I would guess that hot air recycling between your KPE and the bottom of the case. I would go vertical and get some fans pushing air up into the case followed by push/pull air out the top #chimney.

Going vert on the KPE may help the pump. You could 180 the KPE CLC rad and configure push/pull intake on the front. I currently have the RTX 2080 TI KPE in push/pull intake - Front of DB900V2 which is notorious for bad temps and yet the KPE stays as cool as I would expect GPU >~47c vram >~56c under bench loads... Ambient 22c

I don’t understand how you don’t have choked airflow with the vertical mount being close to the case edge.

I have an Evolv X and the side glass would probably impede airflow just as much.

Push pull on intake radiators chokes airflow in and of itself too. At least it does on my case and I’m sure it does on others even.

I’ve already a bunch of tinkering with this setup and the last thing I wanna do is do a case swap.

The KPE is about 2 mm from the top of that ram. IE Very close to the MB. Horizontal airflow impedes when GPU is Vertical only if the VGA adapter is too close to glass. Literally 4 inches from that tempered glass. The CoolerMaster Vertical PCIE kit is engineered to keep the VGA adapter as far from the glass as possible. For that reason I use it in most of my builds...

Edited to add another example of how close the vert bracket sits the VGA adapter...
Please excuse the excessive soft tubing in the 2nd img - am testing different loop order perf for a content creation piece...

You can set what you want to display using PX1
Testing the Pump = 0 ATM https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2945756
Yep! The Pump RPM is really the Fan RPM on the Radiator
And yes you can adjust the Fan Speed in PX1.
Fan 1 is the Blower Fan on the Card
Fan 2 is for the Fan on the Radiator
Fan 3 is for the Fan Header on the Card

So I ordered a CableMod vertical mounting kit just in case I need to go vertical. I can use it later if I don’t end up using it now. I’m going to try swapping the radiator order around to the KPE as exhaust out the top. CPU cooler rad will go up front and I’m going to add an additional 140 mm fan up front for some airflow. If that improves things I’ll just stick with it for awhile. Temperatures aren’t affecting my clocks that much so I’ll just deal with a slightly hot card if I have to.

Doing this should make enough of a difference I would think. The Evolv X interior just tends to get really toasty without some passive airflow.

@zeddville I'm not overly concerned but I will admit the last 2 days I've been kinda nervous why my temp seemed to be about 10C higher than what most other people are reporting (my card is mounted in an open air bench). Switched some OLED display settings around and it shows 30c idle now. Inline with what others are reporting for idle.

Similar here. Everything is going to be hotter with sustained gaming. 3dmark doesn’t place enough sustained load on the card to get an accurate picture of how hot things are gonna get. My Kingpin barely cracks 50 C in TimeSpy but will hit 55 C and a bit beyond in games in the same case environment. I have a passive airflow issue that I’m going to try and fix so my temps are inherently hotter but the point still stands. Still, I only lose about 30 MHz off the top end even with those temperatures. Which is impressive.

Benchmarks are not a very good indicator of sustained thermal performance. Games will show variability in temperatures depending on what you’re playing, too. Some games just hit the GPU harder for whatever reason.

Hawk are you the one using the same case as I am (evolve X)? What passive airflow issues you having? I'm using Ml120s top mount...top cover off temps are nice range.....push and pull is even better but only works with top off and i no other space in case because cpu is cooled with 360. I have vertical gpu mount but havent tried that ...as I am spending wa y too much time trying to overclock my KPE to a stable setting that Im comfortable with

Yep that’s me lol.

I am having issues with stale airflow (I presume anyway) at the bottom of my case. My KPE rad is front mounted without any additional fans. The Evolv X is a damn oven without any passive airflow through the bottom of the case and I had similar issues when I first got my Strix 2080ti. Had to swap my CPU rad position and add intake fans to get things away from being so toasty.

The plan now is to swap my radiators so the KPE has the top position. No push pull possible with this case but it shouldn’t matter that much with the Noctua NF-A12s that I have on the radiator. I’m also going to add a 140 case fan below my CPU and hook it up to the fan header on my Kingpin to get some passive airflow out the back of the case below the card.

I really don’t want to do a vertical mount but I ordered a kit from CableMod just in case I have to resort to that.

Swapping all my fans around yet again is going to be tedious but it is what it is I guess. At least the Evolv X has a nice removable top radiator bracket to make things way easier.

Dunno if you've encountered it or not but with the evolve x top on it does trap a good amount of heat. I think I'm gonna have the top modded for better ventilation. I'm trying to picture a 140 under the gpu, and will that fit ?

When they first went on sale you could also use anyone's associate code to buy one.  They're littered all over the forums and in a lot of post signatures (like mine below).  Should be able to use any of those to get one next time they go on sale (likely toward the end of April per Jacob).

The 140 is going to be mounted to the front fan/rad mounting area, below the radiator. It’ll at least get some fresh air into the case.

I hadn’t considered the top of the case but that’s a good point.

Sorry for the bad explanation lol.
