Received my 3090 FTW Ultra yesterday and I'm pulling 465w on the XOC OC Bios in Time Spy. With the original, I was pulling 450w. I'm able to set +195 core clock with a 2100 Mhz Max in GPU-Z. Time Spy reports 2000 MHZ average up to 2,085 MHZ max. However, best I can do with memory is +250. This gives me 19267 overall and 20872 GPU Score in Time Spy. Best I can do in PR is 13,935 with +195 core and +250 memory. Power slider is 117% and voltage is 50%. Max temp is 76C with 70C average. I am not getting any PerfCap warnings. https://www.3dmark.com/spy/16074933https://www.3dmark.com/pr/61350 I think I'm temperature limited at this point and it's an average chip. Thoughts and/or suggestions? Gear: Asus Strix x570-e, amd 5900X, and Seasonic 850W FX

N00b question here. To flash XOC Normal, I need to have the switch on Normal, then turn off the PC...move the switch to OC and then flash XOC OC? or I can flash both, no matter where the switch is? Thank you guys and sorry, for this very basic question, but it's not included on the instructions.

You would do the switches, only 1 bios is active at a time.

So I was able to snag a 3090 strix from today’s drops. I want to stay with evga but unless I hear something about this issue by then I’ll compare the strix to my ftw3 and if it wins out unfortunately I’m going to have to jump ship. Very sad bc I am an evga fanboy for sure

Actually i have a score of 14 257 in port royal, i belive once i will put my card on water i will score higher and at least i will score 14 600 maybe more. So after checking this i made conclusion and not doing any shunt mod for now. I think if you want try do a best score to be on hall of fame then ok but for running 24/7, i belive its better to keep it original to avoid any sort of problem on the long term. Not just from the card itself but also from the motherboard. Running this shunt mod 24/7 for daily use its seam not really necessary to me. And nobody know what this can do in long term use coz those card are new. And just a few people have done this and. I really dont want something goes bad at my 1000$ mobo and 2800$ card. Will see later with long term backup news and revelation. This is what i think and i will put my waterblock and see how it perform and if my card will keep boosting at 2100mhz to 2150mhz all time without dropping when i game.

And more ; We already saw what this chip can do and what it need to achieve it then unless you go subzero and pump up the voltage , no way you will do miracle. And i found it really good and fine like this. I just check in youtube of trx-3090 port royal benchmark and many do a score of 12 750 only and some more good score 13 500. Then with my score of 14 257 , i see its already verry good and not yet on water. Some here are desapoint with a score of 13 900 in that benchmark but maybe you didnt know THATS A GOOD SCORE, and the ftw3 performing verry well, no doubt on this. See youself on youtube with port royal bench with other brand.

I'll try it later tonight or tomorrow. I was able to aquire a stock OC 3090 FTW3 Hybrid VBIOS that didn't change anything as far as being power limited (2014 Taiwan card, 460W max on 500 or 520W VBIOS), so I've got precisely ZERO hope that the hybrid XOC VBIOS will change that.

Its interesting to me that a few found changes based on VRM cooling or paste application. That may warrant a closer look of people are having trouble breaking 440.

Is there a way to extract the BIOS from the Update.exe or should I just wait for a real 3988 owner to put it up via GPU-Z?

Yes you can. You need a hex editor, like HxD. Start at byte offset 79A5E0, and select the following 999,424 bytes. Save that selection to a separate file. That is the BIOS file. -Jeff

I only bench PR, but broke 14,000 with +135 and +200 and the default OC BIOS. Your card's throttling. I can't say my card is particularly good either as it crashes if I go above +150 clock. I get better performance with voltage set to 0%, I think anything higher would likely need water. Have you tried leaving the voltage low/undervolting?

Which upgrade.exe did you use? Maybe it's a different offset. I tested two different ones and they both had the same offset, and they were both valid. I checked them with nvflash64. Also, make sure when you select the 999,224 byes, that the amount is in Decimal and not Hex. The offset is hexadecimal, the length is decimal. If you can't get it working, it's probably best you wait.

Not much luck with voltage at 0 and fans on 100%. Pretty much the same results with no PerfCap. Also, all my backgrounds apps are closed and Nvidia 3D settings are Power Management: Prefer Max Power, Texture filtering - Quality: High Performance, and vertical sync: off. https://www.3dmark.com/pr/616458https://www.3dmark.com/spy/16095424 When is the hybrid kit back up for notify ;-)

I was able to achieve 14,500 on Port Royal with a stock day one Taiwan red lip card on the XOC 500W bios with overclocks of +140 Core and +1100 Mem. Power consumption peaked at 506W and averaged around 501W throughout the run. I also experienced no load balancing issues at all, the Pcie slot only drew around 75W and all three Pcie power connectors drew around 145W.

Quick question for the group here, when trying to find the optimal overclock settings I'm using Precision X1 "VF Curve Tuner", and I simply cannot get the program to finish before my computer automatically reboots (crashes). I have an RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra and have tried both the original bioses and OC bioses (4 in total), but it simply does not work. Are others having the same problem? Have to be honest this is incredibly frustrating. My power supply is an AXi1600 Watt by Corsair (overkill I know).

I got one of the first ftw ultras in my area. Ive spent tons of time on this and never see more than 420-440w MAX regardless of bios or px1 version. No matter settings are applied im getting 13700max in port royal. Card cant maintain a decent clock at all no matter the core or memory. Also my computer is starting to restart when im gaming for 8~hours now. Mobo is telling me vga errors and other random codes. Weird stuff is happening lately. Hoping there can be a fix that doesn't require me to modify my card for correct performance. I didnt spend 2700$ for a card to set and forget.

I used the Update.exe in the front page for the FTW3 Hybrid OC. You earlier said it was 999,424 bytes. Now you are saying 999,224 bytes, which is it? Are you sure the offset is 79A5E0 (7972320) bytes?

Ya I noticed this card was difficult to seat. I must have messed with it for over 2 hours. Took off the nvme cover below it, mobo armor and the mounting plate to make sure I wasnt binding on something. I have a few powersupplys. Even tried a brand new corsair hx1200. Have msi godlike, tried 3800x and 3900x and few sets of ram. Forgot to mention my pcie slot reaches 80-84w max every time I use my pc.

Just flashed my FTW3 Hybrid with the new Uber XOC bios. Maxed out PL. Put it on Port Royal loop. After 15 minutes, I have a Max spike of 445.6W. Average of just 426.1W. Big solid green "power limit" perfcap reason the whole time. XC3 bios is still better. It's a little upsetting that there's been no communication from EVGA regarding why it's not working, what they're doing to fix it, and whether it even can be fixed. Edit: Checked PCIe slot power usage on the XOC bios which is limited to about 430W~ power limit on my card and many others, and it uses 75W. On the XC3 bios which gives I think somewhere between 480W-520W power limit, it only pulls 65W from the PCIe slot. Haven't been able to approximate the power draw because one pin is pulling 150-165W, one is *reporting* up to 75W but could actually be pulling double that. Third pin is just not reporting anything but likely pulling same as the first connector at 150-165W.

You didnt talk about ur overclocking procedure, but i can tell you, like actually i oc my ftw3 ultra at +115 and + 800 and if i apply +30 gpu core voltage, many games will run fine but others will crash sometimes for sure and if i apply +60 most of my game will run fine but 2 or 3 game will still crash after 10 or 30 minye, even hours after i start play and if i apply full +100 i have no crash with alllll games. If you oc ur cpu ram it can be the issue, even it pass stupid stability test, if your cpu cash is oc this can be also an issue. Try disable oc on cpu and memory if you still have this issue. Sometime it can be a bad cable, pci cable, power cpu cable and is your psu is plug direct in the wall socket or if you plug it on cheap power bar and while your pc running you touch the psu plug and it feel hot. So many thing can happen, sometime its weird and really hard to catch a problem. Did you try gaming hours on another card and all is fine ? Is this problem begun with ur new graphik card ?
