AH interesting, first time I've seen an option for not only double Vram, but Quad Vram as well. good to have another price point for the 700 series.

Confused on the Value vs the difference between http://www.evga.com/products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-3748-KR vs http://www.evga.com/products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-2747-KR .  Obviously the 04G-P4-2747-KR is GDDR3 and 04G-P4-3748-KR is GDDR5, but the price point is identical?  It also appears that the 04G-P4-3748-KR has a 6Pin power plug and is dual slot  from the picture, however for the 04G-P4-2747-KR it is listed as a dual slot card too?  Just a little confused based off the pictures and if both are dual slots whats the selling point of the 04G-P4-2747-KR ?

I wonder how well these cards do on mining or for dedicated PhysX, for only $100 a piece and even less power usage then the 750 TI it has my interest.

Are these Kepler or Maxwell? Reason I ask is that i havnt seen any place cover this. If it Maxwell I plan to buy the single slot and try and pop the cooler off possibly and put on a 750 ti. If its kepler I plan to get the FTW 2gb and try to put my single slot 640's cooler on it.

Im guessing its just a slightly newer variants of the 640 (740 GDDR3) and 650 (740 GDDR5) from what I can tell. I did find a few articles saying that it was a Kepler GK107 on there. I may bite the bullet and pick up the FTW 2GB and try my 640 single slot cooler on it, however im not seeing the 2GB card on newegg. Does anyone from EVGA happen to know why?

What's with the core clock deficit on these cards?  the 02G-P4-3744-KR(http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=02G-P4-3744-KR) shows the core clock as 1202Mhz and the 04G-P4-3748-KR(http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-3748-KR) shows it as 1085Mhz. The only differences are the cooler and the amount of memory so can someone elaborate on this for me? If they are exactly the same then one being clocked nearly 120Mhz higher right out of the gate would cause a significant performance difference and therefore make the slower clocked versions rather pointless.

As far as I can see the 1202 clocked has a 6 pin connector and the 1085 does not. Also one is SC the other is FTW. Clock speeds are usually different with these across the same line.

I know that, I just find it odd that the 740 has such varying speeds across it's lineup. The lower end GPU's don't often have such a core clock difference. I'm also curious as to why EVGA bothered with anything other than GDDR5 for these cards, they much have a lot of spares or something that they didn't want to toss. I can't see any point for them otherwise.

On a side note, are there any plans for a low profile single slot version?

Hehehehe! Currently running my 750ti by itself and it is performing very well on normal settings, so I am curious how these little guys are doing.

Just glanced at the pictures... <3 where the 6 pin is connected on the FTW. Could we just take a second to imagine how clean wiring would look if it ran to the end instead of the side? I understand long cards may have issues with fitment, but I like the idea.

I believe this are from the "Maxwell" family as is the 750Ti.  I believe they said they were going to release the low-end of maxwell and high-end towards the end but with the timelines the last few years, who knows.

With these being Kepler based cards, they would likely make excellent PhysX cards. $100+ might be a bit much to dedicate to just that, though.

there probably arnt any because it a low end card and really the lowest end one that anyone would care about. Its also just rebadged 650's and 640's essentially.
