With the exception of possible damage caused by not fitting g something properly, where as paint is purely cosmetic and no real different I'd of thought to a scratch ?
Oh well wouldn't risk the warranty for a colour change.

So the backplate is still black? Anyone know evga's stance regarding warranties of you get the shroud / backplate painted, as I can have that done cheaper and faster than waiting for an elite version.
The card has to be in the original state it came out of the box, otherwise the warranty is invalid.
That's a bummer. Paint shouldn't be a big deal but I guess it is.
Use plastic dip. They don't actually void the warranty. They will charge you for replacing the part though. Everything I've heard and read suggests that they'll work it out.

Very unethical and you're abusing the system if you're thinking of it that way. This will only add more traffic to the legit complaints and RMAs.

In the UK and I received the email for the elite model and that my FTW3 is shipping shortly. Think I'm going to stick with my original FTW3. Not willing to wait another 3 to 4 weeks and pay loads more just for a color shroud. Not worth it imho

I am an Elite member, i have done the sing up and i have received the email.
I have no pre order so i go to the FTW3 ELITE product page but there is no "Add to cart" button it's keep to say "Elite member exclusive".
Someone got the same problem??

I have purchased it. I was the original owner and I registered this product Part Number: 04G-P4-3978-KR since June 2016, which is listed as one of the qualifying products. I stepped up effective in November 2016 to the 08G-P4-6181-KR. Why do I not qualify?

- There is no time limit for how long ago an EVGA member must purchase or register a qualifying product.
The wording used is that have purchased. That I did and I should qualify. It does not say who currently own the product. I still have that product registered in MY EVGA products.

The sign up and email were to allow for preorders of FTW3 to upgrade it to elite card preorders. From the same signup page you could choose to upgrade your preorder. Actual elite product preorders aren't live yet.

I gave in and upgraded to elite FTW3 in black. My son wasn't happy, but he said I waited this long. Now we have to wait another month  It says the 29th on may for shipping. Oh well. Will we get a email confirming that we upgraded preorder?

Everything from the original preorder carries over. You can't change any of the details. Nothing gets deducted until you get charged.

so i finally got my email about my pre order this morning, shortly after speaking to customer support coincidentally, however, ever since then the link https://eu.evga.com/member/elite/ has been down so i cant act on it anyway, im hoping it will be working at some point as if i miss my chance to swap due to the website having issues ill be a little bit annoyed. any more pics of the elite cards anywhere especially the back-plates ? as there seems to be very few images i can find and none show it.

I see same thing, but I see and hear of people able to request a preorder upgrade. Which kind of burns a bit. I really do not want to wait another 1 - 2 months just to get this card and that is assuming I have time to preorder. I am usually asleep, exhausted from my odd work schedule when early preorders hit.
As long as your popular enough, you can get away with anything.
