Yeah, that's indeed true, boredgunner. But I've decided to use the P80R, which is red (inside, too - not like the uneloxated black version) and add some black components. Fits the Board-Colortheme. I'll probably add some images in a build-thread after the first steps are taken, actually I have too much projects running (tank robot, ATMega-Boards, SR-2, ...).

Can anyone explain this V2120 user review on NewEgg? The guy made it sound like the SR-2 doesn't fit. I have my SR-2 and all the components sitting around in boxes and I have been waiting for the "perfect" case. I guess that may never happen, unless it comes with a free Dremel. Now I have this mini-bar refrigerator sitting around ...

That's indeed very weird. That case was announced and is still listed as HPTX compatible (so SR-2 compatible). I don't have it myself so I cannot tell you the inner measures, sorry.. I'm gonna google for some german reviews, if someone tells about non-fitting SR-2 in that case, maybe it shows the problem more detailed. Will edit and post what I find. Edit: Found several picts and videos with a SR-2 in that case (not only german). I'm not sure if the user review maybe talks about the V1020...? I don't know if links are allowed, so I'll let them out right now.

V2120 will fit SR-2 if internal 140mm fan and the wall attached to it removed.

Hopefully I will post some pics soon. I am waiting for a removeable motherboard tray replacment cos mine was faulty. They will send me some pan head screws cos it's not included which it should have. However, do not buy larger heatsinks like DH-14 that will not fit for V2120. I have dual Armageddon heatsinks with dual fan. Will post some pics soon.

You just have to remove the gimmicky VGA support bracket which doesn't really have any use. Judging by the pics that support bracket is only held into place by 4 thumbscrews.

Nope it definitely won't fit with Noctua DH-14 as it got in the way with the metal bar (where video card support) and also it won't slide in or out of the case. That's why I brought Armageddon heatsinks as they are thinnest. I will post some pics but I am waiting for the replacement. However, if you want to keep the metal bar, then find the shortest heatsinks, it depend on the right size that will slide in or out of the case. For me, I just removed that bar cos my new heatsinks are very tall.

Ah damn, thanks for the info that it won't fit with the motherboard tray outside of the case. Still not an issue really. Most people are used to not having removable motherboard trays.

When you take the side panel off behind the motherboard, the motheboard tray folds down parallel with the desk top. That way, I can make modifications rather comfortably! Laziness is the mother of invention!

I think Performance-PCs ships internationally so you can wait for them to get the PC-V2120.

Actually it's hinged at the bottom so that the entire motherboard tray, motherboard, backpanel and all attached cards all hinge out and down. There is a little leg that folds out from the back of the tray to support the motherboard tray when it is now facing up, so you can work on it. I too liked the motherboard trays that slide out the back with the backpanel and the cards. That is why I designed this one with everything folding out together.

Hmm, the trays are a bit annoying, had several ones and nearly everytime some "size" problems on shoving it in. Another problem is, that they are unscrewable from the back - means, you can basically not lock your case. The "flipping" Design is a nice thing, because you can lock the side panels and no one can remove the tray then without tools. It works even with the biggest coolers, too.

Unfortunately, I cannot post my pics as I just discovered that PSU tray does not align well with my PSU (Enermax 1250W Galaxy Evo). I'm getting frustrated. I have two motherboard trays. One is faulty (one of the holes is loosen, can't tighten the nuts). Lian Li sent me the wrong colour tray (black, mine is silver, it doesn't match these colours). I'm running SR2 without the case. I'm waiting to hear from the supplier and Lian Li whether they send me a new case or refund. I personally want 50% refund. Wait and see. I will sell the case, got sick of it.

Hey Danny, that's not good... The V2120 has the same aluminium bar snapin-PSU-Holder as some TYRs, right? What exactly doesn't fit there? Would interest me.. I'm more for the 4-Screw-and-happy-Method anyways. ;)

Hey Wolf, Yeah that is right but I don't know about TYRs. Just avoid the larger heatsinks. It has to be under 150mm or less that won't interfere the pci card holder. Noctua DH-14 does not fit well with V2120 - you can't slide in our out (primary cpu only). Also, it won't fit with pci holder either. Listen to this person who commented about this case. http://www.newegg.com/Pro...ab=true#scrollFullInfo I totally agreed with him.

Yea, as you can read a bit earlier in the thread I chose the P80R.. It has to get some modification - but at least then it fits well. And IMHO its even better than the V2120 - but thats a matter of taste (the "OnTop-Airvent isnt everyones thing.. I guess..). I seriously wonder why the V2120 has such problems, even as it was announced (and is) as HPTX Capable.. my dislikements were more based around the "functions" and "new stuff" but if it doesn't even fit the SR-2 officially without bigger modifications that seriously sucks.. Btw, what was with your tray? Wrong color? Had you ordered the total-black V2120?

I ordered V2120S (silver). I received the case a couple of weeks ago. I just found out that one of the holes was loosen. Lian Li sent me another tray, it turned out to be black on the back panel. Lian Li was apologized to me. They will send another one but I've decided that I had enough. Too many flaws in this case (Pci card holder, vertical wall and internal 140mm internal fan removed, PSU mounting screws can't align well, poor documentation - it even say it need to mount PSU mounting bracket that I didn't have it and I don't think Lian Li provided it!). I don't think V2120 fit well with SR2, just barely because I had to remove them, you know).

owh.. yea I can understand that.. Must be really annoying. :( About the color: Normally they should ask you exactly which color you need.. No idea how that mistake could happen.. They're still a very very good company but I don't feel well with their actual line of "improvements".. Lian Li was never a shiny, funky, modern PC Case for gamers, you know. It was slight, elegant, noble, timeless... somehow this gets lost by too much "advantages" and "modern features". And I still don't get why a HPTX-Case doesn't fit the SR-2 like it is default-wise. Weird world.. Anyways, you'll find a case which fits you and which you want to keep, I'm sure. :)

Yeah Wolf, I don't get it either. It fit barely, close to the HDD cage. it should be at least 400mm instead of 360mm. What Lian Li were thinking! The supplier will refund me 50% which I am happy. I will be running the tray without the case until I found the right one. Hurry up Cooler Master! 80R case should be fine.

Yeah the PC-P80 is 390mm long. I would have preferred to see ≥ 400mm for the PC-V2120 as well.
