Sorry if someone asked this.
Since Nvidia's new heatsink fan cooler design is fairly expensive,
Hope that some of the hydro copper "premium" would be offset by some of that cost.
Are they designing a new PCB layout since Nvidia's reference pcb is odd shaped?.
Kingpin PCB layout and design is usually different than reference design anyway.
Any cost estimates?.

I'm looking to get a 3090 HC whenever it releases. I was planning on getting a air cooled card and an EK block, but with every AIB using their own custom design, I am hesitant to get a "reference" waterblock this time around and might as well just get a custom block.

Has EVGA commented at all on the stories we've seen on places like TPU regarding some Ampere cards crashing to desktop when they go above 2GHz? They had a story today talking about the capacitor quality possibly being the cause. Since I'm ready to buy a HC model, I'm curious if this is something EVGA is currently researching or maybe it's not an issue on EVGA cards?

This is my concern as well. I've always bought EVGA graphics cards - I am worried about buying a 3090 if it will be a poor overclocker, especially under custom water cooling. Hopefully this will be addressed soon. But I'm guessing that PCB layout and component choices are probably too late in the design/test/manufacture cycle to change.

I'd be shocked if they released a updated or "TI" version with less memory than AMD's new cards. Considering there were already SKU leaks for a 20gb card I would say it's closer to reality than your suggestion.

Depends on if/when the Micron 2GB chips are ready. Might not be ready for a January launch since I think that was the stated likely availability of the memory modules from Micron. So could end up with different SKUs if they have to launch in January. Or could be pushed back a bit. Not seeing huge competition from AMD right now. And lack of stock in general means it doesn't matter what card you put out because whatever is there, people will buy. Competition only matters when you're trying to steal sales from someone else. When you don't have stock to steal from them, nor do they have any stock to sell, it becomes a moot point. So could end up having a delayed Ti launch for both of those reasons.

They gave an update in their live stream two weeks ago. There was an issue with the original design and they had to fix it before the waterblocks could go into production. They have no ETA and this info is as of their live stream two weeks ago. I am not sure if they have fixed the issue, if the block are in production or if they are on a boat. Considering boat travel is ~6 weeks I would assume late February at the earliest. I believe there was auto notify open for a couple hours whent he HC were first announced and it has been shut ever since. Those in the existing cue will get order priority.

Why would these travel by boat? Just curious... in such small batches as RTX 30xx cards have been getting released and with such an obscene lead time, surely they aren't being put on boats dozens/hundreds at a time to be sold six weeks later in the states...
