Not gonna lie this is another case of where I happily buy an EVGA product just to find the thing apparently being broken by design and the thread is full of RMA cases. I mean, seriously??? The PCI-E Power draw is either intentional, a broken reading or a major design flaw. How the hell can a reputable company release a triple 8 pin card that's overloading the PCI-E port, truly.

Onclepit What is that nonsense. Bought a FTW3 Ultra 3090 yesterday. Thought that rev for the pciedraw is long implemented, only to see spikes to 80 Watts on PCIe having it built in now...How can you still deliver faulty hardware with a clear conscience. That issue has been up since Oktober...It‘s plain infuriating and a huge letdown imo. not going to leave the card in if its likely to kill itself in a few weeks anyway.
For the US the hardware revision was announced 1 or two weeks ago, Europe started this week. It's totally up to you, if you want to keep the card like that🤷🏼♂️
Can you tell me how much you must wait for the new replacement card? I from eu and i dont know how many days i must wait for new card after i send my card to rma

PSA: do not open open precision x1 v 1.1.8 if you are on a FTW3 board (new PCB revision) that is mounted on a hybrid kit w/o hybrid bios (no such working bios update to get hybrid bios running exists right now). It will bork your shroud fan permanently. Forcing an RMA I’m serious don’t do it, wait for a hybrid bios before you run x1 v 1.18 and flashes an incorrect firmware that there’s no way to roll back and no way to load the hybrid bios and force it load a correct firmware. rBAR ain’t worth it. Wait for a hybrid bios to open that program. I just got this card 10 days ago it’s in an RMA over this.

Sorry, I can't tell you that for the special rma. For the normal RMA I did, it took 7 days from initial contact with the support to holding the replacement in my hand. Everything was handled well by evga Germany

„Special rma” you mean rma with problem xoc bios, yes?

I have the new PCB revision with hybrid kit installed and I just flashed the bios with x1 V 1.18 and everything is fine except the LED lighting and the pump runs at 100%. The flashed bios is 94.02.42.C0.02 and resizeable bar is enabled verify via GPU Z, System Information and X1 V 1.18.

I have a 3090 ftw3 ultra with an hybrid kit and a xc3 bios. Moreover fan controller by evga is broken (sometimes fans go to 100% with no reason) and I control fans with an external fan controller. From the performance side I can't complain: stable 2100mhz and 10500 on ram. Do you think there is a solution to: - have a working bar bios - fix fan speed Thank you

If you have a working hybrid bios for this card will you please post it to techpowerup through gpu-z and link so I can cut the crap with these installers and nvflash the rom on there.

What bios were you running when you updated firmware with PX1? I have several different files, including one I got today that is hybrid XOC 500w with rebar bios. no compatible display adapter found if I try to run it. I cannot update to a hybrid bios it seems, and upon utilizing the 500w bios that came pre-installed the x1 firmware update with 1.1.8 permanently disabled shroud fan control it’s always 0 rpm. I got the new bios on there with reBAR working but it literally killed my shroud fan dead.

Can you control your shroud fan? That’s the problem I’ve successfully flashed and seen all that, but it killed my shroud fan 0 rpms under any circumstance...and you can’t use it like that really except on desktop in lower power situations.

Not familiar with px1 but seems fans 1, 2 and 3 lows are 44, 40 and 0. All three go to 100%. Seem to take what ever speed I apply. I use msi ab myself. Will probably uninstall px1 now, just more comfortable with ab.

I just received one of the replacement cards in the program. Door to door was about 1 week, ground shipping. Very reasonable. Thanks to the EVGA team for a fast turnaround. The good: The card draws 500w+! PCIE slot power is way low now, 65-70w. Performance is better, I can hold 2090-2100. I did flash the HYBRID XOC bios on this card (Did not put the Re-BAR bios yet). With a modest overclock I was actually able to hit a higher score on Time spy (with the Hybrid XOC bios (hybrid cooler) than on the factory OC bios on air. The bad: The power balance issue is still there. It looks like my Power #3 connector is low, like others have reported. The other two pins are pulling 150w+, while this one is more like 100w. Time Spy: Stock score was 17960 ~ 420w NEW OC BIOS (Factory installed) was 18022 ~ 420w NEW OC BIOS (Factory installed) @ +100GPU +200MEM was 18560 ~475w+ (air cooled) XOC NORMAL HYBRID BIOS (from here) +145GPU +200 MEM was 19492 ~506w!!! (I do have the Hybrid kit installed here) Overall feedback: If you have a working card that can hit 420-450w, it might not be really worth the change just for performance if it is your only video card or if shipping is cost prohibitive. You will not be gaining too much more in clock speed, especially if you start hitting the thermal limits of the card. If you are worried about your PCIe slot (I would say 75-80w is an acceptable margin, 85+ RMA), then RMA away using the email address provided. That being said, I think if the card came like this from the factory, I don't think anyone would have noticed or complained of any issues. Note, I can get good performance with a LOWER power target. I do not have to run it at 119%. As I said before, you want less heat, so you want to run as little power as you can get away with without crashing.

Just flashed the Hybrid 500w bios that Kevinc313 posted up on the previous page. 3988 is for the hybrid. Bumped up clocks to 150mhz (boost hit 2115), mem was 200 and power 119. Still hit 505w, high Timespy score 19603. I'm sure I can get more, but the results aren't looking bad for once! https://www.3dmark.com/spy/19400458 Please be aware, I did NOT use x1 to flash. I simply ran the standalone executable for each step. If you have a broken card after hybrid... use your other bios that's still working with the original firmware. flip the bios switch while the computer is running to the broken bios, flash via nvflash with your original firmware file (should be ftw3 ultra) then try updating via PX1 after rebooting. Once you see everything is working again, then update via the exe files only and don't open PX1 ever again, until the updates are available for Hybrid.

94.02.42.C0.0E for me. On my non OC BIOS, I flashed the HYBRID conversion normal BIOS, then flashed the XOC normal HYBRID, then flashed the 500W normal HYBRID bios with ReBAR. i do have rebar enabled as well.

Does yours have the NCP81610 voltage controller. Any updates to the shunt values or fuse sizes?

I'm not sure which one is the voltage controller. I did take some pictures, but I wasn't able to locate anything with that. What I did notice is that the 3 shunts in the front are different values from the image i found of the old card. The PCIE shunt on the back appears to be different. The last thing I see is a group of 4 capacitors on the back labeled C2275 near the left VRAM at the bottom are gone.

Been using the XOC BIOS since it released and it's been working fantastic, when can we expect a version with resizable bar support? Edit: my bad, read the post about the update and it all worked out. Automatic update with evga precision

Can anyone share a xc3 ultra rebar vbios? I have a 3090 ftw3 ultra with the hybrid kit and the xc3 vbios. Thi vbios allow me to use the card at full speed like already stated in previous posts I can't use px1 because if it constantly says that i have to reboot the pc. Thank you

Today I installed the new EVGA Precision X1 ver. 1.1.8.0 and it suggested to update my BIOS. It updated to version 94.02.42.80.AD and with power slider set to 119% I got up to 410W while playing BF V. My PCI-E slot power hit 79.1W at some point and GPU 3 8 pin connector is still down by a few W compared to the other 2 connectors. Overall I'm still wondering if I should apply for RMA to the special program since my GPU can overclock to 2175 Mhz game stable and memory can do +1400 again game stable.

Mine won't go above 1900-1950MHz...or it will spike occassionaly to 2100 and crash.

Use the curve setting to overclock and after 1.053 volt apply 2100mhz-2130mhz.
