So, it is a stripped-down SKU with cheaper parts and less parts? And that is a "knock-out"? Huh. I thought a knock-out was supposed to be a good thing.

I saw the article and totally got too busy to bother posting it - I found it interesting that EVGA was dusting off their old name , "KO" It's been awhile since I can remember them using that branding....

I think it is supposed to be a knock-out relative to the price to performance ratio.

The KO is listed on NewEgg but not in stock so it suggests this card will be available in days or weeks pricing will be critical

Turns out that there is an unexpected reason why these cards are interesting. Apparently it was even a surprise to NVIDIA and EVGA. It has a cut-down RTX 2080 core with up to 47% performance gain in non-gaming applications.

I just ordered one, will see how well it folds and crunches BOINC. My first 20xx series card, had to start somewhere and if I can get 2070 2080 performance for 2060 price, why not.

post a GPU-Z screenshot when you get the card. Could be interesting as more cards enter the market over the next few months.

Here is the screen shot. So far so good, not a bad little card at all. In BOINC primegrid GFN tasks, it beats my 1080Ti and my Radeon VII, which also beats the 1080Ti on these tasks. Looking at my tasks vs other peoples 2070 and super it beets those, just under a 2080, although a couple tasks it did. I have no way of knowing their setup/settings and so on.

Lottery? All of the EVGA RTX 2060 KO video cards have the TU104 die. It's not a lottery.

All 2060 KO's are the TU104 GPU for the foreseeable future, that doesn't mean that there are any guarantee sometime in the future though that it may be different.

I like those odds. I would buy in if I didnt have a GTX1070 SC to hold me over until I need more power sometime within the next few years. Thank you for the clarification.
