The EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Hydro Copper is almost here, so lets open it up!

So here is what it looks like from the outside. One thing that is cool about the block is that it is actually pretty light, just a tad heavier than the reference cooler. This makes sure that the PCB does bend compared to overly heavy blocks or ones that don't have much support. Also the side of the block screws directly into I/O bracket. We took a lot of steps to make sure that the system with block can be transported (if necessary) and the card stays solid. You will also notice we included a GPU bracket (pics a little later)

And here is the bottom side, all critical components make direct contact with the copper.

One more pic of the outside, this is the side of the block as you would see in the case. The center EVGA logo lights up red!

Here are the internals. For this block we are using an even thinner pin matrix (.25mmx.35mm) than previous designs for better thermal transfer on the GPU area. You can also see the LED that connects directly to the 4pin fan header on the board.

We also have 2 different styles of bridge barbs that will be offered, these can connect 2 or 3 cards together and they look awesome and much cleaner than trying to route tubing in between each card. For 4-Way you can hook up 2 of the SLI barbs. The EVGA logo on these also light up!

Also this card will be the first EVGA Water Block to include new compression fittings. 1/2" and 3/8" fittings are offered and these look simply awesome. (IMO :)) Also they are branded with the EVGA logo. You can also see the GPU bracket in this pic, it screws directly into the PCB and gives the GPU a bit more support.

Here is what it looks like when installed on the card!

For GPU temps I do not have any pictures, but the waterblock can really show exploit the benefits of the new power savings offered by the GeForce GTX 680, 40C under full load. GPU temp was cut in half!

Lol you mean 1/2 ID, 3/4" OD fittings? NOT 1/2" ID, and 3/8" OD?

EDIT: NVM, those sizes you gave are both the ID measurements. Gotcha. Didn't see it includes two different sets of compressions.

    1+

That's why EVGA can't put HF brackets on all the cards, they're all on the HC version!!!

    With alittle DIY yeah.

If it's SMD led's, you can... But wow, they're small  to solder (Make sure you can solder REALLY good). Which I'm 99% sure it's SMD's in it... You can buy them on eBay for cheap. Same led's in Xbox 360 rings.

Don't push it. Last time someone asked that, they pulled lifetime warranties.

May have to pick up one or three when I can. It's a shame about the dual-slotness though. I would like to see some EVGA non-reference design that has four Displayports and flattens those power connectors into a single-slot design.

Please tell me that the EVGA waterblocks will be available separately!
Unless I can trade-up from the 2 plain GTX 680's, which I don't believe will be allowed.
If not, then I'm afraid I may have bought these too soon.

    You're exactly right.

I guess since those will run scientifically cooler (Supposedly load temps around 40c with good loop), then they figured they will add extra power, for increased OC'ing.
