Has anyone read/seen a review where they compared the Non-SC version and the SC version? I ordered the regular version from Newegg yesterday thinking the only difference was just that the SC was clocked higher, but if the cooler is different and it will have a decent impact on heat/noise/performance I will return that one and wait it out.

EVGA_JacobF
Yes the cooler is different. There are dual heatpipes + more copper on SC. Temp difference is about 10C. You may see a few reviews comparing the difference soon.

I made the same mistake thinking the only difference was firmware. Too late now though, already shipped & I don't want to deal with returning it so hopefully it does not get too hot.

Even on EVGA's own site it's not very clear that the coolers are different.

When are they supposed to be in stock in Europe? I really want to buy it since I can hardly play anything with my old card.

Yeah pretty much the same question here .

Here in France Evga 1060 ACX 2.0 are unexisting , let alone 1060 ACX 3.0 but i guess this is an other story . In the same time 1060's from all the other brand are in stock .

Since i have a 30 % discount code from a big French retailer that takes end this month i really hope that at least 1060 SC will be available here in time because if not i will be forced to go probably with G1 gaming .

Big fan of Evga but loyalty has limits !!!

I finally got a hold of the 1060 SC from Newegg, should be here on Friday. As usual my impatience is forcing me to start pre overclocking in my head, so does anyone have any idea about the exact point at which the temp makes the card start downclocking? I saw one review mention 71/72C but it wasn't entirely clear. Thanks.

Temps downclock one bin (by 12.5MHz) each time at about: 60C, 65C, 70C, 75C, 80C and then actively throttle aggressively at 83C which is the default temp limit. It may be lesser temperature points but it's roughly like this with Pascal. These points cannot be changed as they are built into the Pascal architecture.

Just another thing I noticed on newegg.

Return Policies

    Return for refund within: Non-refundable
Return for replacement within: 30 days

This item is covered by Newegg.com's Replacement Only Return Policy.

So if the non-sc version does run a lot hotter I'm stuck with it anyways unless EVGA could replace/upgrade it.
Also I can't tell on the sc version if the heatsink touches the mosfets but the non-sc model for sure looks to have nothing over them. Even zotac's 1060 mini that has a similar heatsink to the evga non-sc version looks to have something on the mosfets from looking at the screws on the back.

Though evga's warranty is still 3 years so they must think it's good enough that it wont fry within that time. Does using a after market GPU cooler void the warranty?

Is there a guide out there to oc the normal EVGA 1060? Right now I just have my settings at 116% power target, 205 gpu offset, and 400 mem offset. I've gotten like crashes (computer shut down, driver crashes, game crash) at like 215-225 gpu offsets. I'd only get like 2050 or 2025 at most. But benchmarking has been fine at like 225 gpu offset.

So your stable at +205MHz but get crashes at +215MHz? I mean your setting it around 100MHz faster than the SC version, what are your temps & fan speed? I think you would OC it just like any other GTX 1060.

I set my fan speeds to max and it'll reach around 78-80 around there sometimes 82. I'm not sure if its actually stable at 205 yet since I haven't played all day. But I know sometimes I'll crash on 215 after a day or two.

Edit: Also that video doesn't seem to explain the reasoning by setting your voltage to 50%..

Any idea when the SSC and FTW models will be released? I need to replace my R9 290x soon and am not sure how much longer it will last. Not sure if I should keep waiting or just get a different 1060 that's available.

I know my EVGA GTX 670 FTW card was unstable out of the box with the factory OC, underclocking it just -13MHz made it rock solid stable & I never bothered to RMA it. That is part of the reason I went with the standard EVGA GTX 1060 vs the SC version, thinking the only difference was in the firmware.

My GTX 1060 should be here tomorrow so I'll report back after I do a few tests. My case has good airflow but my room can get pretty hot at times, sometimes over 90F.

Is there any info on when more evga gtx 1060 sc's will be coming to europe? I've been waiting for a couple of weeks now for my evga gtx 1060 sc :(. All this waiting is going to make me insane.

So, i got my GTX 1060 Non-SC today, and not very satisfied about the cooler after quick test (I bought it because i thought it had the same cooler then the SC) And it's pretty noisy when running graphically demanding games. On Doom with ultra settings, temperature rises to about 82c, and ~80% fan.(Bios is updated) The temperature doesn't change much, even if i put the fan to 100%.
I can hear the noise clearly trough my headphones while gaming.
Idling is ok, 40-45c with 0% fan. In Fractal Design R5 case, with 2 intake fans.
I'm thinking about changing the cooler, anyone have experience/thoughts with Arctic Cooling Accelero Mono Plus? Would it fit and be improvment?

The cooler would only be 35€ (40$) with mail included. Or perhaps i should just return this card..

I believe it has a reference 1060 pcb so this would fit (arctic.ac/uk_en/accelero-twin-turbo-ii.html)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Just return it and get the SC man.

I have no idea why EVGA slapped the 750/950 cooler on a X60 card.

Or just return it and wait for the SSC and FTW model - which hopefully will be announced soon, but still no update on this.
I think the SSC/FTW models will be 30-50$(€) more expensive than the current 1060, which means you are basically paying the same at the end.

Is there any more information about the 1060 SSC and FTW releases? I need a new GPU by August 25th and would really like to get one of those two if they are out in time. Information on clock speeds and pricing would also be appreciated.

I'm waiting as well for them but I really don't think they will come this month. Probably end of september or mid october.
The 970 SSC 2.0+ and FTW+ were also released a few months later.

I'm waiting for the 1060 FTW as well. I originally was going to go with a 1070, but since I only run a single 1080p monitor it would be way overkill for my needs.

Does anyone know if the SSC/FTW will come with a backplate?

HI, I just received the gtx 1060 (not the sc) and running battlefield 4 on ultra is great but is it normal for it to run 80 to 82c anyone know it seems to be a bit hot plays fine though getting 120 to 130 fps on ultra just worried about the heat goes down to 78 or so on high

Where? I can't find it anywhere.

EDIT: Oh, you mean on EVGA's website. I see what you mean - could it be that it was never in stock? Also, are the prices always in $... is it North America only on the official site?

There seems to be a problem with the 'products' link at the top, but here it is. On a side note it says it's the FTW, but the pictures show a SSC model..

I think it's 6gb version for $320, regular FTW is $300
