Switching psu's only changed the tone of the noise, but its still just as loud.

Could it be possible that these cards are picky on PSU? Heard that nowadays electronics are picky on quality of the voltage. Smaller chips and efficiency on them. If there is lots of ripple in the voltage and low guality or PSU thats not up to nowadays standards the card won't perform so well. Adding regional quality of AC that is provided from the wall.

Just thinking 10x series overall. Since lots of people having issues with 10x cards. People might be using still old PSU's that are good but have less ripple control since older technic.

Would be interesting to test does PSU affect overclocking.

It's most likely the PSU giving the problems. I upgraded my PSU from a XFX 1000w to a Corsair HXI 1200w to accommodate my 5820K and the kingpin when I get one.

Do we have any reviews up yet that compare this card on air and water to regular FE?

As of right now I have a friend wanting to buy, and I am saying this would be a waste of money unless LN or exotic cooling.

I've been waiting to see reviews on water but haven't seen any.

There isn't a water block, so it isn't going to be seen for a while.

I knew EK was not going to do one.  But EVGA did not release one with the launch?  Did they release atleast a liquid pot for nitrogen or helium as this is what is the card is ment to do?

EVGA doesn't sell LN2 pots. At least, not that they advertise. You buy those directly from K|ngp|n and 8pac and other extreme overclocking places.

No, EVGA did not release a waterblock for this card. That should be coming soon. I have a strong feeling that a waterblock is just going to raise the price, and possibly not move the performance much, maybe just make it more stable.

My current psu is a corsair rm850, the alternate psu I tried is the psu for my new watercooled system, a evga 1000w t2. You are correct in some cases, but not in mine

Yeah. Just read sometime ago on about people getting expensive powerbackup systems because of AC quality from wall.

Seems that first batches have always small issues... maybe I gotta be just happy that didn't grab any from it :P

Are people noticing any more performance from the Kingpin than what you could get from other 1080 Ti cards like the FTW3 for example?

Third time in a row?  At least you have one. Some of us probably won't get to own one with the way the stock of the card has been.

It was my 2nd card. First one had terrible coil whine, 2nd one has messed up mini-display ports.

Im hoping the 3rd card will be good. Honestly if I have any issues with the 3rd card I'm going to ask for a refund.

I like this card because it can be converted to a single slot card on water, and the power connector placement. If I were to go with the ftw 3 card I wouldn't be able to push it hard on overclocking the way this kingpin card was designed for, that's why I've held out all year for it.

Yea not to mention my current watercooled 1080 ti power throttles at it's 375w max, I'd rather buy a kingpin than void the warranty of this one.

I don't think I am going to bother with the Kingpin 1080 Ti as I am hearing too many bad things and not much that is good from users.

I may get another couple of Titan Xp cards as they are freely available, work well and are faster than a Kingpin 1080 Ti anyway.

How would you void your warranty? It would seem the KPE is running into the exact same limits, so...

Damn. What card is that? It even beats the Kingpin's 130% power limit. I assume you would be putting it under water and switching to the LN2 BIOS?

It's a waterforce xtreme from gigabyte. It's got a different stock bios than the other non-waterforce xtremes but I've found it to behave oddly at times. Like sometimes it'll report it's drawing 375 but it'll only actually be pulling ~250w. I really couldn't recommend it. But anyways I might use the LN2 Bios if I had a kingpin but I thought they had a jumper that changed the power measure circuit so you could still use the normal bios's that are better suited for 24/7 without a power limit?

130% on the kingpin = 390w.

300W standard? Thought it was 280W like all others from EVGA. My mistake.

It's 280w standard, but at 130% it is set to 390w.

Oh but there is a block for this card: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/water-blocks/vga-blocks/universal-vga-waterblocks/vga-supremacy
Use them all the time so I don't have to buy a full cover block every time a new card comes out.

That, and the thermosphere both work, but just remember to keep a fan on the VRM at least. As long as you do that, it will work fine.

Using these with a fan work really well: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/akasa-ak-vmc01-bk-vga-ram-heatsinks

Don't need that on the KPE. The VRM heatsink is separate from the vram, so point a fan and be happy :-)

I had the 980 and 980ti K.P. both in SLI and I agree with you what's the point if they are not on LN2. I will stick with my Titan Xp very happy.

I'll echo the two questions that were asked that I am also curious about:
-Any word ETA for next shipments e.g. next week/month?
-Will we be able to buy the OE water block separately?

Thank you!

I am sorry if this was answered before, but when can we expect the waterblocks to the 1080 Ti Kingpin to be available?
