what model of GPU do you have ? there is a thread here which a guy has tried to fit the back plate to the wrong gpu , I think it only fits the 2972KR , 2974 KR , and the 2978 KR , which are the SC ACX 2.0 , SCC ACX 2.0 and the FTW ACX 2.0

How long do back plates normally take to arrive? I'm in the UK, page has said "Your backplate has been shipped!" for a while now, just wondered if i should be worried that the post monster has eaten it....

Sadly no, if you paid 700 large for the GTX 980 you also shell out for the backplate....

I like my backplate so much, that when I bought a second 970 after the promotion had ended I actually paid $20 for another backplate so my seconds card would not be jealous of the first.

Try checking it in the Post Office. I waited 8 days after the status changed to "shipped", but I didn't received the backplate at home. I had to go to the Post Office to get it...

Yes, I can confirm that if you requested your Step-up prior to 11/9/2014 then your backplate will be included in the box with the shipment of your GTX 970 graphics card.

Hi Registered on 03/11/2014, and the backplate arrived today  (London UK). That's about a 6 week wait for a free gift, not 3 bad. The GPU looks great, as a 1st time buyer of a EVGA card I must say that I am very pleased with the quality of this product. I hope that everyone gets there backplate asap, hang in there and don't be too despondent.

They must be using the slowest shipping company in europe because mine hasnt arrived yet, I also think its a bit cheap to not even have tracking, what happens if it never arrives, do you ship a second one?

I will need more than that for how I'm feeling about the noise of my 970ftw. I considered steping-up, but only if the 980 reference was available for that. All I'm considering now is to sell it as is to someone else (at a loss), or to RMA it expecting a better sample and also sell it (at even a bigger loss). That's how I'm happy about it.
