I purchased a 2080 FTW3 Hybrid card from EVGA and it arrived a couple of days ago. Upon installing the card, I opted to swap out the included radiator fan with 2 ThermalTake Pure Plus 12 RGB radiator fans in a push/pull configuration (exhausting the air out of the back of the case). I now have the unused fan power cable velcro'd to one of the AIO lines. Since I have no intention of utilizing this power cable, I'd like to remove the GPU shroud and tuck the power cable back underneath it. From my initial inspection it looks like there is plenty of room to tuck the power cable between the AIO pump and inside of the shroud.

With that said, I don't have experience installing an EVGA hybrid kit myself and I'm afraid to damage the card/shroud upon removal. Initially, I figured I could just look at the hybrid kit installation PDF guide and use that in reverse order to remove the shroud. But EVGA's guide really doesn't provide any detail on exactly how the shroud is clipped/mounted onto the card. The hybrid kit also appears to utilize a single screw right next to where the AIO lines come out of the card. But my 2080 Hybrid doesn't have a screw anywhere in that area, leading me to believe that the pre-configured hybrid cards have a slightly different mounting setup than the actual hybrid kits.

So I'm looking to the community to get some clarification on the best process to remove the shroud without causing any damage. It's my understanding that the 2080 and 2080ti hybrid kits are more or less identical so the shroud removal process for either card should work. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I appreciate any input.

Also, here's a picture of my GPU & push/pull setup in case anyone is curious:

All the Outside Screws need to be removed, one has a Nut on it next to the Back I/O and all the Screws on the Back I/O need to be removed.

I looked at those guides but they don't help. The section of installing the shroud is vague:

"Install the #1 shroud onto the card, making sure the shroud is beneath the edge of the bracket, and fits into the grooves on the insert. It is important that the radiator fan cable is centered between the tubes. You may connect the pump cable to the radiator fan cable at this time. (b) Once seated, use one #8 screw to fasten the shroud to the insert."

The instructions also indicate that a screw needs to be used to secure the shroud right next to the radiator lines. But my pre-made hybrid card doesn't have that screw...

    Picture from instructions:

It would be nice to have a manual for the FTW3 Hybrid Kits But EVGA still has not Posted them.
EVGA's Website has fallen from a 10 to a 1 over the last few Years now and it seems they do not really care.
Other than the Manuals missing and broken links the Product Pages have miss information and missing specifications.
EVGA no longer pays attention to detail on their Website, it has moved over the to Look Pretty Look over the Make Functional Use.

Well that's unfortunate. I'll hold out in hopes someone has pulled the shroud off their FTW3 card and can provide some insight.

I'm waiting for JayzTwoCents or Gamers Nexus to do a tear down of a FTW3 Hybrid card. That should give the info we need, as well.

Regardless, thanks for your help bcavnaugh
