EVGA Power Boost 100-MB-PB01-BR
Old Yes but New for Older Motherboards and Newer Dual 8-Pin PCIe Power Connectors that are Required on your new GTX 1080 Ti Graphics Card.
Or any Graphics Card that Requires 2 8-Pin PCIe Power Connector on the Graphics Card
Even for the ones that have One 8-Pin and one 6-Pin and you have two or more cards installed or for the even Older motherboards with One Card.
Not saying you have to use one for your Older Motherboards but it may be just the nudge that Old Timer Needs to get you going.

For users that have older Motherboards that do not have a Supplemental PCIe Power Connector on their Motherboard.

Remove All Power and Discount All Power Cords Before you start your install
and wait for all the LEDs on your Motherboard to Turn Off.

Note: This is not a replacement for the Two Required 8-Pin PCIe Power Connectors needed for your Card(s)
It is an addition to your computer.

I had asked about getting this a year or so ago and was warned that many people who have bought and tried this resulted in "Magic Smoke" appearing from their mother board. I trusted this forums advice and decided not to use this and I may have saved my motherboard. I wont ever know for sure though, but I'd rather play it safe when it comes to my system. Just my 2 cents.

As in all things -- Do your Homework -- used in a way not intended you'll be asking --> Whats that smell ?

Any MB with aux PCIe power built-in should Not need this device

Using this to pull power From the PCIe to power a GPU ---> your Braver than Me --> If you let the magic smoke out they stop working.

These days you don't need that overpriced "power boost". If it was $5.99 i would still recommend saving your money. EVGA came out with that power boost back during X58 days.  Also didn't Nvidia restrict how much power cards can pull these days, compared to GTX580 days.

Thank for your great input as always.
