Sigh. Got my RMA card today, sending it back tomorrow  2 out of 3 mini display ports dont work. Hoping the 3rd times the charm.

Third time in a row?  At least you have one. Some of us probably won't get to own one with the way the stock of the card has been.

It was my 2nd card. First one had terrible coil whine, 2nd one has messed up mini-display ports.

Im hoping the 3rd card will be good. Honestly if I have any issues with the 3rd card I'm going to ask for a refund.

I like this card because it can be converted to a single slot card on water, and the power connector placement. If I were to go with the ftw 3 card I wouldn't be able to push it hard on overclocking the way this kingpin card was designed for, that's why I've held out all year for it.

You realize that adding voltage to Pascal before you're sub-zero, or at the very least, have coolant down near about 5c or lower, is absolutely worthless, yes?  So, you're essentially pining for a GPU that's meant for LN2 cooling, so you can put it under water and "overclock better" than the FTW3.

I can't wait until you're back here in a few weeks complaining about it.  Happens every.single.release.  These forums are full of fool's tears.

I would like to know this too! But I am leaning more toward an FTW3.

Dangit, my EVGA Notification went to the spam box...that's a first.  Anddd it's sold out, guess I'll keep waiting.

Edit-snagged one! Back in stock, albeit briefly.

Unfortunately, if EVGA does not sell the water block individually I will probably sell it used to swap out with the hydro copper model. I want this card on water when I'm not using it with LN2 or phase change.

It's frustrating as a consumer to hear that I won't have many h2o options despite the maturity of the 1080 ti family.

I was planning to purchase a Kingpin last night when i saw them available but then i went away back from pc in order to try and resist it :)) I said meh and i will probably grabb a ftw3 instead. Since EVGA did not even bother to share their findings about the 980 ti Kingpin issues that mutliple users experienced on this forums how can i know that i won't face the the same thing again ? (We even provided serial keys to make their job easy)

As a loyal customer who purchased nothing but only Evga graphics card and mostly Classified and Kingpin series for so many years i think i will pass this one even if it makes me sad to do so. Since i don't want to end up wasting money on shipments and import fees again in order to RMA which is equal to more than what card is worth btw, i think this choice will be wise.

It would be amazing if Evga could comment and share their findings about the cards i returned to them... But they didn't even reply, no matter how many times i asked for this. It has been months already and not a single reply from EVGA, amazing isn't it ?

That is unacceptable. They will continue telling us how amazing this product is, they gonna make a lot of posts and videos to share to advertise it as usual and then in the long term, a few months after this if we ever face same kind of issues again who can guarantee that we won't be ignored again like the way they did with 980 ti Kingpin ?

Well since they didn't reply under many 980 ti Kingpin threads i decided to post this here, maybe finally we can get a reply, who knows ? :))

Have a nice day everyone and enjoy your kingpins. I hope no one of you experience anything bad.

I have card, still in the box not yet opened. I could just sell it here instead, seeing how it seems like there won't be any blocks sold separately, only pre-installed hydro copper ones, which makes my card useless.

Don't be so quick to sell. Use one of these and you can change cards all you want and only use one block. Just put a fan on the vrm and you are golden. Also you can add a chiller and really make this card show it's potential. See pictures and link below.

Haha, that's quite the rig you got there. Already made the decision to return the card though. Since I'm only going for water cooled and bios mods it's kind of a waste to rock a KPe, better leave it to people that can use the card to it's full potential :)

Where did this information come from? I would like to buy one and then later install the waterblock. I think resale value is much better when having an air cooled option available. Kind of hurt myself with my 2 GTX 680 Hydro Coppers when I want to sell them after an upgrade.

Why has this thread gone so quiet.

This was one of the most anticipated cards this year and yet no one is posting anything.

I think it's because the Kingpin came in too late to the party.  It may very well be the last major Pascal card released.  And as such everyone has already bought and benched their FTW, Strix, etc cards.

I just got mine, anything you want to know?  I'm working on a new build so it'll be on air for the time being.

I had the OC Strix but returned it once EVGA announced the Kingpin. I loved my Strix. I have been using a 780ti Classy since it released. I just want to know how the Kingpin performs in the real world, and how the lights are(curious). Or if I should just get a FTW3 or Strix again.. My Strix was running 2100Mhz fine on air. I had a good one.

You probably should have kept it.  ;)
Don't expect anything special from the Kingpin card, unless you are going to use exotic cooling.  Using standard air or water cooling, the odds of a Kingpin card performing well are the same as the odds for any other video card of the same type.

Probably. I will just wait to order another Strix or Kingpin. Kingpin was just in stock but already gone. My 780ti Classy is still doing good at 1440p.
