We haven't seen the left side panel yet.  There will be three versions though.  The PC-V2120A will be all silver, the PC-V2120B is the one pictured here, and the PC-V2120X will be all black.  An all black interior is pointless without a windowed side panel right?  One will probably be sold separately but I'm guessing that the PC-V2120X will have a windowed side panel.

PC-V2120X don't have a windowed side panel. A source told me from NZ :(

Aww.  Would you happen to know if one will be sold separately?

I heard Steve Jobs wants this motherboard so bad he made his engineers shoe horn it into a G5 and now they're getting rid of it.

Does it come with the side window panel?

If you buy the 800D it will come with the see through window.  If you buy the 700D it will just be a solid panel.  The case come complete, besides the modifications.

Here is a quick pictures of my install / build so far...     :)

I am sure that that is not an SR2 MOBO. How did we get this far 'OFF TOPIC'?

Just got my DD Double Wide Tower - 21 Black Series Edition from danger den they now offer a option for them to extend the case to fit this beast of a board. The upgrade cost $60 but works great. Its special order so you have to call them to get it done.

I can confirm that the Lian-Li Legacy case (PC-777) can be made compatible with the SR-2 via vigorous application of a Dremmel (removing the 3.5" bays and the bottom three 5.25" bays). I doubt many other people have one of these spare though. :)

I think you mean the PC-77F ?
Also, where did you put the drives ?
Could you still add front fans ?
Thanks !

That is correct if you can mod it but for me I don't want it so I sold it anyway.

Correct. As for the HDD bay which attached the front fans. I'm not sure if it can attach to the front apart from these bays.

Hi!

I'm still in the process of modding my cosmos 1000 to fit the SR-2 (which I don't even have yet!). I recreated the minimum parts of the case in solidworks in order to calculate how I needed to cut the new sheets of metal. I just needed 3 new pieces ... although one of them I didn't measure correctly and have to remake it haha... and another one was wrong too since I didn't consider another piece from one of the side covers...

Aaaaaaanyway since work has been low and I'm bored I recreated more parts of the chassis to se how I'm going to put everything together. Here are some pics:

billpayer2005Also, where did you put the drives ?

I installed two of these in the 5.25 bays. I have 4 x Vertex 2 100 GB in one (for my RAID 0 os/app drive) and 4 x 750 GB Momentus 7200 RPM in the other (for RAID 5 bulk storage).
Could you still add front fans ?

I have just left the standard front and back fans that come with the case for now, with watercooling I might not need any more. I will take some pictures when I am done. It is nice to see the cool stuff people are doing with their SR-2 cases in this thread.

damn..

dont mean to burst your bubble but the one i built cost me all of $300. add shipping and an hour of mod pay and you'd be looking at less than $500.

its a really simple mod to be honest.

I don't see how that is possible.  $200 for case and ~$150 for MM SR-2 Tray with security flanges.  Those prices include shipping.  ...then it took us more then an hour to mod, so you must be a quick worker.

700d case is $179 at microcenter and i dont pay tax because i have retailers license.

mountainmods tray is $79 + $7.50 for an extra mounting flange. shipping gets charged to my fedex account so i dont count that and even if i did it would only be like $13 for priority overnight.

not trying to be mean or anything but its not $150 for a MM tray no matter what the color you get. the one i got is black wrinkle just like yours.

i worked in a machine shop for a while.... i have the tools and know how to make quick use of them. :D

dont get me wrong... yours looks great. perhaps there are things some of us wounldnt have used but thats your taste. everyone has their own taste in parts. as long as your happy thats what matters.

one thing i do want to know is where you got those sata cables. those look really thick and nice. i need to pick up a few for my rigs.

can you also list what is on which PSU? i have mine split into 2 psus and just wanted to see how you broke it up.

thanks

you can build the SR2 too in an old Lian Li PC-G70.
You only need to put the PSU in the top of the case and can't use a second one.

will show soon some pictures if I keep the board.

Hey, my SR2 lives in a 800D and I didn't pay a dime to MM. Granted, I can't do 4 way SLI, but I couldn't afford the cards right now anyway.

Can you share what you had to remove or modify to make the board fit please?
I have plans for a Lian-Li PC-P80 but since I have no plans for 4-way SLI either, the Corsair 800D case would be very attractive as well for me.

Also is there any space at top for a radiator and fans like here [link=http://www.corsair.com/products/800d/800dgallery10.jpg]http://www.corsair.com/pr...800d/800dgallery10.jpg[/link] ?
