Hello everyone!

I've been testing my EVGA TORQ X5 Optical with FW34 for a while now, and just saw there was a FW update. I updated to FW36 and it has more smoothing than FW34. Where can I download FW34?

Thanks.

If you go to the EVGA main website, click the Support tab, under Product Info. there is an option for Drivers and BIOS. Select 'Other Products' tab and use the drop downs to find the mouse. UNCHECK the box that says 'SHOW LATEST DRIVER' and you will see a full list of past drivers.

Sorry, I'm not retarded, already found that. The oldest driver (1.0.10) contains FW35.

    Hi,

I am sorry for any confusion and I can confirm that we are looking into if FW34 is available to assist.

I am only trying to help. I do not see a way to downgrade the firmware. Lets narrow things down a bit, are you using the Unleash software and Windows 8 or 10? I would try running it in compatibility mode. If that doesn't work maybe you can downgrade to an older version of Unleash. Have you used the FW35 and you are having the same issues?

I could downgrade with a trick to FW35 and same issue.

If you could provide the EVGA_X5_34.hex file it would be enough.

    Thank you for your help.

I am still searching for the FW34, no luck yet. I have seen on the forums here and on Amazon that running the software in Windows Safe Mode has worked for some people on FW36. Try it out and let us know if this is a possible fix.

hello,im a new happy owner of this mouse, except for the feets(a little too thin for me),i love the torq x5 ;) after few days playing cs and few test with enotus mouse tester and paint.tested with software installed but off and tested only 400-450-500-550 dpi,1000hz,windows sens default, accelleration off. im sure some (too much) smoothing is there,it also appear not very constant but come as spikes..enotus tester read each time a different value varying from 12% to 20% and more.i got many gaming mouse and none have  such random smoothing results(roccat pure military, logitech g100s,intellimouse,cm alcor and few more)in the worst case the results only differ by 3% and none go above 14%.also on paint making straight lines, circles and writing something, is clearly visible that some lines are good, uniform and not jagged at all, other are a little jagged, other more jagged and other much more.however this isnt stopping me from having very good games even after so short time i own it,but this weird act of the sensor is always a little perceptible especially on desktop.so pls evga can you investigate and see if you can fix it?thx evga.

i think i've found the problem here..i tried to set 500 hz polling rate and now any dpi(at least the steps i use 400-450-500-550)have nice and consistent smoothing results, from about 7% to 11%,even better before i closed the software i guess.thats impressive nice job evga ;) polling rate seems very stable, but on 1000hz the smoothing go up to 20% while on 500hz is nice, never over 12%.most users now go with 1000hz so pls evga fix it asap.

I concur this mouse is phenomenal. The software it comes with has many nice and beneficial features, kind of similar to that of the Razer/TRON software (which I had). So it's really nice to have. I like how I can customize the buttons on the right of the mouse to be used for other purposes other than raising/lowering the DPI polling rate.

    Greetings.

I am considering buying this mouse, as it seems like the ideal 3988 sensor mouse for my tastes and I've wanted to try this sensor for a while.
However, there is one concern I have and that is the supposed additional smoothing that was added in later firmware versions. Without this potential issue, this mouse could fill a great niche as an esports mouse with that particular shape and side buttons on both sides and its low weight.

One mention (and the last post) of the supposed problem by an owner on overclock.net 4 weeks ago in their 62 page long torq x5 thread:
Someone did some mousetester tests vs i think it was a G100S with stock ootb firmware (FW34) and the latest one and there was more smoothing across the board. I asked about a downgrade possibility to check and run the tests myself and they only replied "thanks for the input" lol. Super disappointed. Not even JacobF (I think thats his name) replied to my email about it.

Needless to say super disappointed in EVGA.

I wonder if the firmware .hex file can be messed around with to that level. If you rename it to a higher number it will try flashing but there's no FW34 file and FW35 has the extra smooving bits apparently as well. Don't know if its software interference I don't have that review bookmarked it seems.

I've seen other people mention it as well, and I'm sure it will influence others than myself on whether to buy it or not when they research the mouse. I just want to know if this (esports usefulness) is taken seriously or not and/or if the mouse is effectively abandoned by EVGA when it comes to firmware improvement.

Thank you in advance for your answer.
