Just an FYI, the power+memory fan will not spin if we decide to use MSI Afterburner instead of eVGA PXOC. Only the GPU fan spun up until I installed PXOC.

That is very interesting. Although I plan to use PXOC, this is getting bit proprietary. Hope someone from EVGA can clarify this. What if I choose not to install anything? Will it ever come on?

That isn't surprising. Unwinder the author of Afterburner frequents the Guru3D forum section as they host the program. You could ask or make a suggestion to check into this. Though his history with EVGA... http://forums.guru3d.com/forumdisplay.php?f=55However, you'd think that at some point the fan would come on due to firmware on the GPU.

Any Canadians that took advantage of this upgrade? How much was it to ship your card to the US?

While I haven't done it yet I did look into the cost. Using Xpresspost with the medium priced option you are looking at about $40 without full insurance and about $60 with. This is with a box the size of the original box, well about that size. You can look yourself here: https://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/far/business/findARate?execution=e1s1Just use your postal code and then use 92821 for the zip.

I chatted the other day with Unwinder about this and he stated that Afterburner would only detect the GPU fan controller. He cannot do more without having a physical ICX card to work on. So the only way to get the card to work properly right now is Precision XOC. The only way the Power /VRM fan will work is when temps get high enough for the card's bios to kick them in. I am going to give Precision a shot. Jacob posted about the latest version release 6.1.1 and others with ICX say it works very well to control BOTH fans.

Is it possible to use Afterburner and Precision XOC at the same time, where the fans are controlled by Precision XOC and you only have the OSD for games from Afterburner?

Not a good idea, as the program will fight for control. You can download the osd program separate and try that, but it would not be advisable to run two separate control programs.

Will this make idle times quieter in cards that haven't been overclocked? I record audio using my DAW, I'd like to get the card (1070) as quiet as possible. Any benchmarks? I also very occasionally experience freezes when not running games in Win10. It's hard to detect what the issue is (no smoking gun in the event viewer, and PSU is way overspecced). Wonder if this will help. I suspect the answer to these questions may be no however.. Thanks...

What are the rest of your PC specs? I experience the opposite.....An hr of prime95+ASUS Realbench= fine, load up a game....crash. I suspect corrupt driver install, windows in general, lol and directx corruption. I ran chkdsk /f /r /x on all drives, sfc /scannow and reinstalled DirectX 10 Redistributable package. So far, no crashes this morning. I hope my PC is done throwing a tantrum now.

At a risk of sounding like DT, I have tried everything... believe me folks. I've gone through the greatest diagnostics, reinstall and rebuilds ever. I'm no longer interested in fixing it to be honest - it is very rare, I'm just curious about the two questions I asked. Cheers..

AngelGraves13 Ups says they delivered my ICX upgrade, but I didn't get it. I've sent eVGA an email, but fear they delivered it to the wrong address or it was stolen from my "front door" where Ups delivered it.
Does eVGA not require a signature for a $800 GPU? What the hell...
They should. On the shipping notices I've been getting from UPS (including today's reminding me of delivery tomorrow), they have all had the white/yellow alert stating "A signature is required for package delivery". UPS should be able to tell you who signed for it.

One odd thing I did notice was that UPS is listing the package's shipping weight as just 1 lb. Even Amazon lists it as a shipping weight of 4.5 lbs, so I'm assuming it's an error (unless they decided to ship out the t-shirt by itself, which I doubt). Anyone else's UPS tracking showing that? Also, out of curiosity, has anyone who received their cards (or have them on the way) seen them registered yet? The ICX upgrade page did say "EVGA will automatically register your product", which I assume means we don't have to do it ourselves. I've been checking the "My Products" area, but so far see only my ACX and other older products. Additionally, has anyone confirmed whether our upgrades qualify us for the free game promos EVGA is offering for For Honor (or Ghost Recon Wildlands) and Rad Rodgers?

Free game promotions from nvidia only come from brand new purchases. The upgrade is still considered a promotion, and does not qualify for games. All users really should read the icx upgrade terms and conditions, as 99% of questions have previously been answered before they were asked: From.the terms and conditions: terms and conditionsProducts received through the iCX Upgrade Program will be considered new-in-box promotional products, and participant will be considered the original owner of the iCX Upgrade product. Products received from the iCX Upgrade program are not eligible for promotions listed on EVGA.com, except where noted otherwise and not prohibited by law.

Not new fans. New cooler design and new pcb. Overclocks are 100% dependent on the gpu core itself.

I haven't been looking in other places but have not seen anyone beyond the 10th post here that they've been approved. Unless I missed something. When approved, you will get an email and the iCX upgrade page will change to allow you to make payment for your upgrade.

I just wish I knew what was going to happen with the Classified 1080's. Tuesday is supposed to be the last day for this special program, and at my age, I may not live long enough to go through a huge waiting list for my name to come to the top of the list...., whatever that list is. But..., I'm trying to be patient.

I imagine that a lot of it has to do with quantity of models and the number of upgrades. There may have been twice the demand on the FTW or SC or Gaming of both 1080 and 1070. There are numerous upgrades...I don't think that anyone in the queue for your particular model was chosen in front of you. They may have been the queue for a different model.

Same thing happened here. 1 lb package as listed by UPS.
Never delivered, but UPS claims they delivered it.
Worst RMA experience of my life. 8-10 business day investigation is now underway. I had to go to Frys to buy a 1060 GTX just so I can use my PC until this gets sorted.
eVGA didn't give me a clear answer if they're going to send me another card or if I'm out $800 bucks.

AngelGraves13 Same thing happened here. 1 lb package as listed by UPS.

An EVGA video card would normally weigh 3-4 lbs. Remember...there is supposed to be a T Shirt in the package as well, so I would err to the side of 4 lbs. This doesn't sound like your video card replacement. On your products page, is the tracking number listed?

It says "preparing for shipment" Tech Support wasn't helpful as they couldn't answer any questions regarding it. They said "it's probably a mistake." I'm not really sure what they meant. UPS weighed it wrong? The product page has an error? They didn't automatically add the RMA product, but they manually added it when I called to My Products. I'm starting to think my 1080 FTW2 hasn't actually shipped out.

I strongly suggest that sometime tomorrow, call EVGA 1-888-881-3842 or reach out to the Support Manager Chris B...he is pretty terrific! chrisb@evga.com He should be able to look up what is going on for you and see if "preparing for shipment" really means that. I can't imagine that the product page hasn't been update to say your tracking number. Yes...you should receive an email with a tracking number, but it should also be verified under "My Products" page. Where it says "Pending for shipment" it would change to the tracking number. Is the shipping out option still there?

Since there's an investigation into the lost 1 lb package, I fear that now they think that they've shipped me my graphics card and won't actually ship it out, so I'll be getting nothing for my RMA.

It can't hurt to talk to the correct department. As I stated earlier...a 1 lb package wouldn't be a graphics card. Maybe the T shirt...this just doesn't add up. Chris should be able to look up your account and even the tracking number and see what was shipped.
