Guessing you didn't read through this entire forum. Just talking out loud. Some others have received the. Notification from evga to purchase thier FTW3 and they passed in order to buy the KPE when available. I'm nearing the same point, as my notification was for 10/14 and if you follow the notification thread it's getting close to that DTG. Knowing KPE will likely be reserved at intiial launch for elite members, etc. Decisions.

Likely, I'm not the only one in this boat.


Back to the point at hand (as I am sure you care about), when when when when....lol

Yeah you got a valid point, I just stumbled over alot of rumors hinting an 3080ti answer to AMDs upcoming GPUs

The way for nvidia to beat AMD this year would be getting stock, not releasing another GPU few can buy. AMD will also have the same issue of not being able to meet demand. So, whichever company can turn out more cards will take the larger market share. Don't buy into rumours, especially when they don't make sense... like the claim that a 3090 Ti was coming out, when in fact the silicon was known to be for servers only.

Nvidia needs to get their sh... their act together. They've been all over the place since AMD first leaked stuff about the 6800XT and now Nvidia just looks panicked and disorganized.
 
The latest rumors have that Nvidia is now bringing out a 3080 Ti (which was previously rumored, then canceled, and now back on). The only problem is, it has the same number of CUDA cores as the 3090, but will only sport 20GB of memory. Presumably, this card would be more price-competitive with the 6900XT, but then that leaves the 3090 in a really bad spot if that's indeed true.
 
Honestly, I don't know what to think of Nvidia right now. I still want a 3090 Kingpin, but now it's seeming like Nvidia might be releasing a 3080 Ti that will make a fool of anyone who buys the 3090.

KingPing is still attractive with that potential 10% improvements even just on game. I spend 250 more on getting a Ultra water cooled, so why not spend another few hundred to get a better one? Thats my line of thought

Mine as well. Plus it has unlimited potential. Would be a fun card to play with.

EVGA just announced an Overclocking invitational in 13 days utilizing 3090 KPE cards. While I know this is just speculation, might that suggest a possible date for release or an announcement of dates/pricing/availability?

Damn, thats cool. Nice way to showcase the KP card. I'm having tons of fun with oc on my 3090 Ultra and I'm very impressed with it's performance. Really looking forward to getting a KP card and taking it subzero.

That is exactly my concern. As I've been contemplating the almost 2k it would take to get an FTW3 Ultra 3090, I just don't feel like I want to spend that much on a GPU, especially since it will be surpassed in games relatively soon (for workloads it may be worth the price for some time yet, depending on situation). I am leaning more and more towards sending the 3090 back into the queue when it comes up, unless they drop the price some before then. Early on I toyed with the idea of signing up for the Kingpin at release, but now...?

Man, NVIDIA is just not making any fans this year! But I am still aiming for the KPE, if I can get my mitts on one of course! OC is my gameplan for the rest of 2020!
