They've been delayed into 2021. We are hoping for that they become available in January (for the queues), but no official word yet from EVGA. Happy holidays!

This brings up a question for the holidays: The store webpage says any orders placed after today at 2pm will not ship until Jan 5th for obvious reasons. Is the current queue system automated enough that email purchase notifications will still be sent out between now and then for people to place their orders or is all queue activity on pause until Jan 5th? In either case, I'll still keep checking my email just in case...

I'm ok with the wait since I'm still waiting on other things to ship. ETA on the CPU is Jan 7th, assuming the order isn't cancelled out of the blue. GPU and CPU could actually arrive on the same day if the order email comes on Jan 5th. Thanks for the notice! I'll take any news I can get, especially when it means I don't have to keep checking my email and spam folder. Well, maybe just once or twice a day...

I installed the hybrid kit on my 3080 FTW3 yesterday, but every time I try to install the BIOS firmware, it says "no display adapters found" or something to that affect. How do I get the right BIOS installed so it doesn't recognize it as the air cooled version anymore??

Only install the BIOS if you want your fans running on high all the time and no ability to control the fans. The HYBRID bios are defective.
you have to match the BIOS to your specific part number.

How did you apply the kryonaut to the die? Pea size drop, line pattern, X pattern, etc I ask because GPU dies have different requirements than CPU chips for thermal paste application being that GPU dies need full coverage and if you did pea size drop or similar minimal pattern applications, it won't be enough. If the fans and pump are working correctly, the thermal paste application method could be the problem.

I found the problem and it was that the pump wasn’t making good contact with the chip. In the instructions, they say to use some spring screws on the backplate to pull the cooler onto the GPU, but they say to “leave them loose at first”. They never tell you why or to go back and tighten them. I forgot they were loose. So oversight on my part and bad instructions are the culprit. Tightened them down and temps dropped 20-30 degrees under load.
I covered every inch of the gpu in kryonaut so I knew that wasn’t the issue!

I am also interested in purchasing an EVGA HC for 3080 XC3 when available. I like the aesthetics of EVGA HC more than the EK water block for EVGA. I also want the I/O single slot bracket, which is not provided by EK.

You must flash the "converter" bios first, its a special bios Jacob posted that converts your card from FTW Ultra air to Hybrid (otherwise, it will not recognize it), then if you want to have the higher 450w bios, then you flash the XOC hybrid bios last (run then as administrator and reboot after each bios update). He posted the "converter" bioses here: https://forums.evga.com/3...3000-rpm-m3176833.aspx After your done, remember to run the latest version of Precision X just in case, so if your MC controller firmware (this is different from bios) is out of date, it will update it too...

EVGA was closed between December 23 and today. Drops across the 30 series family should restart tomorrow. The 3080 XC3 Hybrid queue for North America remains at 9:08:56 am on December 10. Best of luck!
