NICROD Is anyone here actually planning on using LN2 on their KP cards?
I’m planning on using mine for hardcore multi monitor flight simming for real world flight training and proficiency and gaming, so no LN2 planned here.
I would be more than happy to have a glorified FTW3, so if anyone who is severely disappointed in the KPE bench performance wants to remove their notifies and let the rest of us have a shot at them sooner, that would be much appreciated!
Thats sounds reasonable to me. I'm confused at the comments that I see about the performance #'s, we all saw what is was before the emails were sent out to purchase. I've also been telling folks here since the start of these treads that your not going to see the full potential of these unless they are cooled with sub0 temps. Somehow there is a false expectation that under ambient conditions is going to have some miraculous performance gains.
When Vince is getting 15.5k scores on his KP versus my 14.8k at a lower ambient temperature, it feels like I'm being jerked around. That is why I asked if he was using the unlocked bios with no voltage limit. My card does not hit his numbers and even when I can get it close to the numbers he dialed in, my scores are still significantly lower.

+1!
I wholeheartedly agree with all of that. Plus in my case, I’ve already given the FTW3 Ultra a shot and, as everyone knows, I ended up with the Red Light of Death. So unless I want to keep trying my luck at getting a FTW3 that will last more than two days, KPE is my last and best option in the EVGA world.
Oh, sorry to hear about your FTW3 problems. I't sounds like your expectations are in the right place, so I'm sure you'll be happy with your new card.

Vince doesn't even do any of the stupid tricks we all do to get a few extra bumps in performance (as per the twitch feed OC event). So what looks like a 700 point difference in scores is likely a 1000+ difference.

Sucks to see youre unhappy with your card, maybe you can just sell it. I'm sure there are tons of people out there that would like to have it. Then you wont be bothered by it any longer.

Thanks! No worries. EVGA support couldn’t have been more awesome and I’m still an EVGA fanboy for life. Yeah I’m looking forward to the KP even if just for the higher binned core clock, better components and more robust water cooling. Hope you enjoy your card when it arrives!

The auto-notify button should go live again once EVGA satisfies the existing queue. Apparently, there will be an announcement (not through what channel, tweet, etc.) before it goes live. The current queue (that we are aware of) can be found in this thread (or in my signature block below). Good luck!

Thanks, I should get my card on Monday and hopefully I have enough time to see where the baseline is at so I can post it. The more data we can get owners to post here the better idea we can get as to what the situation is.

... Do you understand that more voltage exponentially pulls more current, AKA exponentially increases the wattage requirement? Of course with 1.45V+ memory and 1.2V+ core you are going to need more than a puny 520W on this card. Just the GA-102 chip draws over 600W itself in timespy extreme at 1.1V for crying out loud. The big question is going to be how hard it is going to be to get the XOC bios. Will we all have to individually bug Vince and get signed copies or will they make it public.

That is a good question especially considering the 3 year warranty. The 2080 KP had a one year warranty if I remember correctly. It was head and shoulders better than the other brand 2080's. There were a few FTW3's that really shinned, also.

That's what I'm wondering too. Feels like the cards aren't really being binned or are being binned in the same way the FTW3 ones are.

The cards they used that day were certainly 'binned' in the sense that when JayZ and Steve were having problems hitting 17k, Vince said that he had clocked both those specific cards to over 17k himself, so they were definitely preselected for that oc competition, if you want to think of that as binning. I don't know if all KP cards are binned though - I would have thought they would be, but I could be wrong.

I have to wonder why there is no option to purchase a certified high binned 3090 Kingpin like was available in some past Kingpin card releases. I'm sure those interested would accept a slight increase in costs if this was possible.

Some of us already paid $2250 with tax and shipping with that expectation.

Maybe they will release a classified at some point? Vince did say that maybe they will bring it back in the future . I just don't see how they would have had a large enough sample of 3090 dies to get higher bins. They have the highest guaranteed boost clocks at 1920MHZ. Where as the FTW3 Ultra is 1800MHZ and the Strix is 1890MHZ. Maybe their needs to be a third party seller like https://siliconlottery.com/ lol. New business idea??

And that is what they use to say your card is fine lol. I meant to ask you, have you tried seeing what kind of max frequency you can get under half load? I could be wrong, but I thought that was a good way to determine your silicon quality.

That new DX Raytracing feature test of 3DMarks seems to be a good one to find top clocks under a lighter load.

QueueCumber As for LN2. Why would I bother with this card unless I can get the OCs on air they were getting at the event. I'd be wasting my time and potentially money for results this card cannot ever achieve...
No offense intended but your expectations are extremely unrealistic ... LN2 numbers on air ... do yourself a favor and sell the card now.
You are misunderstanding what he means. He wants to at least get what they were getting on AIR at the event, not LN2. He's saying it is a waste of time to LN2 the card if it can't even get the same clocks that the others were getting with Air Cooling. Too quick to jump down his throat for providing a reasonable assessment of the card. I completely agree with QueueCumber and don't understand all the fanboying in this thread. With all that is going on with the FTW you would think people would be less "blindly" trusting of EVGA. Based on this thread and the other KP thread, it really sounds like these GPU chips are not binned at all, or like someone else mentioned, "binned" like the FTW ones are. (Read: not at all) The FTW chips are all over the place, but the FTW PCB is just not working out. If it performs poorly, I agree with QC's assessment.

What’s the max voltages you can safely run through the KP card 24/7 (NVVDD, MSVDD) on air (Water)?

My bad , I misread what he was saying so my apologies Mr QueueCumber . I won't bother to argue the point that there are too many variables to compare what one sees in a video from a studio at evga , asus or anywhere else to what one can reproduce at home. Best of Luck

My card at stock temps will hit 2235 without touching voltage. It then clocks down to about 2190. I've been extremely happy. If I can get a waterblock I should be able to keep it from losing about 30 MHz. 2220 MHz gaming clock? Yes please!!
