cloiselle1 What if you are approved. The 1080ti is on the list but they're not in stock?
Or if you applied but are still in que?

Just got my payment in for my icx version 1080 FTW's. Step up starts from the moment they ship these cards to me so that carries me till June. Without step up (my original 1080's are long past step up) I would have passed over the Ti's and waited for Volta. Now I will probably skip Volta as I'll be set for awhile with Ti. Hope I can get the ACX version but FE would keep me happy too. Too hard to pass up getting Ti's for a fraction of the cost. As long as I'm in the que I'm happy and can wait. My 1080's are still awesome!

not sure where you're located, but total time for me from NJ was about a week total. Used USPS to ship to EVGA, since they have 2-day shipping for fairly cheap ($26 insured for me), and then the free shipping back was supposed to take from friday-friday, but it came in on a wednesday instead.

1080 SC2 with iCX - is it using reference PCB layout, just with additional thermal sensors?

I dont honestly think it can be considered reference pcb with the sensors on it, because the sensors would interfere with reference blocks and so on. Not to mention, they would have to run different traces/wiring to be able to monitor all of the sensors, which alters the reference layouts. That is just my thought at this point.. hopefully evga will be able to give more info soon.

I believe it has an extra fan header that interferes.

Precision Software. Afterburner can only control the fan for the core. It can not control the fan for the vrn section.

As Scarlet said...MSI Afterburner will only run the GPU fan. Do you absolutely need Precision...YES "if" you want to control both fans. Remember that the vbios of the card will ramp the VRM/Power fan around 60C, regardless of the software. The other features with Precision are that you can monitor the 9 temperature sensors built into the card...plus, you can enable the Thermal LED lights, which only monitor temps when Precision is running. When you enable the LED's...they are always on, but without Precision they will always be the default blue. I have tested with Precision and Afterburner...figured that the LED's were lit...must be active...NOT. Only Precision can change the colors of the Thermal LED's.

No problem. In all honesty...in a discussion I had with Unwinder, you will most likely never see a version of Afterburner that will control fans separately. Most companies are only concerned with the GPU, itself.

So bummed. Wanted to get a 1080 ftw2 and use the step up program but evga is charging like 60 bucks for next day shipping. Insane. almost 30 usd for standard shipping.... the model I want is also out of stock at newegg and conveniently still $679 at amazon. Since the 9 series this whole product stock / pricing war thing has really gotten to me, :( Can we stop inflating gpu prices and mfg and ship enough to retailers pls? Thanks <3

Just buy the card you want and dont go through step up. Far easier than dealing with the wait.

^^ So much this. That's why I ended up selling the FTW2. Much as a step up even to a reference card would have been nice, I decided I'd rather just get what I could for my card now before prices dropped and be able to buy whichever one at my leisure rather than wait in possible step up purgatory for who knows how long.

Hi to all, I was on the phone with EVGA and people with EVGA GTX 1080 Classified as EVGATech_ChrisB stated wil have a 120 days special step up program only to 1080Ti Founders Edition. That is currently available for step up program to all. According to what I was told, the 1080Ti FTW3 will not be available for the step up program. The only 1080 Ti that will be in the step up program will be the Founders Edition. Best Regards, Medico

How about the FTW owners that are still waiting in approval purgatory? I fully plan on stepping up to a Ti once I get the FTW2. I submitted my request shortly after the iCX upgrade announcement on Feb 10th and am still waiting. If we could just skip the whole upgrade logistics from FTW ACX to iCX and go straight to Ti, it would save us all a lot of time and effort making way for a more efficient work stream for the EVGA employees dealing with all the trade ins. Please and thank you😆

As much as I asked and hoped for that exact thing it will not happen. This is the response I got earlier today from EVGA regarding this. Hello, There was much discussion over this issue, and unfortunately we decided that customers would need to complete the entire iCX Upgrade process before being able to start a step-up. I apologize for the inconvenience. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Regards, EVGA That decision just cost me an extra $120 cdn (I have 2 cards) in shipping and about an extra 2-3 weeks of missing cards. And of course it is costing EVGA more as well and making a perfectly good FTW2 ICX card into something for refurbs/rmas only. But that is their decision. Still very glad I even have the chance to step-up, just wish they had decided this. Ah well.
