DarkFamiliarity Got it, so I would be getting this to flash on one of the slots: 4898_XOC_LHR_ovu.zip to get the 450W limit, maintain ReBAR support, and change it to be recognized as a hybrid? Thanks and sorry for the confusion. (To go from 10G-P5-3897-KL to the Hybrid 4898 even though the post says 3898 to 4898)
I updated the link and text for people with either 4898 or 4897 Device ID, such as yours, who want to flash to the HYBRID XOC BIOS. Grab that one instead.

Got it, just grabbed this file: 10G-P5-4898_12.14.22.zip This brings up a bit more confusion - I would grab this even though my card is 3897 and not 4897 right? And within this folder there are more files - if I want the latest XOC, do I use "\10G-P5-4898\XOC\2nd_U10830\4898_OC_450W_ovu.exe" or which exe should I use? Thank you

So, the part number of the card you purchased is always going to be 10G-P5-3987-KL, which means it's a 3080 FTW3 Ultra LHR card. All cards have varying changes over time, and we often have a separate internal part number to designate certain types of changes, and often the Device ID (which is what you saw in GPUz shows) may be slightly different than what's on the box. For example, the original Device ID of 3987-KR is 3987, of course. When changing to LHR, the Device ID to keep track of this change went to 4987 and other EVGA 30 Series cards followed this change. In your case, you're flashing it over to the LHR version of the HYBRID. The 3080 FTW HYBRID will still be 10G-P5-3988-KL on the box, but the LHR version Device ID will show 4988, similar to what you see in GPUz with yours. The XOC folder in the zip you downloaded has an XOC version with Normal BIOS behavior (i.e. the fan will turn off at low temps) and OC BIOS behavior (i.e. the fan will remain on and be a bit more aggressive). You can flash one, or both, if you choose. The other folders are if you want to just update the Normal or OC BIOS with the HYBRID BIOS.

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation! That clears up all the questions I had with the installation process. I went ahead with the install of 10G-P5-4898\XOC\1st_U2\4898_Normal_450W_ovu.exe, but PX1 shows the card as RTX 3080 FTW3 Gaming. The LED section still shows the air cooler LEDs and not the LED from the Hybrid cooler. Is there anywhere I can check to see if the card is now being detected as a hybrid? The BIOS version changed from 94.02.71.40.A9 to 94.02.71.40.B6 after the flash and reboot. GPU-Z lookup now says "Graphics device lookup failed" if that info helps at all, thanks.

I moved the file to the C drive root, as my desktop is on the D drive. I ran it as admin, rebooted, and Precision X1 still shows it as an RTX 3080 FTW3 Gaming.

@EVGATech_LeeM I'm looking to do the same type of bios update as @DarkFamiliarity, but holding off on further attempts until a solution is udpated here. 1) Starting with 10G-P5-3987-KL (3080 FTW3 LHR), recently installed the Hybrid Kit, and now trying to get the Hyrbrid XOC Bios. 2) PX1 showing "GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING" and Device ID 4897. GPU-Z showing Device ID 4897, and BIOS Version: 94.02.71.40.A9 3) Made sure fast boot and CSM are disabled prior. 4) Tried flashing "4898_XOC_LHR_ovu" as admin. Screen goes black for a few seconds, and then comes back on with a message in the console saying, "The display adapter firmware is up to date". During the brief time the screen was black, the fans didn't spin up nor did the red lights appear on the card that I've noticed occuring when Precision X1 does a firmware update. 5) Rebooted and GPUZ and Precision X1 still show the same device ID and "GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING", not the Hyrbid. Other thoughts - I'm running Windows 11, are there any compatibility issues there?

@EVGATech_LeeM, the situation with my previous post is still affecting me with random BSODs every ten days or so. I’m hoping you can give me some pointers.
I’ve had my 3090 Hybrid for a year and a half in my previous computer. Never installed PX1. The card came with C01F in normal, and C006 in OC positions from the factory.
Fast forward to a month ago, I built a new PC, but against my better judgement, installed PX1 this time, which immediately prompted to “update” the bios to the same C006, which I clicked “yes” in confusion. Ever since, I seem to get random windows crashes every once in a while. I had installed PX1 only to set LEDs to white, and then uninstalled it.
Any ideas if updating the bios to the same version would have caused an issue? First off, as I was on the latest bios from the start, why did PX1 deemed an update was necessary to the same bios version? Is there a way to force another “update” to see if it fixes anything?
I’m not very good in interpreting windows minidump files, but a person that took a look at two of them mentioned “it looks like your graphics card disconnected”.
Thanks

I went back to read the first post of this thread and I noticed that all the XOC bios's are "REBAR" bios's. Does this mean that we would not be able to use CSM mode after flashing one of these "REBAR" bios's on our card? Can we still use CSM / Legacy mode after flashing one of these "REBAR" bioses?

Hi guys can someone kindly assist as I am bit lost from the options in the OP (not sure if I am supposed to flash the XOC bios for the liquid cooled version of my card.....). Which one is the latest modded bios for 3080 FTW3 Ultra 10GB to get the most out of the card? Is there any bios that allows for slightly higher temps before the card throttles?

Hey guys, I have a 3090 FTW3 Ultra Rev. 0.1., bought it used. The recommended Bios should be the XOC NOT the one for the 3090OC cards, right? The card has a quite good Chip in game i can run 2235mh/1.1v , but in 3dMark it never goes above 2000mhz/0,995v. Does this relate to the powerbalance issues? Have been all revision 0.1 Cards open for RMA? The card is watercooled.

Hi guys I did flash my palit 3090 to the kingpin 1000w bios about a year ago and never had any problem. Well now I had a huge performance Problem: Whenever I would start the web browser launcher (I think its an app developed with Gradio? I am not sure) for Stable Diffusion my gpu would change to the p8 state. I tried for hours to fix this and what did fix it eventually was flashing the gpu to a different bios. Does this mean my gpu is not compatible with that bios for that specific application or the bios it self is not compatible with the Software? I loved the 1000w unlimited bios since I can support it with the cooling needed for that and my chip seems to be of very high qulity for high wattage. Is this kind of problem to be expected when running a not default bios?

I just received a replacement RMA 3080 FTW3 Ultra (second RMA) and fired up Precision X1 to change LED settings to be prompted that there is a new vbios version. Currently, 94.02.71.40.A9 - OC mode, 94.02.71.40.AA - Normal. Switch on either mode still results in a prompt to update the firmware. What is the latest firmware version and are there changelogs? The first time I had to RMA, my minty 3080 started exhibiting stability issues after the vbios update. I don't recall Precision X1 giving an option to backup vbios to roll back. Perhaps stability issues on that card were unrelated to the bios update, but I've developed extreme caution when it comes to doing this. It would be nice to know the changes between bios revisions in order to make a personal decision whether to update.

If your card is working without issues I would just skip the update as some people have said their cards bricked after updating resulting in having to rma.

I don't know why I am confused but I am. I have a 3080 FTW3 Ultra Hydro Copper LHR 10G-P5-3899-KL. I am considering updating the bios since I am having issues with RDR2.
