Got my approval today. Second EVGA card thus far, and at this rate, it seems I will continue to buy from them.

Where will I check the tracking number or status of my backplate? My backplate request was approved already about 3 weeks ago already.

Look at the first page by EVGA_robB, click on where it says "here" or the "link" next to it, then scroll down and click on the green USPS Tracking Number:

Now if its been 3 Weeks! like you say, and the Tracking says for example : A shipping label has been prepared for your item at 1:00 pm on November 1, 2014 in BREA, CA 92821.
Well my friend you're

Just bought a 970 EVGA to replace my dead card and it has no backplate; this is in Australia. And apparently signups to have one delivered are closed? Is there any other way to get a backplate for my card?

Well my friend  on my case, I'm outside of the US and as per Rob suggest on our email, I need to register it via EVGA Asia so that's what I did. I think on US and Europe region, after you registered it and approved, they will give you the status/tracking number of where's your backplate now at. Again, on my case, it seems this is not what appears to be on my EVGA page because I am from different region. It only says, "Your request was approved. The free backplate will ship to you approximately mid-November."

Is there any other way to get a backplate for my card?

I think they'll be up for sale in the relevant EVGA territorial stores. At least, that was the case with the backplates of previous graphics card series.

I can confirm that in my case (EU), I finally got the approval (after around 10 business days), but I have the same status on the page as you. No tracking number yet. Just wait a little bit longer. =)

@All the others wondering if they can still register their cards to get a backplate:
- Just click the relevant territory link in the OP
- If your card model is part of the list entitled to the promotion and you have an invoice dated prior to Nov. 9, you can register for the backplate until Nov. 23.

I wanted to retrieve my backplate but the promotion doesn't seem eligible for Turkey. It doesn't make sense considering EVGA sends me graphic card but keeps me out of the promotion.

Could someone please help me about it?

I wouldn't sweat it. The process for this, it seems, is kind of like getting a MIR (which I did with my first GPU from EVGA). I expect it will take somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-5 weeks. Since it's a free promotion, as usual, they will be taking their sweet time.

Hello Guys,

I just bought my GTX 970 with part number 04G-P4-2974-KR.
This card has no backplate when I bought it; is there a chance to get one from EVGA?

Hmm, you're probably out of luck then. Maybe try calling EVGA customer support and see if they'll make an exception?

Hopefully you got the Pick Your Path promo at least.

I got mine really quick, registered for it on a Friday morning, the approved  and the thing arrived like on Monday afternoon. Have had a brutal last couple of weeks of travel, hope to get enough time this weekend to put it on my new GTX 970 FTW and get it installed in this system - really looking forward to it.

You can also try claiming a defective product with the store, since that item is pretty old to not have a backplate (they should have started shipping them in oct with plates)

4-5 weeks is ridiculous!  especially when you live in the U.S.

I was going to get the 970's regardless, but rushed into them because of the free Backplate promotion. Again I personally say it's ridiculous! and unacceptable 4-5 weeks...Where "First Class Mail" is intended for lightweight letters, flats, and parcels. Shippers are charged at a per-ounce rate and can expect that mail will be delivered in 1-3 days.

Example: I can drive to the location within 2 days!...My point in this, if I knew it will take actually 4-5 Weeks to get this small package delivered, I would have waited a bit longer to purchased my GPU and I would have purchased the Backplate at the same time and have it delivered via (UPS) where you can actually track the package and actually have it deliver on time, less than a week.

But aside from all that I'm still within the "1-Week Delivery Schedule" not counting weekends...Ya will know for sure by Monday

this is a very good point, evga were forced into this move due to the bad PR after some slack for not including it.  They backtracked and stated that new 970s been made will have the backplate pre fitted but the first batch will not have the backplates.  Based on that reasoning it seems only logical and fair that anyone who buys a 970 without a backplate should qualify for this without the cutoff date.

Either that first batch is not yet sold out (is that believable given 970s selling like hot cakes?), or evga were bending the truth a bit when speaking to the press.

I order mine on the 31st October (have the receipt at hand and said that I will receive it next Thursday 27th November because they screwed up my order. Can I still qualify for this? To whom will I send an e-mail/contact when I receive it? Thanks!

P.s. Is it true that they are shipping the back-plate with new batches of GTX970 FTW attached to it?

Site says if purchased before Novermber 9th, then you have until November 23rd to register and request the backplate. TIP: Once you upload your invoice/receipt, you MUST go back to the original page, scroll to the bottom and submit the request once verifying your physical address. Don't just upload your invoice and assume they have your request. They didn;t make the process very user-friendly, but nonetheless, it works better than the Govt. Healthcare Website :P

I got approved just hours after registering. It says the item will ship by mid November. ITS MID November here in Texas and have no notice of shipment. Are all these backplates shipped via UPS or others like US mail.

Hey guys, I registered my GTX 970 SC ACX 1.0 card awhile back and got a backplate for it. However, I recently exchanged the card for the GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0 and was wondering if the backplate would still fit on the FTW verison?
