Well I just received my "new" 3090 , its not new in retail packaging and it has the older bios on its label of 94:02:26:48:15 , I won't be able to install it until this weekend but this one better have the power issue fixed! It does however have the 4 poscaps and 2 smaller set of caps in the middle at the back. i'll check what revision the voltage regulator is this weekend. Also on the pcb it has rev 0.1 dont wanna get mad until ive tested it but this isnt looking good people. This is a "special" RMA for the load balancing issues! RED LIPS too, ****.

I would not even bother swapping it out. I'd just reach out to evga by phone, explain and hopefully be able to send it back and wait for a proper replacement. If it has red lips I doubt it's the revised PCB.

My 24G-P5- 3988-KR (serial begins with 2114) RMA showed up yesterday. Was not a brand new unit; actually was shocked how piss-poor it was packaged. It was in a box, and the card saw loosely in a layer and a half of bubble-wrap! Looked like it was wrapped by a 5th grader, not kidding you. It also didn't have either of the guards on the connections.. wth. :( It doesn't say where it's made - just says "packed in U.S.A." There's also a QC/OK sticker in the corner (above the LED EVGA logo, upper right) Installed BIOS: 94.02.42.00.43 (upgraded to 94.02.42.C0.11 on boot of Precision) REV 0.1 Still getting 80watts at PCIE on stock BIOS. Wrote an email to the oc3090 program, and will see what they say.

Same havent installed mine yet but I am pretty pissed they are just sending us old cards. Whats the point in the "Special RMA program" if they are just gonna send us the same bloody cards shady as FOOK

This is the hybrid model correct? If so, as far as I'm aware they have not added these to the special rma. So being that it is a standard RMA I'm not surprised you got a refurb with the power balancing issue.

Well it looks like OLD card acording to BIOS reference https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/226310/evga-rtx3090-24576-201008-1 (unles they replaced VRM controler, also probably SN starting with 20) Yesterday some user claimed that EVGA would not dare and here we go... :-/ As for my approval still not approved...

Yes, it is. And, I wouldn't be so confident about that, as their own RMA agent told me to write the program if: "When you get the replacement, I recommend to run DDDU/Display Driver uninstaller. If you notice a voltage or TDP limit issue, please contact 3090oc@evga.com. They may be able to troubleshoot or offer a resolution. Please have screenshots available pointing out where the TDP or voltage issues are." I'll admit I haven't read every page, but I have been lead to believe there is hope..

I wonder how this is possible... users reported that their OC cards were fixed and 67W max on PCIE... not garbage like this :-/

Well hopefully you get it sorted out. I'm still holding out until Jacob states that the hybrids have been added to the special rma. The only issue I have with my card is the power balancing and doing a standard RMA doesn't seem to address that issue.

cbaty Thanks! I don't understand why the type of cooler would matter... ?
It matters because they have to have the revised PCB with that cooler available. I've been following this thread for a while and it has never been stated that the hybrid had been added to the special rma. It will eventually be added as Jacob stated that the program would expand to include all FTW3 models (Hybrid, HC). I've asked Jacob a few times when it is expected for them to add the hybrid to the special rma and have had no response.

I've been told by him that they are going to reach out to me and get it swapped out. This will be my 5th card lol.

I just got an automatic email from EVGA Europe confirming they shipped my 3090 special OC RMA today. Replacement board S/N start with 2112 so it should be fine...

When cards get refurbed they are given new serial numbers. So having a 21xx serial number does not mean you will get a new or revised card.

power balancing issues PCIE 80W+ rest is OK... even performance is OK but dont want to have it on my mobo and wait if all will be OK in long term.

Well I just got the step 1 email on another advanced RMA. (I didn't have to pay for this one this was through Jacob) gotta say though if this ends up not being a revised card I'm just gonna get a full refund and send the card back. What a cluster.... And now I've got the second step email

3090OC card should be revised cards not refurb with OLD PCB... that is main reason of that program in first place... at leat that is how I take it (I could be wrong on that)

Grrrrr..... I thought 2112/2114 were the new design (China/Taïwan manufactured) that fixed the power balancing finally....
