hi

I have EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 TI FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING Do I have to plug the fan into the fan header that is connected to the GPU or can I hook the fan anywhere else ?

Because I want to replace the fan with CORSAIR ML120 PRO RGB and I want to connect the fan with RGB Lighting Hub to control the lighting ?

The radiator fan can be connected to any "fan header" you want to use .... however - the fan speed will not be tied to GPU temps if you attach it to the MB directly

I have 15 Corsair fans in my 1000D chassis. In my opinion trying to connect the GPU fans to a Corsair Commander Pro or Lighting Node Pro is a bad idea. The GPU fans rev up based on GPU heat and there is no way to regulate that when connected to anything but the card itself. Secondly the card would need to be mounted with the fans facing the left case glass to look good. I still want to be 100 percent sure so I am reaching out to my Corsair contacts.

Apparently the closest thing to making that look good was someone mounted a Corsair lighting strip to a fan mount. Sounds quite funky to me but if you go down that path at least you can regulate the RGB with iCUE if you connect to a lighting node pro.

If you have an ASUS motherboard for example there is a way to do this using only software without too much of a wiring mess. You can pull the color from icue using the SDK, and then send it to aura using the aura SDK.

The corsair fans should be fine as long as he only keeps the rgb connection in commander pro and connects the pwm header directly to the video card. I did it in my old build for a bit until I found out that the LL fans suck for radiators.

On the last Z390 build, I use the special header on the MB - to control RGB of fans with the fan hub
