Didn’t see any made in on the box for my card. Ended up looking at the PCIE fingers. Front side said rev and the back side said the made in.

Taiwan for me. 449w max on XOC bios. Check back through this thread from day 1 onward if needing further evidence of mine showing worse performance than stock bios. I think we require more evidence of 'working China' boards to draw a consensus, but we're nearing enough from the 'not working Taiwan' column.

I have 2 confirmed with video proof China cards are working with 1 more on the way from EVGA, will see if its another China board. Here is a pic of the sticker and the location on the box. https://postimg.cc/LgZwK1FS

Screw it. I'm just flashing stock OC from the first page and just living with it. I'm not going to break any OC records anyway. Literarily spent more time reading this thread than enjoying the pc. If some updated bios comes out ill try a flash, until then time to do some sim racing. Which is why I git the card in the first place. Lol

Yah Notchy your results are certainly convincing, I’m just saying it’d also be nice to have some of the other folks who chimed in on the previous 100 pages saying theirs were working to provide where their cards were manufactured as well

Taiwan here. Infrequent short black screens, unable to replicate though, just random. BIOS wasn't hitting 500W on XOC. No black screens today but I had CoD crash at the end of a Zombie round with some error that looked to be a problem with the game not the card.

I initiated an RMA, if other cards are easily doing this 500 w BIOS, as notchy can verify, then I consider something to be defective with my card. Didn’t spend that kind of money to have an inferior product than someone who bought the same item (I’m talking build quality, not silicon lottery).

China boards seem to take this 500W bios perfectly fine.

Rep tried to tell me that cards are made in Taiwan sent to China and packaged in USA... I’m like ok well it says made in Taiwan in my box and made in China on another, I described the issue. He wasn’t able to tell me much else, but I just told him how I see it: large percentage of cards can perform at a certain spec large number can’t, that’s not fair to the consumer, outside of silicon lottery/memory oc there should be zero performance differences on the same sku, I consider my unit defective. They are currently processing the RMA, it’ll be Tuesday/Wednesday before I can ship it maybe they’ll get their hands on it and see what’s really good with the problems everyone has, I’m 2014 Taiwan rev .1 as well

I guess the followup question would be what's the difference between the Chinese and Taiwanese cards? Are the China cards using better capacitors somewhere? If the components are the same then this is either some sort of placebo affect or possibly silicon lottery coming into play.

Yea me and notchy with a few others isolated all the variables and that’s the only difference Taiwan vs. China we need more China boards for confirmation but it certainly looks to be the key.

Im thinking the silicon Lottery has little effect on the difference of 420 watt avg to 500 watt avg. If they do have 2 factories making cards a simple change of caps or shunts COULD be the issues from the Taiwanese cards.

Correct, and if EVGA is paying attention on here, they’ll have a sample of a defective Taiwanese board next week when I ship mine back them for RMA edit: clarity

Is there any way to check production date? That might be worth tracking too if the Chinese or Taiwanese cards are being produced at different time frames.

Hahahaha I wonder if they switched fully to a Chinese factory moving forward? My card came in 2 weeks ago and my friends card was directly from EVGA yesterday with a 1 day shipping. I will see with the 3rd card coming in if its from china (lets hope!!)

That’s not the approach: if those cards do what they are supposed to, and ours do not...they have working cards and ours are defective. Fact.

Well how many times can I realistically make the case with evga that my card is defective? I doubt they'll do an RMA with me over and over and over. Already did it once

Serial numbers should be sequential - likely two sets, one 2014 for Taiwan and one 2012 for Chinese make. Maybe registering the board for a secondhand warranty will the reveal manufacture date.
