I bought a 2nd EVGA gtx970 today and for the life of me I can't get the SLI to work. Both cards show up in the control panel, but no matter what I do the SLI option remains disabled and grayed out. I've swapped locations of the cards, tried 3 different bridge cables, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers multiple times, tried different boot up sequences with one and two drivers, and nothing seems to fix the fact that the SLI remains grayed out. I should mention that my MB is a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI and am using windows 8. Please help. Thanks,

Alex

Is your motherboard on the newest bios?

    Hello Lonek

In the screen shot Maximize 3D Performance is checked off and enabled. They should be running in SLI mode at this point. However you are receiving the errors message about the bridge not being connected. Your only option would be to try a Bios update for the motherboard and to test the cards in another system in order to verify if the board or one of the cards is causing the issue.

I just updated the board to the latest Bios hoping that would fix the issue, but the SLI configuration still is grayed out. How would I determine if one of the cards or the board is causing the issue? Thanks!

Tried using that last night and every time I got to the install part I'd get the attached error. Everything is extracted and the patch says successful. Any thoughts?

Disable all antivirus programs. Re-download & re-extract the files and try again.

Don't have any antivirus installed yet; this pc is pretty much fresh out of the box.

Did you run both DifferentSLIAuto.exe & Install.cmd as admin?

Check the bridge cable and remember the way it is connected now. Take it off and turn it upside down and retry.

The patcher wasn't able to find the tools folder files. You need to extract all the files onto your local C:\ drive and try again.

I finally got it to work!!! I had to use this version of the download,  and that did the trick. The only thing is that now my PC runs in test mode. Not sure if that's an issue or not. Sajin, thanks so much for the help!

Running in test mode shouldn't be a problem.

Did you follow the DifferentSLIAuto1.1_2 readme exactly as shown? Have you tried using a different SLI bridge? Are you sure your SLI bridge isn't upside down?
