Yes, the OSD shows up in odd places. Probably any window the GPU is called upon, can open an OSD in. You can set the software to make a toggle key so you can toggle it off.

When I try to install Precision X 16 from the downloaded installer, I receive the error message "Error 1316. The specified account already exists."  I would install Precision X from Steam, but I'm already running Precision X from Steam on another laptop, so as far as I know, my only option is to install from the download location.  Help?

Just installed X16 on a brand new Win10 Pro install and can't run it; just get a constant popup about missing d3dx11_43.dll, d3dx10_43.dll, d3dx9_43.dll.
It's supposed to be DX12, why is it looking for 11, 10, & 9?

Ummm... DX12 isn't even fully released, and it uses backward compatibility. There is only one game/benchmark that properly utilizes any DX12 right now. This version of PX is only compatible, which doesn't mean it runs DX12 on stuff that doesn't have DX12 support.

Where did you load the software from? Steam, or one of the mirrors?

Could you provide a Snip (snipping tool, use widows search if you can't find it) of the errors?

Do they happen when you install or when you try to boot Precision?

Also, you said a fresh install of windows. What games have you loaded and played so far? Did you try them before installing precision or after?

Ok, uninstall precision x and install a couple of games that you like. BF4 is a good start if you have it.

When you install games, they install direct X if they use it. If you never install it, it won't be on your system. If it can't it isnt insralled, it cant be detected, and may be causing the errors.

Benchmarks like Unigine Valley, Unigine Heaven, 3d Mark 11, Firestrike, cloud gate and others are also options to force direct x onto your pc.

You can't expect Precision to detect something that doesn't exist, so give this a shot and see if it works.

If it is a fresh install of windows, may I ask whY you started with loading precision without anything else on the pc? Just curious, as precision won't help with desktop applications. It will help with fames, benchmarks, work loads like video editing, folding, crunching and so on, but by itself, it won't be of much use.

Dxdiag is showing what Direct X version your card is compatible to.. not what it is running.. ashes of singularity is the only thing that utilizes DX12 right now. It's a moot point until games actually use it. Again, as I stated before, precision x is Compatible with direct x 12. That doesn't mean it is using it. Direct x is also backward compatible, or every game that came out before ashes of singularity wouldn't work at all.. pretty much a waste if it doesnt support older generations, don't you think?

Note: Full support For direct x 12. It has to support generations before dx12.. lIke 11, 10, and 9.

SOLVED: Black Ops III crashes to black screen after launch. I fell back to the 362.00 Nvidia drivers, still crashed on BOIII start-up. The EVGA Precision X16 GPU monitoring software is crashing my game on start-up since the new VC drivers were installed. I close the EVGA software and the game loads / plays. It only crashed BOIII and works fine on other NON-Steam game; (Star Wars Battlefront 2015)

I recently built 2 new rigs and finding the "Start Up On Windows" works fine on one, but not on the other. Different motherboards, cpu, memory in them, but the same EVGA 980 Ti Classified in both along with the exact same Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit software running. I saw that 5.3.10 actually said it had fixes in it for this exact problem with other systems. Wondering if EVGA would be willing to look at what the issue is with mine.

Every time I update Precision X, I have to reset all of my settings. Also, Precision X launches at start up but my fan profiles aren't honored until I open X and click on each GPU. I'm wondering if X is somehow interfering with/being interfered with Corsair Link. I usually can't tell that it's a problem until my GPUs heat up and I realize they're using the default fan profile.
 
Any ideas on this?

is it possible to add the cpu usage in the OSD (also in DX12)?
I found only the cpu temp in the monitoring settings of PrecisionX and I want both parameters in the OSD.
 
Have anyone an idea or is it not possible in the moment?
And if its not possible yet, can the EVGA Precision Team add this feature in a next update?
This would be very nice.

I'm having an issue with Precision X. I started playing fallout 4 with the OSD and for some reason it's showing my GPU not going above 595mhz. I'm using an evga titan x sc with the hybrid cooler. Power limit is set to 110% with a core clock of +75mhz. No OC on the memory and fan speed is at 48%. Is this just a bug or is the card throttling?

I had the same problem, my card was stuck around that frequency despite not doing any overclocking whatsoever. Deleting and remaking the Precision profile fixed it for me. Not sure if updating the GPU driver causes it or what but I've had similar issues with saved Precision profiles in the past. It can also happen if the card is unstable and crashing from an OC.
