Just purchased GTX970SCC wish they were still doing the free backplates

Just got my GTX 970 SCC and I can't believe that I have to pay for a backplate for a video card that is over $330. Over company comes with one. The only reason why I got the EVGA over the Asustek because it would not fit in my Corsair Air 240 case. I'm still deciding if I should through down $30 for it. The card looks cheap without one. :-(

No, it was only a promotional thing last year that you get a free backplate. That promotional deal is over. You will need to pay $25 extra to get the backplate even though most over computer put that on there for free because your spending over $330 for this card.

Wish this promotion was available to Malta :/ when I registered mine, and went on the site the promotion was not available for your country. What a shame :/ Still love the card though.

Are they making exceptions? A few friends and I are shopping around for new graphics cards. We are awaiting the (probable) bundling of Witcher 3 and were considering EVGA this go-around. However, if the back plate is not something we can acquire without having to spend extra, then perhaps we shall look elsewhere.

I just got my GTX 970 FTW and the MicroCenter I purchased my card from had the backplates in stock. They priced matched EVGA's wesbite (they were selling them at MicroCenter for $29.99).

Most, if not all promo's have a start and end date. Not sure why you would stop getting Evga products just because you didn't buy the product during the specified time frame. That doesn't make any sense to me.

Because it should not be a promotion! If they are going to include backplates they should include backplates! And not use this as a shady way of making more money off a customer. I was under the impression I was going to get a backplate after I bought my card. All I can say is this better be a good card!

In love with this card! Big difference coming from a crap amd driver R9 270! GTA V Looks beautiful maxed out and absolutely no stutter! Very happy with my new product! And no coil whine!

I know it is bad etiquette to revive an old post, so I apologize.  However, I am wondering about the amazon link posted above.  I see that the backplate for the gtx 970 is double the cost of the backplate for the gtx 980 ti.....so what up with that?  Are they not identical?
 
What is up with this link?  They are not offering backplates for CURRENT products they are selling?
