Do any of the Taiwanese cards go over 450w or is it pointless to even try out the BIOS?

I believe some do, can't hurt to give it a shot you shouldn't lose any performance.

With Taiwan card I got 512W(Stock) Max in Furmark, but that's only Furmark(472W in Port Royal, 13 452 score). If I "xoc" I did see a 520W-530W spike in Furmark, but my PC shutdown afterwards not sure if it's my PSU or what... I have a 1000W PSU. So I'm not exactly sure whats going on there. Furmark is just a stress test though I only care about performance in games and trying to compare it with everyone but it seems we're in a constant goose chase in this thread. Hope that helps you in some way.

EVGA_JacobF We have a new BETA BIOS that increases the maximum Power Target. This BIOS is only intended for the extreme overclocking user and does not have any other changes. Please note the following:
- This update will increase the power consumption while overclocking, and is recommended you have adequate cooling and power (850w+ Gold minimum) when using this.
- EVGA does not guarantee any performance increase or overclock while using this BIOS update.
Any other questions or concerns will be answered in this forum thread only. Please post below your results and feedback! BIOS Instructions (Windows Installation):
- Download the correct .zip file below for your graphics card below.
- Extract the files to a location on disk.
- Make sure no programs are running in the background, and double click Update.exe
- Press "Y" to begin the update.
- DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE UPDATE PROCESS!
- After update, restart PC.
EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 NOTE: There are 2 BIOS's, one is for the BIOS when switched to the normal stock position, the other if switched to the OC position If you wish to go back to the Default BIOS you can find them below: EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 ULTRA Default BIOS - BIOS 1 (Normal) | BIOS 2 (OC) EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 Default BIOS - BIOS 1 (Normal) | BIOS 2 (OC)
A useful thing here would be the bios revision/number listed after each link.

What software did you use to check the wattage? I tried HWmonitor64 but I don't think it's reading the wattage right as it shows under 400w but I am getting over 14k in port royal.

https://www.3dmark.com/pr/501948 FTW3 Ultra - was around +1000 +190, i feel as if it had more in it but was limited by the power 447w max. https://www.3dmark.com/pr/417544 Eagle OC - Cant remember exactly what i did with this run maybe +40 or 50 to the clock but it's power was limited to by the stock bios at 384w. It seemed Jay2cents had the same issue with his card before he put his "special" bios on. I would be happy to wave my warranty ( seems pretty useless thus far ) and try the ln2 bios from the kingpin and see if that helps but they won't even give us that...

When has a warranty been useless? I just had to use mine as my card died within a few hours of use. I'd say they are hardly useless lol.

Warranty is useless when they fail to accept that several batches of their top tier product are faulty.

Are you using the XC3 bios? +190 is unstable for me, shuts down my PC and I get way more than 447W, should I upgrade my PSU? I have no idea why it's just straight up shutting down. Usually I get video card crashes. I was able to get around 13900 after overclocking a little bit. I'm definitely thermal capped as I'm not averaging 50 degrees like you are.

Open case, real cold bedroom. Your average clock is something mine can't get near without crashing, you are hitting 500w i assume? 2,175mhz stable at 350w on Kombustor Pysx4 gpu hard. Don't see how this is a silicon issue.

Zgapzy I believe some do, can't hurt to give it a shot you shouldn't lose any performance.
The XOC bios won't run TS/PR at stock settings with 100% power limit without crashing on my card. I have to turn the fan to 100% and give it 10mv. Strangely, I can OC it with no changes to voltage quite a bit.

Finally, finally.. we have today an update on the 500 Watt BIOS issue from EVGA (Jacob himself), but why we had to wait over a month to hear something... I really don´t understand.. This is excerpt from Jacobs twitter: And we have to thank PersonSuit... PersonSuit (@Person_Suit) tweeted at 2:23 PM on Tue, Dec 01, 2020: @EVGA_JacobF Is EVGA even testing the 500w 3090 FTW3 bios anymore? Tons of posts in the EVGA forums saying they are having issues with it & that it’s not working on cards manufactured in Taiwan. Not a single response on this or update from EVGA in over a month. What’s going on? Jacob Freeman (@EVGA_JacobF) tweeted at 4:09 PM on Tue, Dec 01, 2020: Yes, we are still working on this. There are no changes on the difference location manufactured cards, the components are the same.

Well that's good news at least.

Great, we can all put away our pitchforks then, right? edit: (for now, at least)

They patiently waited with a response so that everyone who did not return his card immediately is now out of the return period... clever thing EVGA!

FTW3 is a medium quality card sold at a premium price. It's not a bad card by any means, but all of us have been taken for a ride this generation. The ppl who lined up for this card did so based on past reputation lets be real here. One day ampere will actually be available, and evga will lose on being overpriced + terrible word of mouth. And this will carry over into next generation, and Evga will pay dearly

mato76 Finally, finally.. we have today an update on the 500 Watt BIOS issue from EVGA (Jacob himself), but why we had to wait over a month to hear something... I really don´t understand.. This is excerpt from Jacobs twitter: And we have to thank PersonSuit...

Still sad that Jacob doesn't post this here at least they could make a BIOS like the XC3 that can maintain good clocks for daily use stable, I've been testing super heavy games at 3440x1440 Ultra Settings with RTX on Ultra like Metro Exodus not only many passes of the benchmarks but gaming for days and the XC3 BIOS is great for this, the XOC is better for benching, XC3 can't reach highest XOC Clocks but remember these will jump A LOT compared to the XC3. I also compared XC3 anb XOC BIOS, have all the screens to show ya I can post if if you want but this is no solution for anything. Cheers to All, Sergio!
