So I was wondering if anyone has used a Corsair Obsidian 600T case with the ECP.  How were you able to mount it in one of the 5.25" bays?  The cases doesn't use screws to secure the drives in place, it uses this locking clip you push down on.  I can't find a place to screw the ECP in.

Thanks Jacob, for these instructions. They are what is needed.

Be advised long cards squash the large connector(below the rt angle SATA's). So it results in limiting the number of slots available for a two way SLI.

I even dressed the wires to keep them as flat as possible but the GTX480 won't fully seat without pinching the wire between the connector top and the the bottom of the 480. What results is a non-fully seated card edge connector and removal is tricky. I could grind down an 1/8" but I just can bring myself to do that. The only other long card option is to put the second 480 in the #4 slot cramming the 2-way SLI card into the closest proximity reducing the air flow between the cards.
For an SLI I'll just have to move my 560 Ti's in this case because they are short and do not collide with the header connectors.

At first I thought the unit was giving me a code 2A? but I think the bottom row/bottom right light is dead? Cause if it was it would be showing 28 just like the mobo saying 28. Hmm is mine bad? lols

I have the Obsidian case and I had to create a small shim for the right side and used the tool-less connection on the left.  I wasn't able to use the screws because of the existing holes in the case, they are bigger than the heads, im guessing you could use washers and they would work.  For the shim i used 4 business cards folded in half and cut to size and colored black with a sharpie. It actually looks fine and provides enough pressure to hold the panel in place against poking

I have a new build in progress with the Z68 FTW and need some clarification regarding the PCI-E disable cable connection to the MB. The PCI-E jumper block is structured (from top to bottom) as a block of 4 (JPE 2, JPE 4, JPE 6, and JPE 7) and a block of 2 (JPE 3 and JPE 5) so I assume I connect the PCI-E disable cable to the block of 4 (to match the cable end). My question is, which PCI-E jumper (JPE #) do each of the ECP panel buttons (from left to right: JPE4, JPE3, JPE2, JPE1) correlate to?

Seems confusing to me, though I may be missing something

EVGA ECP V4 - Big Thanks to Jacob 2011/11/20 07:59:40 (permalink)
Jacob - You sir, are a life saver!   These instructions were just what I needed to finish up my new build.
The photos and your narrative makes it even better.

One request.   The manual for this board (P67K2) is minimal at best.  Would you ask the powers that be at EVGA if it would be possible to go back to the way that EVGA manuals used to be written?  I found the 790i one particularly helpful due to its amount of content.  It really helped a dummy like me make the build more fun.  This one was kind of a chore in comparison.

Thanks for all of the good work that you do to help us on the forums.

Ok, I hooked it up. This control panel while in Windows only shows the post codes. Why isn't it showing the CPU temp? Is there a setting in the Bios that needs to be changed?

Yes, there is a BIOS setting to either have it display the current post code or the temp. Changing that will also change the LED display on the motherboard to do the same.

So I can't have the Mobo display the codes, and the control panel display the CPU temp at the same time?

Forum member "Wrinvert" will be going over all my Bios settings with me in a few minutes. I think this issue, and a few others will be resolved as soon as the Bios settings are corrected.

  • If the EVGA ELEET Software is running in the background, EVGauge will run in realtime mode and show you your current CPU Frequency, so you will see the needle kick down when Speedstep lowers the CPU Clock, or increase when Turbo automatically increases the CPU Clock... cool!

Did not work with my Dark Mobo and Eleet-X. It just shows 3.4 GHz (stock) or 4.5 (oc), Eleet-x is running in the background and there it goes up and down with the clocks, but on EVGauge it's still 3.4 and no moving.
Any ideas please?
