I would like to SLI a pair of these SC2 Hybrids, but I don't have either an opening or space for a second radiator/fan on the back of my case. Also, there are limitations, because the hoses cannot be disconnected for trying to route them out of the case.
So, I've decided that I want to mount one of the radiator/fans horizontally at the top of the case - the one from the highest PCIe slot. However the manual says that the radiator and fan have to be mounted vertically (i.e., basically limiting the mounting location to the back of the case, which only has room for one 120mm fan). I am using a Corsair Obsidian Series Black 800D Full Tower Computer Case. I can't use the front of the case, because it has no fan mount and in any case it is occupied with devices and the hoses won't reach even if I were to hack it up.
What do I need to do or replace to be able to mount the radiator/fan combo of the top PCIe SC2 hybrid card, horizontally to the top of my case? Where does the limitation to have to mount it vertically come from? Is it in the radiator or the fan (which I can replace with an aftermarket fan)? Is it because of an air inside the radiator issue, where the air has to bubble to the top and mounting the radiator horizontally will prevent it from functioning properly?
