Since it's nothing more than a shroud, it would be nice for those of us with preorders who in theory are shipping in 2 days, could just pay for the shroud as an elite member and we can swap them ourselves. Much better than swapping cards and having to wait much longer.

I agree with the idea of EVGA allowing users to swap them out themselves (even though that's a potentially large headache for them support-wise), but I hadn't really thought about the little nugget you threw in the middle there:

Veratu
...preorders ... are shipping in 2 days...

That's true for the pre-orders of the SC2, right?!
So, how does that work with the Elite Member Exclusive? This is the weekend, and a holiday weekend at that. EVGA is closed for 2 days. So, they start shipping on Monday, or are scheduled to do so. How do the SC2 pre-order customers get in on the Elite Member Exclusive deal if their GPU(s) are already being shipped?

I called EVGA customer support yesterday and had the following conversation:

Me: "I pre-ordered an FTW3 on the morning the offering went live (March 28, 2017) and was given a product shipping date of May 1, 2017. However, since I now qualify for the Elite Member Exclusive, I am wondering if I sign up for it, will I lose my pre-order status or the May 1st shipping date?"

EVGA Support Person: "We have not yet been given very much information on the Elite Member Exclusive deal. That said, I can tell you that by filling out the form for the Elite Member Exclusive you will not lose your pre-order status or your place in the pre-order shipping queue."

Me: "I should have no problems then?"

EVGA Support Person: "No. It's more of an information form than anything else. Just fill it out and you should be receiving email concerning the program soon."

So, what's really going on? At this point, I think we're all in the dark (which doesn't bode well for a graphics card product, eh? - sorry, couldn't resist).

I'm starting to get the feeling like they don't really have everything planned out, and that they're just going with the flow and figuring it out as they go. But give them props for what they are trying to accomplish.

I like that idea.  I want a white shroud, but don't want to paint it myself, or be without a card if I have to send mine back in once my regular FTW3 arrives.

The FTW3 was the card I wanted since the rendered picture was released, but I have to say that a black FTW3 looks a lot better. I would rather buy it already painted then to paint it myself or wait for it to be painted. I just hope that FTW3 EME edition will not be a limited produced item and the price will be the same as the normal FTW3 card.

It'd be neat if they released purchasable  shroud covers that you could just "snap on" yourself. This way I could just purchase a white shroud and paint it to whatever color I need to match a builds current theme.

Still like these new cards, step in the right direction certainly.

I think that's a great idea or a few other assortment of things like blackplates, etc.  On the downside of it all other than people unboxing and installing their GPUs, some might static fry their GPUs or worse, damage their PCBs doing these types of installs leaving their CS bombarded with RMAs so I think while it's a great idea, the downside has to be looked at as well and how costly could it be for them versus the amount they could make from doing something like this.

Are the cards the same price as the original FTW3? or will there be some sort of price premium? Also any idea how long this promotion will last? Either way I gotta start saving up :xxx

The red would go perfect with my red and black build. I know, not the most original, but I like it.

I hope EVGA gives us an Idea of when these cards will be shipping. I don't know how long I can maintain my self control and not order a different card!

I'm getting a GTX1080Ti KingPin EME 2.5slot in glorious white.

...a little magical bird told me so.

...that little bird also told me to keep my mouth shut about the secret mysterious KingPin 2.5slot and to never ever waggle my tongue under any circumstances.

Isn't the FTW3 basically a KingPin minus the larger heatsink and a BIOS select switch.

My thoughts exactly.

But I want a 2.5slot heatsink and one extra bios, oh and a KingPin tshirt and a single slot water option.

The single slot water option does sound nice if you want to build in a small form factor case and still have room for a possible second card.

2.5 slot kingpin? Pooh the rather puny looking 2 slot on the ftw3 is the one part i don't like after having the cool looking and huge zotac coolers for the best part of the last decade lol, also i really need to get to posting so i can get my 2 white ftw3's as frankly getting them in silver would really annoy me now as white would look so much better in the new build.

I'm ether getting the FTW3 black or red. I have to see the color of the red first.
