XC-Volcom I can only hope they get burned. I chatted with the guy on amazon who was selling his for $1,200 and asked him why he thought price gouging the card was okay.
He basically told me that it's a "sellers market" and he can do what he wants.
I can't disagree, because it's legal. But I gave him flack for thinking anyone would pay for a card that is better than a titan x but with half the MSRP.
Price gouging the card defeats the purpose of the low cost high output of the card.
It's the old law of supply and demand at work here. And he is right, it's definitely a "sellers market". Glad you got on him for that.

Honestly I don't know what the point of the Titan X is - maybe for people who need the professional-class stuff for rendering and such, I believe it's similar to the Quadro in that regard? IIRC for gaming and typical home-user tasks the 980Ti scored about the same as the Titan X, which IMO renders (heh) the Titan pointless for home users. And the 1080 I believe has much higher performance than either.
XC-Volcom What's the MSRP for a FTW in the EU? I bet it's not Australia bad but Canada's cards (just north of our damn country) has a $218 higher cost than if you bought it domestic.
I dunno what the MSRP is, but here are the prices (for the FTW) various e-tailors are currently listing at: Overclockers UK: £668.99 Novatech: £699.60 Amazon: £668.99 Scan: £674.99 eBuyer: £722.99 Aria: £661.98 That's UK prices BTW. We're still (currently) part of the EU
These are high as well based on those prices. 1£ = $1.30 dollars (approximately). MSRP for 1080 FTW is $679 dollars or £522

Figures. We always get boned vs US prices. Just not as bad as some other places (like Australia). That said currently on eBay there's cards (from the US only I should note, I don't think anyone has one here yet) going for £671.29 - fairly competitive even after shipping and import fees, I've not seen any huge con prices on eBay so far. Of course, then you don't get support/warranty and have to deal with UK customs charges so not worth it for me personally. XC-Volcom - Yeah, it's pretty crappy. Though it comes down to the conversion rate a lot of the time so it depends how well we're doing. TBH we get it mild compared to the total screwing over some countries get.

I have just received evidence that this whole GTX 1080 card thing is a huge hoax! Yes, you have seen videos of them on YouTube. However, those were created in a NASA studio by Stanley Kubrick. (Yes, he is still alive but that is another hoax we will not go into today.) None of the people in the videos are never seen anywhere in real life. You have never seen them, have you? Newegg, Amazon and the other sellers of cards are all in on the hoax. Anyone that you actually know that claims to have one is either lying or is part of the hoax. (Be cautious they may be real aliens. Yes, those from outer space.) AMD, feeling left out has started their own version of this hoax with a so called RX 480 card. I think the whole thing is a prelude to alien invasion.

I have seen a 1080 FTW go for $1,200 on Ebay. People will buy it at that price. I cant fault the seller. People that are impatient and have money to burn. More power to em. Supply and demand. Peasants that will not pay over retail. You have a choice. Wait for stock or pay more. No one is holding a gun to any one.

I tried sending to customer support but received error messages when posting. So, it's going here instead. How can you allow all those people on Amazon who are listing your cards at WELL over your retail prices? How can you allow them to purchase all those cards when there's low stock to begin with. How can you allow them to make all of us who have purchased and love your products have to wait and wait to purchase one of your cards at suggested retail? I've tried and tried to get on on NewEgg who seems to be the ONLY reseller with some damn honor who are selling them at retail. However it's near impossible to manage to put one of your 1080's into the cart and purchase it. I've been trying since release and I'm on auto-notify. Even then I put a 1080 FTW in my cart and when I went to pay with Paypal it told my my cart was empty. My god. I will NOT pay $900 for a FTW. I just WILL NOT. If I were you I'd restrict which vendors can purchase your stock based on agreeing to sell at retail pricing. At this point I'd dare say NewEgg should get the lions share of stock. Those Ebay and Amazon sellers are on my list. I've made a list of them and I will never buy anything from them. Please review how you handle your limited stock in the future. I'm planning on waiting to purchase until there's more stock but I'm afraid all these "scalpers" are going to keep eating up the stock before I can even complete my order on NewEgg. Thanks for listening and sorry but I am very frustrated. --Bob

Bob, Amazon is a free market place where anyone can sell goods on. Treat it like an American farmers/flea market. EVGA has no affiliation with most (if not all) of the sellers on that site. They are all mostly consumers who were lucky enough to grab cards early and are now reselling them at inflated prices in order to capitalize on the high demand/low supply. Please do some research before accusing EVGA of something they cannot control.

Bob, The FTW version is by far the hardest card to get right now from EVGA. Every since it went on sales. Its gone in seconds when it does come up at places. You don't stand a chance against these people. Trust me. They are a dedicated bunch that literally F5 24/7. They also setup 1 click purchases. So, when it does come up. All they have to do is add to cart and submit. Or just click submit only like Amazon 1 click shopping. If you are willing to drop down to a Superclocked or FE version from EVGA. Those are a bit easier to get. Especially the FE. I have also seen places allowing a 2 card purchase. Not cool when supply and demand is so high. Newegg allows only 1 card per purchase. I mentioned earlier rumors said stock will not improve until August. It looks to be true and heading that way.

EU price on EVGSs own store is 769 Euro which used to equate to around £590 before all this brexit stuff (which is what amazon were selling them for at one point) Now its more like £650 Luckily I pre ordered mine when the price was £599

LOL! Thanks for making me laugh at the situation. Last time I tried at NewEgg I got the auto-notify on my mobile phone. I immediately went to the item and put the FTW in my cart. IN MY CART! I clicked the pay with Paypal button and the screen refreshed and "ERROR: Sorry, you have no items in your cart". What? WHAT??! This happened several times before I gave up frustrated. I'll keep trying. Maybe I'll be lucky with a SC instead. Sigh.

Ya dude. You very well may understand what it is, which makes it even more confusing that you would berate EVGA for what other people are doing. Not really something I want to argue over, but it seems your anger is misguided ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
