you could just wait till February and claim your bucks then. you have a very long period of time to claim points so no reason to act like you never get any.

The points arent updated 24hrs any more like tracking page says. Page updates every 24 hours. Now onto mult months that end up getting points showing up at start of new mo because it takes forever longer then 24 hrs. It was never for the few bucks but it was for the few bucks to make the usage worth it so adios friends.

The page updates for me every 24 hours like it did always. No problems at all except the negative points sometimes but it seems like a bug and the next day is like it should be again

With a GTX 55ti and i7920 I wouldn't come close to 1.5 million PPD, right?

Not sure what a 55ti is, but you need 1.5million per MONTH for $5, not day or 3 million per month for $10

550ti. He missed the 0.

I am notnsure about the performance of those two combined though. I would guess you would be around 1 million points a month, but i am not sure at all. You could run for a week and see how they do to get a good idea.

Ok in that case and a quick google search (results from at least 4yrs ago) 8-10k PPD depending on WU.

At 1.5 million, you unlock 5 evga bucks.

At 3 million, you unlock 10 evga bucks. You do mot have to get to 4.5 milkion to get 10. Just 3 million.

May be a little proactive here, but ... with the New Year approaching, and the current EVGA folding promotion due to end in March 2017, I don't think it's too early to put my 2 cents in as to current promo levels.

I vote that the levels -- 1.5 million points = 5 EVGA bucks and 3.0 million bucks = an additional 5 EVGA bucks -- remain the same for Year 10. Since Stanford still values older graphics cards running Core 21 projects, my opinion is that current promotion levels stay the same.

And here I thought the [link=mailto:folding@home]folding@home[/link] promotion was all about volunteering computer resources in furtherance of a worthy cause; the EVGA bucks are just a secondary benefit. Merry Christmas!

EVGA
EVGA is constantly striving to give back to the community that gives so much to Folding@Home research. To date we have awarded thousands of dollars worth of EVGA hardware to the cause, only to see that hardware be used for more folding!

right off their promotion page. they give away money such that it can be used to buy more hardware. which in turn they hope continues to fold more and faster.

Sure, the bucks are great. But, I'm a fiscal conservative and buy new GPUs when my old cards stop functioning. Conversation ends here. Peace ... out.

The general upgrade cycle for gpus is a few years. So updating the requirements every so often makes sense. However, if at a certain point, you have to up the numbers. The bucks ate an incentive to upgrade with EVGA hardware and provide a good discount for 2 solid years of folding. So going forward, I expect their baseline to adjust to a newer generation of cards. So from 760 folding to a 960 folding. I don't expect it this year though. Pretty darn sure the year after will go up again. The supply issues are dropping off and the upgrade pressure this generation is intense to say the least.

It is unreasonable to expect them to fund your upgrade completely. They still have a business to run after all.

Re: EVGA Folding Year 9 2016/12/14 07:27:39 (permalink)
IF EVGA continues their folding promotion for year 10, based on how the bucks targets have been set we should expect to see an increase in required points.  Generally, the top monthly point target has been loosely set at approximately 500 hours of folding on the current mid-range card (at the moment the 1060).  Given the vast improvement in folding performance of the current generation of cards we should expect a sizable increase in bucks targets.  Years where we have seen no increase in points have coincided with years where the next generation of GPUs offered little to no improvement in folding performance and are not based on an upgrade cycle.

At least a threshold of 3M/6M is reasonable and 3M/7M is not out of the question, but 4M/8M is probably a stretch (disclaimer:I have yet to see reliable PPD numbers for a 1060 at stock clock over a robust set of projects).

If you're folding solely for the EVGA bucks, I'm glad your here and hope you stick around.  If the targets go up and you are no longer able to hit them it would be great if you stuck around but we are all here voluntarily and if it makes more sense for you to step away then a heartfelt thanks for all you've done and I hope you drop by and visit from time to time.  Unfortunately, this is the nature of the beast...

Hey guys, I started folding again since October, but it seems that my EVGA bucks aren't increasing.
I have been approved for 30 EVGA bucks already.
Who can I contact to look into this for me?

30 bucks since October seems about right. 10/mo for 3 months.

I think he means his accumulated bucks aren't increasing as he gets them approved.

Did you request them all at once? It can take a few days to show up in the profile section.

I have been requesting them each month. I'll wait a few days to see if they show up.

I am cool with 3 and 6, that seems reasonable.
It would take me 2 weeks instead of 1, oh well.

Ten years is a big anniversary. I hope they continue the program.
I am ok with it staying where it is right now for another year.

Noticed a similar situation to what I've got going on currently on the front page of this thread.  Basically, I got two emails stating the 1.5M request was approved but initially didn't think anything of it.  Now that the EVGA Bucks are on my account, I can see that I do in fact have 10 instead of the 5 I earned.

I can't say I don't like the idea of people getting extra compensation for folding, but I get the feeling that I'm not special and that not saying anything about it wouldn't be the best move here, given that this was almost certainly caused by some server-sided error.  Would be nice if this were addressed, or else somebody tells me what to do so that it can be.

tl;dr version:  Got EVGA Bucks I didn't actually earn, what do?

Would the form under /support/custsupp.asp be a sufficient way of submitting such a report?

It would really help if EVGA actually had STOCK.  There's been nothing in the EVGA store for months, and they also closed the EU store down till 2017 apparently.  I've been wanting to upgrade for some time, but the pickings have been non existent.
