computer parts with no way to use them. EVGA isn’t releasing the Dark fast enough for our liking and every once in a while someone threatens to buy the Gene or one of the many Gigabyte boards instead because the Asus Maximus Hero/Formula/Code line is disappointing so those are the only viable alternatives. That being said, the ram thing was a bit of a tangent.

GGTV-Jon I made a new post in the General Hardware section to move this whole memory conversation as not to really drive this Z390 Motherboard announcement thread off topic any further Memory topic convo is HERE!! <--Yes peoples click the link
It's not just this - it's the fact that EVGA has to be demonstrably *pressed* to give up *any* information about the DARK, and even then, just the smallest tidbits of information. I've been in this thread for about half a dozen pages now, and the recent and complete lack of official response or presence over these past two months is both noticeable and vexing. During the last EVGA webcast, the Twitch chat was alight with "talk about the Z390 DARK" comments, and Jacob seemed reluctant to even engage it, finally telling us all "sometime in December" just to shut us up. Now it's "mid-to-late December." There's no reason why we shouldn't 'guesspeculate' it won't slip into January at this point. I can't speak for all of us, but I want information. Since we obviously can't be told *when*, I want to know *how much*, because I'm pretty sure that's information EVGA has. They know how much the board costs to make and how much they have to charge for it to make a profit.

This sums it up perfectly. If every 4-5 weeks we are being told its another 4-5 weeks for two straight months with parts just sitting in boxes it gets frustrating. I just gave in and bought a low budget temp board and I'm willing to swap out when the dark arrives because I can't stand the risk of being told in late December that it will now be late January. I want to use all these new parts I purchased in October. Even just letting everyone on here pre-order the board would be a step in the right direction.
